"No not in particular. In fact, we are probably safer where there is not a mythal prohibiting certain spells. Our enemy is capable of breaching it, which means he is extremely powerful"

"Not in public," Gaheris said quietly. "If they can get some sort of monster in through the wards, they probably know where we are. Time to try and change that. Let's get outside the mythal and move somewhere else."

"I should inform you, there is little chance of being able to hide our location. Our new friend managed not only to create a being by melding the essences of Limbo, and the Plane of Shadow, but also send it past the mythal to my exact location. I do not know if this specific creature was prohibited from entering, but a spellcaster who could summon or teleport it into the city can likely find us wherever we tread. This foe is beyond us. And I suspect the information you have gathered will not brighten the situation. I suggest we go into the temple, you explain what you have found, and then we then subsequently discuss enlisting aid. Because we will need it if we are to survive, let alone rescue the abbot."

Gaheris gave the inside of the temple a cursory look around before turning to Astinius and speaking in a low voice.

"They're called the tsochari. According to the sages at Candlekeep, they're parasites; they can bore into bodies and control their hosts. Their first goal is the acquisition of new magic."

"And I take it from there they would have sought to use this faux-abbot to gain our trust and then... well to simplify it, steal my...abilities. But that does not explain why the abbot was taken and not me directly. Unless they have another goal in mind?"
