Yeah right now I don't have anything beyond basic starter gear still. Going to have to work to fix that. Not trying to dump a ton of real money into buying stuff for it quite yet. I'll check out the ash and loki frames on warframe wiki to see what they're about and what they do and see what needs to be done to get them.

Also, is there any real significant difference between a standard warframe and a prime frame? Not sure what the real difference is.

Don't worry much about spending real money - the only real thing I recommend spending Platinum on are extra Warframe and weapon slots, and maybe an Orokin Catalyst or Reactor if you really like a given weapon or Warframe and want to keep it instead of selling it when you're done. You can get everything else, including quite a bit you can't spend money to get, just by playing a bit longer.

I'm on Skype and Warframe now if you want to play, btw.

There are a few major differences. First, Prime variants have an extra mod Polarity; second they have some small advantage in Shield strength or Life or Armor over their normal variants, and third, they get energy refilled by Energy traps in Void missions instead of having it drained. Mostly they just take an impressive amount of time to get, but I'd say they're worth it.

The Prime variants of the weapons are all worth it, without dispute. The Boltor Prime I would consider a high-end rifle, the Burston Prime a very dependable and powerful burst rifle, and the Latron Prime has a very impressive amount of accurate semi-auto sniper-shot damage.

So, the user Mogamu managed to get his hands on the Safeguard Switch augment Mod for Loki.

Here's his breakdown, and I think this is a nice taste of the ability augment mods.

So, a few things.

- DE included additional Sigils for each Syndicate you can purchase, each of which give a passive bonus to the amount of rep you receive for that faction. This is a good investment if there's more than one item or mod you want from a particular faction, as buying anything from an individual Syndicate costs you hard-earned rep, and a good sigil can help you recover the lost rep points more quickly (anywhere from +5% and higher for all rep earned for that particular Syndicate).

- You do earn rep points for the Syndicate whose sigil you're wearing quite a bit more quickly if you play in a team with other Tenno. This is likely based on the total affinity earned (abilities used, weapons used, enemies killed, affinity orbs found) by all players in a given mission, which can be quite a bit higher than if you play solo.

- The first Clan Dojo Archwing weapon, the Velocitus, is now available. It's a main gun weapon, does Magnetic damage base, and thus far has the highest base damage of the Archwing gun weapons. I dumped all necessary resources into its research, and it should be done within 3 days. You'll still need to get the individual parts for it from Corpus Extermination missions, though.

- The first Archwing Interception mission you'll find, on Earth, gives you chances to get the Corvus shotgun and the Onorix axe on the 4th wave. You'll still need to buy the actual blueprints for those weapons in the Market, but that mission is where you can find the parts. I can't speak to the Corvus yet, but the Onorix hasn't impressed me much. The Onorix may swing faster, but the Veritux uses less Stamina per swing, and has a longer range. Your mileage may vary, of course.

So, I haven't played in a few months - Marcao and B4 have played more than I lately, according to Steam.

However, I have to say - once they fixed the math issues with Syndicate standings, and since they've added the Syndicate Medallions to find, ranking up one's standing with a given faction is much less painful, and actually encourages one to explore the map.

Incentives for players to actually check over a given game map for things instead of barreling straight through to the end is a good thing in my book. Even though you'll only get 3 missions from the Syndicates you have the best standing with per day, and though not all missions appear to spawn the Medallions, other maps will show you how many total medallions are on a given map when you pick one up. You know it's time for greedy laughter when you see "1/8 Medallions Collected" appear.

My Cephalon Suda and Arbiters of Hexus standings are both now at least 25k (with Hexus actually being at about 35k) on the third tier, which really isn't bad when I sat down yesterday to play for the first time in months, with both barely on the second tier.

Also, after playing the Limbo frame to 30, and even giving it a Forma to see it's true potential... it feels like a "good idea, bad execution" in motion. Some of the abilities are fun, but they aren't especially group-friendly. Good for solo-ing, but not quite as good as Ash or Loki.

