#1 SG-1 vs Atlantis?

Post by Stofsk »

I could be classed as uninitiated into either show. I've watched SG-1 sporadically, mainly the first season or two, and thought it was ok. Sometimes good. I haven't watched Atlantis at all.

My cable has received the Sci-fi channel this month and they've been promoting all sorts of shows, one of which happens to be Atlantis. So what's the story? Is it actually any good?

I quite like it.
It's not that I'm unforgiving, it's that most of the people who wrong me are unrepentant assholes.

Altantis is a SG-1 spin off taking place in another galaxy. The idea is a multi-national team of sciencists, military personale and support persons have been sent to the newly found location of the lost city of Altantis. It's a fun series with some pretty good high points and a nicely inhuman enemy.

I love both SG-1 and SGA (despite being an ignorant fuckwad for not starting to watch SG-1 regularly until s6 or so. Thank Valen for reruns).
I actually like SGA a little better, but both are great SciFi, I love the character interaction, and there's LOTS of details to speculate/wonder about.
Plus SG and Andromeda are the only SciFi currently on. :???:

Atlantis is decent; it doesn't really measure up to SG-1 IMO, but it definitely has promise.

I just wish I could get Sci-Fi channel, I miss my Stargate fix... :(
