Either place would have worked, I just prefer to roll before I write down my action so that I know what exactly happened and can thus describe it accurately. Incidentally, here is Garxon's opposed check to you

...Since I forgot earlier, and since it's necessary now: Fehl's HP totals.

1st level HP total: 10 (8+2)
2nd level HP total:
3rd level HP total:
4th level HP total:
5th level HP total:
6th level HP total:

That's 10+9+4+6+7+5, or 19+10+12, or 41.

And you have thus far taken 37 points of nonlethal damage.

Both attacks missed (the first he dodged, the second you hit solid armour).

Incidentally, attack of opportunity because he's armed and you're not. Also, for those of you running the math, yes I am subtracting -4 from his attacks for dealing nonlethal damage with a lethal weapon.

Incidentally, for those of you running on the strategy of containing Garxon, I do believe Fehl may have just foiled that one.

I noticed. I'm wondering whether it's better to contain him more forcefully, or let him leave town. I'm not really getting a good sense of what he's going to do; does he seem like he's just going to leave, or is he acting like he's going to go hurt people and break things?

Edit: To clarify, I mean what does he seem like he's going to do to my character, who is there and looking at him? It's hard to tell through text. Not asking for a crystal ball.

Incidentally, am I safe in assuming he just broke quite a few laws?

It's really hard to tell if he actually broke any laws because he had just grabbed the barkeep and he didn't actually hurt him. Considering his later reaction, it was obvious that he felt like he had just been poisoned, so one could make the case that he was acting defensively. Then everyone else started grabbing him and he threw them off and gave warning to stop it.

Then Fehl punched him and tried to get him with a spell. At which point Garxon retaliated and the case could be made that he was simply defending himself. Considering that Garxon knocked Fehl out rather than ripped him apart and Garxon is more pointy than not, it was obvious that he was restraining himself.

You might be able to ask him to come quietly to the local lock up for brawling, but do you really think that's going to work?

As for what he looks like, he looks right a demonic half-dragon about ready to start smashing things, but he did punch and headbutt rather than rip and tear, so its up to you whether you want to try and stop him or hope he just leaves.

I'll hold off for now, then. I don't want to put him in lockup; if nothing else, I'm currently playing a barbarian with the Destructive Rage feat in another campaign, and I know just how much it takes to hold one. Not worth the risk. If he starts wantonly smashing things, you know what I'm going to do.

I guess now we just need to see what Eight and the paladin and the squire make of all of this.

Cure light wounds:

Bartel sacrificed hide from undead for the cure spell.

Rhoenix, we'd decided our characters knew each other from before, but weren't aware the other was in town, right? I think that's changing as soon as Bartel gets a good look at you, unless you changed that idea.

Well, by my count, at least Fehl is now conscious, if still suffering from a massive headache.

Works for me - IM me if you want some details or background info that your character would know about Fehl, then.

He may be conscious, but Bartel's not going to just let him up if he tries to stand, for fear of him going after Garxon again.

My computer's power supply is dead, and this one has no IM programs.

Yeah, after the healing he would have 40 non-lethal damage accumulated out of a possible max of 41, so if you flick him on the nose hard he'll keel over again.

Ah good, your character definitely knows Fehl then.

Your character also, inasmuch as he is indeed a priest, give Fehl some shit for not only losing a fight, but losing said fight so decisively.
