The shot from the spitter on Eight's shoulder impacted the moving statue square between the eyes and shattered with explosive force, leaving not a single mark on the thing's smooth marble face. It was apparently made of quite sturdy material.

Having the statue swing at him suddenly, Fehl looked rather annoyed. His left hand beginning to glow an ominous whitish-blue, he yelled at the statue before attacking it viciously. "Your father was clay sculpture of a horse's ass, and all the rest of your family hold plants, you confused piece of shit!"

His first downward slice barely ricochet off of the statue, though the second bit deep into the statue's side, discharging.

(EDIT #3: Now things are clear)

Volemack kept in the air, cursing that the others were so close. He couldn't get a clean angle in his present pattern. The little dragon winged over to try and find one that.. If his allies didn't move.. Would offer a chance to blast it with frost.

"Everyone fall back slowly," ceridwen ordered. "Give Volemack room!"

Anyone who didn't get that hint didn't know dragons very well.

Eight looked with apparent apathy as the scene unfolded and his perfectly aimed shot did nothing against the structure of the golem. The golem remained a stoic opposite of the boisterous and noisy Fehl.

Bartel dropped to the cavern floor as the statue started to attack Fehl. Cursing his impetuousness, the cleric seized his holy symbol from his belt and thrust it forward. "Cuthbert, we beseech your blessing," he murmured. His prayer was answered as his allies were suddenly uplifted in hope.

Emotionlessly, the statue thing swung its sword at Fehl's sword, attempting to shatter his weapon but all it managed to do was raise up a shower of sparks and and perhaps nick its own blade slightly in the process. It then jumped down off its pedestal and sped past Fehl towards the others, daring him to strike at it.

Never one to pass up an opportunity (though the little voices still left over from the allip clouded his reason, allowing him to forget momentarily that his sword had almost shattered the last time he had hit this statue), Fehl lost no time in channeling his last charge of the debilitating spell he'd been using into a vicious swing of his greatsword, though he narrowly missed.

(EDIT: he actually missed)

Eight watched with a practiced calm as the creature and Fehl traded blows. Then the golem moved and in almost as sudden of a burst the construct was on the move as well, his Great Axe once again in his hands. The metal monstrosity and the stone colossus collided hard, the sound of unyielding stone crashing against unrelenting metal filling the small cavern. Eight twisted, as did the golem, and he wrapped one leg around its and twisted, nearly sending both creatures sprawling. The creature was unable to catch itself at all and fell hard on its stone face. Eight meanwhile threw his axeblade out and caught himself before he fell. Pushing off from his position the construct hefted his axe high.

The steel blade swung downwards from overhead as Eight let out an inhuman growl of triumph, but the blade did not strick true, merely clipping the creatures shoulder and causing a few flecks of stone to fly into the air. Snarling the construct moved his weight, bringing the Axe around again, this time almost horizontally, spinning the construct like a top as the axe blade came around and caught in the stone golem's side, digging through the stone and leaving a massive crack in the creatures side with several larger chunks of it's exterior scattered across the ground.

"Eight, back off and let Volemack finish it," Ceridwen called out. She could see how little physical force was doing to the statue-golem, so she did not even attempt to fight it herself. Magic was the way for this, and nothing was more magical than a dragon's breath.

Volemack winged over to prepare for another run, this time.. Dammit! The swordsman was in his cone now! They were all acting like big stupids! Nevertheless, he had to hope the fool would withdrawl. He lets his lungs fill up, letting his elemental nature infusing the air, felt the shards of ice welling up...

Tucking its feet under it, the strange construct surged up out of the water, its sword leading as it dared Eight to attack, dared the construct to strike it. However, for all of its grim, featureless resolve the angle was too high and the sword just hit a glancing blow to Eight, skidding off his armoured body, sparks striking off the adamantine plate while the sword went high and wide, completely failing to do damage.

Eight's response was to bring his own axe up and then drop it down towards his foe, but as his axe caught the creature's right shoulder it slipped off and skidded down the creatures arm. Eight cursed the luck of his return blow but, seeing that the creature was far away from most everyone else, the construct decided to retreat.

Taking quick backsteps, Eight moved away from the creature to give the dragon his chance to attack.

Now a safe distance away from the statue that had since been bathed in an annoyed (though youngling) silver dragon's breath, Fehl decided to throw in his own two cents as a red, glowing rock giving off heat waves in the air around it appeared in his hand.

A smirk on his face appeared right before he started yelling. "Hey, you useless overgrown floor tile! Catch!"

With that, the reddish rock leapt out of his hand at high speed, toward the column.

Volemack exhaled. A storm of air cold enough to flash-freeze water and filled with razor-sharp pieces of ice blasted forth, to blanket the construct.

The cone of cold enveloped the animate statue just as the firebolt collided, the intersecting confluence of hot and cold causing a small section of the construct's side to explode out in a shower of marble... and yet it did not fall. Despite the numerous cracks in its surface, despite the ice and burn marks and gouges taken from it, still it stood, sword in hand, ready to fulfill its mission.

"To the Hells with this," Bartel growled, thrusting forward the palm of his hand. A beam of golden light shot from it, bright as a ray of the sun.

[Searing light.

The beam of brilliant light lanced out and struck the statue square in the stomach, flashing marble to liquid in an instant and slicing through to the other side. The construct stumbled back in water still frigid from Volemack's breath, before the tattered clothing it wore and the sword it wielded faded in colour to the same consistency as the stone from which the construct was carved. With a loud popping noise the entire thing cracked and crumbled, the top half completely coming apart around the hole Bartel had burned through it while the legs remained standing where they were.

"Someone did not want people exploring this area," Ceridwen spoke aloud, most likely echoing everyone's thoughts. "Is any one hurt?"

Eight stepped up to the destroyed golem and kicked the remains some to spread them out. Just in case. "I remain undamaged. I would hardly consider this thing a guardian." The construct looked back at the others. "I hope some of you fleshbags brought torches if we're going exploring."

As Eight was talking, Fehl was sheathing his greatsword once again. When he had finished, his left hand emitted a soft glow which nonetheless illuminated the area around him. He began walking further into the cavern, calling back as he went. "Nah, fire is for burning stuff."

Sticking her head out of the soil on the ceiling next to the well hole that had been dug, the ghost asked timidly, "I heard fighting, are you all okay? Did you find my bow?"

"Yes, we found your bow... and your other belongings," Ceridwen said tactfully, not mentioning they were still on the Halfling's body.

Volemack, bravely trying to ignore the pain, got the bow out of his haversack and proferred it to the ghost. "It's all safe and sound now."
