I suppose I should give one last shot at this. Tevar, you'd better put that charisma to good use by making a Charisma check. If you can get over 20 you can calm them enough that while they're still scared and want to run, they'll at least do it in a more orderly fashion that involves fewer people (mostly the elderly and the young) from getting trampled.

CHR check.
I also have these two, and I intend to do a Detect Evil.
Aura of Good
Aura of Courage : All allies +4 Morale vs Fear 10ft rad.
And the Evil Detected will be getting a "SMITE" with the GhostTouch when I find him.

Okay, looks like Ceridwen and Naja are going to need to make Reflex saves to get out of the way of the still insane with fear mob before they get swept away. I'd say DC 15 seems about reasonable. Roll 'em.

Ouch. Okay, let's say 3d6 damage, knocked to the ground, and then you have to make a Fort save DC 15 or be nauseated next round from the crush of bodies. Next round you can make a DC 17 (it's worse now that you're knocked over) Ref save to crawl out or suffer further consequences.
Also, Eight is slower than Ophidian because of his armour.
Oh yeah, damage
3d6 = 1163771427

Technically he is adamantium, and can't be harmed without first besting a hardness roll. Technically.

You know, if the Charisma check was to calm them, I'd have let the big honkin' aura she's got that prevents fear add to the roll, but that's just me.

He meant the charisma check. You would have succeeded had that applied.LadyTevar wrote:My Aura only gives a +4.
Even with that, I still failed both rolls.

I know, the reason I disallowed it was that the crowd was bigger than the aura thus even if she calmed those near her the ones behind would still be panicked and thus undo the effect. Not only that, but the effect technically only extends to allies and some of the people are seeing her as hostile (not all, but some) so that muddles things further. So I just went with the straight Charisma check.
Also, because you aren't nauseated, you can go defensive and try and protect your vitals Tevar. I'll say that this gives you a +4 to your reflex save to avoid the damage but not get out of the crowd. For a heavy shield and heavy armour you'll get another +4 (+1 for the shield and +3 for the armour) as while it would help a bit, there's a lot of force getting applied all over. Big enough crowds can smash over reinforced concrete walls. So you're still stuck in the crowd but you won't take additional damage this round.

Reason number 37 to prefer the rebalanced paladin: The aura is bigger.

Yes, Rogue, if not Bartel, now knows why the priests were going crazy without any apparent reason. That was a major ouch there.

Curse his villainous escaping ways!
My next move was to smite his brains out, but he's negated my ability to do so now.

Today's lesson is: be careful when turning evil incorporeal undead as they have very good escape routes available to run away from the priest with. At least there wasn't any smiting of the incorporeal creature with a victim of ability drain as a backstop.
Also, I am guessing that there will now be a round of speculation on how exactly 'Joseph' made good his escape. Now taking bets on high level spells, or more esoteric methods!

I'm going to go with a shadow jump ability; the most obvious source is Shadowdancer, but there are others.
And I know that; you don't need to rub it in.
It was better than any of the other alternatives at the time; at least now it has to run for a minute, and we can possibly intercept it later. I made the best of a bad situation, since I had no means of destroying it.
