Especially now that the tiger knows a few of the secrets they've forgotten.

Ok. Syl needs some more protection, and hopefully Nal realizes this. Otherwise, Trizk is going to go apeshit when Syl gets killed.

Because I really don't want to see Nalifan coming to Kaeryn begging for a Resurrection spell. It'd dent his pride too much.

Actually I don't see Nal begging. Offering to pay yes, he'll pay richly to, he can afford it and he believes in caring for his own. If that fails I see him getting on his high horse and pointing out how much Kaeryn owes him and company and how petty it is to punish Syl over this. Lastly I see him threatening. But never begging.

This is all depending on him not just deciding to go talk to someone else.

My ladyI laughed at your comment, the term "apeshit" was too funny not to . Also trizkel would never expect anyone to do something he would not be willing to do himself.

Not a problem, m'dear.
The really funny thing? Kaeryn would give Trizk less of a rough time over it than she would Nalifan.

A proto-god.

I'm not even going to ask how the thing was created. I am just going to remind myself that the very first adventure I read had Nalifan and Co defeating an Infernal: child of Orcas' rape of a minor goddess.

... Of course then they had the bones of its mother to help make the spells work on it. On the other hand, this proto-god was built to fight Illithids, not magic.

That was the back up plan, but the infernal died because Trizkel held him and Kuuni stabbed him in the eye with a very nasty dagger.

Pity Kuuni's sitting this one out, and you left that 'nasty dagger' at home, isn't it....

Nalifan bites off more than he can chew. Jolan investigates a reputed wolf attack and finds a wounded grizzly. They're both in over their head, but Jolan is doing his duty while Nalifan is being Nalifan.

No, I really don't know why drow like cats, beyond the reasons other people like cats. I might be missing a piece of the puzzle or perhaps they are simply a safe thing to become emotionally attached to.

And they find it easier to let us feed them and care for them.

It takes a terrible thing to make an Elf commit suicide; they enjoy life far too much. Something too tragic, too horrible for them to face recalling, or worse, reliving in Reviere for the hundreds if not thousands of years before them. Only death may give them peace.
- Kaeryn

That was just... horrible, Cat. Hopefully the guards will merely think the HighMaster shoved him out the window.

Have I told you how much I hate cliffhangers? Especially when they're in the middle of such chaotic battling?

I'm assuming that Trizk is laughing because the Eye has shown him Nalifan is there, just in time.

I'm also thinking that the quotation about the Moonsword that would shatter if used by a 'virtuous drow' is just asking for a prophecy to be fulfilled. Of course, what defines a 'virtuous' drow?

The Shattering Swords are a Faerunian artifact, though. Why would they be here? :???:

*uses giant pick hammer to penetrate denseness* All the quotes are from Faerun. The quote also expresses the writer's opinion of drow.

Yes, hence I was addressing Tev. If the prophecy's to be fulfilled, it won't be on this world.

Did I say it was?
While that would be nice, and I personally would find it highly amusing if Trizkel got his hands on the Shattering Sword (Because he's that touch more virtuous than Nal, sorry Cat), I was commenting more on What Makes a Virtuous Drow.

Because what a Drow sees as 'virtuous' is not what a Gold elf would see as virtuous, obviously. Yet, the chances of a Drow becoming the Gold Elf's ideal of virtuous are slim. So, is there a line that the Sindarine have drawn, saying 'this is what will shatter the Sword', or is virtue to be judged by what is in the heart of the Drow who takes up the Sword?