Has anyone here tried the gunslinger frame yet, the Mesa?

One further note about the Medallions - make SURE you wear the sigil on your warframe corresponding to the syndicate you're doing a mission for, if you do a Syndicate mission. This is for a very simple reason - you won't see the Medallions at all if you're not wearing that faction's Sigil.

So, if you do an Arbiters of Hexus Syndicate mission, make sure to wear a Hexus Sigil.

Seems like common sense, but it's a very simple thing that can bite you if you're not careful.

The grind to get the Mesa was so ungodly stupid I didn't even bother. I don't even think I've played in a month since most of the clan wasn't on/active it seemed.

There's an event going on now that makes it easier, apparently. If you do the Invasion missions to get the Alad V Nav Blueprints, you can then fight an Infested version of Alad V, found from the Patient Zero quest, who will give you a blueprint for the Mesa per run.

So, less irritating to get now, but will still take a bit of grinding. Thankfully, the Syndicate rep XP works better now, so the grinding will grant you a nice chunk of rep per run. With Marcao and two PUG's, I got about 3k rep per run of the Invasion mission for my primary faction.

Completely up to you, but I'm glad I did. Arbiters of Hexus and Cephalon Suda both offer some very nice augments and keys, but Suda offers the Synoid Gammacor sidearm weapon, which at the moment is the new hotness, apparently.

Try signing up with one of them, and try a Syndicate mission to collect a few Medallions. I'd suggest equipping Thief's Wit to highlight things on the map, though. They're hard enough to find already, you might as well make them appear on radar.

The Void Trader, Baro ki'Teer is a new seller in Warframe, found on the Relay maps for each planet. You'll find two kiosks nearby where you can sell extra Prime parts you have for Orokin ducets, another currency you use with Baro to get his items, which change every two weeks.

The main thing is that he offers Primed mods, which are more powerful versions of mods you already have. For instance, the original Continuity mod for your warframe has a max rank of 5, takes up 9 energy to use at max, and gives a +30% bonus to Power Duration at max rank. By contrast, the Primed Continuity mod has a max rank of 10, takes up 14 energy to use at max, and gives a +55% bonus to Power Duration at max rank.

Other Primed mods work more or less the same way, and they are only available from Baro. He also sells cosmetic items and skins of other weapons, which is nice since you can get some of the cosmetic items in-game without having to spend real-world money to do so.

Ok, since this just bit me, I'm assuming others already have or will be soon.

Each Syndicate charges a certain amount to increase your rank. Achieving rank 2 took 50k and a Forma, achieving rank 3 took 100k and an Orokin Catalyst/Reactor, and now achieving rank 4 will take 250k credits, and a Prime part that it takes a Tier 3 or 4 key to have a chance of getting.

So. While saving up the required amount of credits (I'm insane, so I'm saving up at least 500k as well as making runs to acquire Void keys to get the Prime parts required, so I can rank both Cephalon Suda and Arbiters of Hexis both to 4 at the same time), I'm working on a third faction's rep right now - Steel Meridian, since they don't affect the factions I'm allied with at all, and because they offer a rather nice selection of augments.

The one for the Hek, Scattered Justice costs 7 energy, adds +200% multishot (!), and adds a fillable damage meter for AoE Blast damage shenanigans. You have to be rank 4 in Steel Meridian to get it, true, but still.

One more thing - looking up the Primed mods makes them all the more worth getting. There appear to be Primed versions of all major mods planned, as I've seen Primed versions of both Warframe and weapon mods so far. Mind you, I'm not complaining, even though I don't have any yet.

So, another finding.

If you invite anyone with you on a Syndicate mission, the person or people you invite will also get the static rep reward for completing it (modified by Sigils you have equipped, of course), but they won't be able to see the Medallions - only the host will be able to see them or pick them up.

Also, the Redeemer is kind of amusing. It's a melee weapon that works like a shotgun if you hold down melee, it has innate punch-through, and does Blast damage. Getting the Stance mod for it will be kind of annoying, but this just means going on anti-Infested runs to kill many Brood Mothers to get the stance.

Also, the Mesa is worth the time and effort to get. Very, very much worth it.

I'd be down. In the meantime, work on saving up credits - ranking up your standing in a given Syndicate is very expensive in terms of credits.

For the Syndicate missions themselves, the Thief's Wit warframe mod is a tremendous help in locating them.

I tried out some Weapon Augment mods yesterday, after receiving the one for the Burston Prime, Gilded Truth, from the Arbiters of Hexus syndicate. I have to say, weapon augment mods are a pretty awesome addition to the game.

How it works is like this - each faction focuses on a single Elemental combination (such as Gas, Magnetic, Blast, etc.), and the weapon augment mods add a meter to your status bar that fills when you use energy, deal damage, or receive damage. When the meter fills to the top, it'll create a large AoE effect (with you in the center of the effect) that inflicts 1000 elemental damage to everything within about 20 meters (as a rough guess of distance), restores 25% of your maximum health value, and temporarily doubles your maximum Stamina.

The best part is that even though against higher-level enemies, 1000 damage becomes less impressive, the effect triggers more often due to the increased amount of damage being thrown around.

The one for the Burston Prime also increases Fire Rate by 80%. Considering that Shred increases Fire Rate by only 30% at max, and Speed Trigger increases Fire Rate by only 60% at max, that's rather impressive numerically. Experientially, this becomes a frightening weapon. I have both Shred and Gilded Truth on my Burston Prime right now, and the three shots sound like a single shot, and it refires so fast that it feels like a very eager semi-auto rifle, instead of a burst rifle.

I also got the Entropy Burst mod from the Cephalon Suda syndicate for the Supra, but I honestly don't like using the Supra very much. It's a very powerful gun, but the slow travel time of the projectiles and the low accuracy make me less than madly in love with it. I only ever really use it against slow bosses, and I don't think that will change even with the new weapon augment mod for it.

With that said, the buffs given to the Braton Prime are... very attractive now. If you put on both +Slashing damage mods on it along with the usual rifle mods (serration, split chamber, shred, rifle ammo mutation, plus two slots for elemental mod damage combos), it's a truly vicious gun. The one and only reason I'm not using it right now is because I liked the Burston Prime almost as much, and the Burston Prime now has the Gilded Truth mod.

So. I hit rank 5 with both Cephalon Suda and the Arbiters of Hexis yesterday.

This involved me picking up quite a few Stalker marks from repeatedly punking Ambulas on Pluto to get extra cash (the Master Thief mod is wonderful for getting extra cash, btw), since you need 500,000 credits plus a Prime item blueprint to rank up to 5, and I did it for two Syndicates at once.

However, it allowed me to get my hands on the Synoid Gammacor.

To give a proper explanation, the regular Gammacor is available in the Market. It eats ammo rather fast, the damage isn't great against non-Corpus (or shielded enemies, like in the Void), and though it looks cool, it just doesn't quite make any of the other sidearms look bad.

It's bigger, meaner, more spiteful cousin, the Synoid Gammacor, on the other hand, is a vile, evil, cruel piece of work, and I love it. It is much better than it's cousin in just about every way (210 damage vs. 50, 10% crit chance vs. 5%, 2x crit damage vs. 1.5x, 20% status chance vs. 5%, 75 round magazine vs. 50, 375 ammo cap vs. 210), is much more ammo-efficient, and most importantly adds the Entropy effect.

Like other Cephalon Suda weapon augments that give you an Entropy meter, the Synoid Gammacor's elemental effect is Magnetic-based. This isn't very useful against Grineer or Infested, but it's still AoE damage that can take out smaller units in a fairly wide radius. Against Void or Corpus enemies though, it's excellent. I took it on a t3 void Survival mission yesterday, and while the Entropy effect stopped being able to kill enemies outright per burst once they were level 35+, the effect occurred often enough that it was a very useful supplement to normal damage I can dish out.

So - for the other Syndicate weapons I'm working on getting access to, the Telos Akbolto (from the Arbiters of Hexis) doesn't look all that great, to be honest. The added Truth effect would be fun, don't get me wrong, but there are certainly better sidearms out there already. The Vaykor Marelok, from the Steel Meridian faction on the other hand, looks to be a marked improvement over the regular Marelok, which is a very hard-hitting pistol already. Steel Meridian's elemental specialty is Blast damage, which might not be useful as say Corrosive, it can still knock all enemies to the floor in a wide radius when Blast procs, which is very useful.

TL;DR: The Synoid Gammacor is really, really worth grinding the Cephalon Suda rep to get.

Another note, that makes me personally rather happy.

Ember and Ember Prime both got much-needed updates recently, in update 15.5. Ember now has 100 armor (and the Prime has 125), faster movement, and ability updates to Fire Blast and World on Fire. Fire Blast now sends off an expanding ring of fire, like the Arson Eximus ability does. Rather nice, and definitely has uses (especially with range mods). World on Fire is now similar to how it was before, but you can end the effect early if you choose.

The downside is that Ember needs range for all abilities, duration for Accelerant, Fire Blast, and World on Fire, and power for all abilities. This makes properly setting up her mods a challenge if you don't want her squishy, but certainly possible.

The devs also added another mini-game, Wyrmius. To play it, you have to equip the Wyrm Sentinel, click the Appearance tab, and then click the W option. You can also play by entering "wyrmius" as the username on the Warframe login screen, with no password. It's... like most old-school side-scrolling shooters, except with Warframe graphics. And it's hard - on par with Flappy Zephyr hard.

(to access Flappy Zephyr btw, enter "flappy" as the username on the login screen, with "birds" as the password.)

So, as you can see - picking a favorite Syndicate to raise rep with will necessarily raise rep with another faction, and necessarily lower it with two others, leaving you with basically a block of three Syndicates that you're raising rep for. Additionally, no matter which block of three you choose (Steel Meridian/Arbiters of Hexis/Cephalon Suda, vs. Red Veil/New Loka/Perrin Sequence), you'll get access to purchase packs of Void Keys quickly.

It ultimately comes down to what Syndicate weapons you want, and which weapon augments you want. For me personally, Steel Meridian, Cephalon Suda, and Arbiters of Hexis both thematically and realistically fit what I like most.

Quick info on Baro Ki'Teer, the Void Trader:

In short, he's a trader that shows up in the Tenno Hubs for each planet, every two weeks. He offers mods, weapons, and cosmetic items that cannot be found or acquired any other way, except for trading for them from other players, which can be very expensive.

The mods he offers are Primed version of good mods, such as Continuity. The difference between the regular Continuity mod and the Primed Continuity is that Primed Continuity has a higher possible bonus, in exchange for having more ranks.

it's also been hinted that there will be a way in the future to change a regular cosmetic item (such as a syandana or a cosmetic chest plate) into an Arcane cosmetic item, which like the old school Warframe helmets will offer stat changes.

As a quick note, the Amprex is an excellent weapon to take down crowds of enemies.

Yes, it has the lowest base damage of any primary weapon, and yes, it only has a range of 18 meters. However, every time it hits an enemy, it "chains" once to the closest enemy, and will continue to do so until all enemies within range have been hit once. It will do this regardless of crit chance or status chance.

The Amprex has the same crit chance and crit damage as the Synapse, so speccing it out to be a crit weapon, with Heavy Caliber added on and the damage modified to be Corrosive, makes for an excellent crowd control weapon. You might have to put a few Forma into it in order to fit all the mods you need, but once you do, it's truly excellent for clearing out a room.

I've been using it recently in Orokin Derelict Survival missions, trying to get my hands on the Nova Prime Systems. For the frame to use, I'd either suggest Rhino (since Iron Skin = win), Valkyr (since she has a terrifying amount of armor, and her ultimate gives her life steal), Oberon (since he can also heal himself), or Trinity (since she can heal herself AND restore power if needed).

If you need some quick Affinity, I'd recommend you jump on Loki or Ash, and perform a Spy mission or three now. Sneaking out with the data without tripping alarms now gives a rather large amount of Affinity, and so do proper Stealth Kills.

Two quick items:

- I've been focusing more on Valkyr recently, since her Armor value is so frightening. She'll need some work, as in another Forma or two, before I can commence proper testing - but the Valkyr's ability to tank without having to activate an ability is unsurpassed by any other Warframe. Her shields are utter crap, of course, but the ability that lets her stun nearby enemies by overloading her shields is very useful. Hysteria, her ultimate, also gives her life steal, which is rather awesome.

- The Tonbo, the new polearm available from the Clan Lab in the Dojo, is much slower than the Tipedo, and though it does more damage, it's slowness can put you off. Seriously, don't let it - the Tipedo is a staff weapon, while the Tonbo is a polearm. The Tipedo is much faster, but the Tonbo has many fun spin moves for its stances that allow for hitting multiple enemies in a radius around you.

More quick items:

- The Torid, the gas grenade launcher from the Infested Lab in the Dojo, works almost as well as the Amprex for Infested Derelict Survival/Defense. The Torid needs some Forma to properly keep up with the damage, much like the Amprex, but its ability to generate high amounts of Corrosive and Blast damage with a high status chance, in a fairly large area, make it pretty good for area denial against Infested. The Firestorm mod, rare though it is, does work to increase the blast radius for each gas grenade, which is rather nice.

- Loki Prime, with the Irradiating Disarm Augment Mod, is the ender of worlds against any faction that isn't Infested (basically, Grineer, Corpus, and Void enemies).

- Archwing stats appears disconnected from the regular game for now. Presumably a fix is inbound.

- New frame, based on a Dragon theme will be released soon.

- Raids (requiring two squads of 4 Tenno each) will be introduced relatively soon. No word yet on what Raids will entail.

So I finally watched the most recent Devstream, #47.

In this one, they talk about upcoming stuff, including PvP modes (such as team capture the flag).

- upcoming PvP modes mean massive rebalancing of stuff, being mindful of PvE play (normal gameplay), as well as PvP play with other Tenno.
- Mastery Tests will be available to take again from the upstairs floor of a Relay.
- a neutral Syndicate (Simaris, the Librarian) will be added, which will require capturing specific enemies to complete tasks for. Personal progress and goals as well as in-universe progress and goals will both go to unlock standing with this neutral Syndicate. This neutral Syndicate will also have its own set of rep sigils, augment mods, and other rewards.
- additional stances for the more esoteric melee weapons are coming.
- Dragon themed frame is coming soon.

RAIDS
- Raids are coming. Raids require 8 players to start, but the Wait screen will show all currently equipped items for all players.
- When a raid starts, according to the Devstream, all eight players will be placed in the same place as a single larger squad.
- enemies in raids will be high level (approx. level 80).
- new room puzzles will be introduced that will not be found elsewhere, that require teamwork and coordination with all eight players to complete.
- areas are wider and larger than usual, and will require greater coordination between players.
- Raids will have 3 stages to them, each stage will require approximately 30 minutes to complete.
- rewards for a Raid will allow a player to add a positive bonus to a compatible cosmetic item (such as a syandana or a helmet). If you complete a Raid again, you can choose to replace the current bonus on an arcane item with a new one.

Baro Ki'Teer, the Void Trader, is back.

He's currently selling:
- the Primed Flow mod
- Eos Prime cosmetic items
- Prisma Liset skin for your ship

The big takeaway is the Primed Flow mod. Get it. You won't regret doing so.
