A.J. yawned as he stumbled out of his bedroom, running a hand through his hair. His wandering eyes focused on a bundle heaped on his couch, and his mind belatedly made the connection.

It's a funny old world. He thought again, tiptoeing over to the bar and prodding the mail retrieval button on his phone. "You have- One- New- Message(s)." The recorded voice informed him dully. "If you wish to listen to the message, press one. If y-" He jabbed the appropriate key impatiently.

Bowman's message played out. He put the earpiece back in it's cradle, sucking the inside of his cheek. I just joined last night- That was fast moving. He pondered. He shrugged and called over his shoulder, tugging bowls and cutlery off the kitchen shelves as he did so.

"Hey! Sleepyhead. Up and at 'em."

Tobin was awaken by a unceasing ringing noise. What the fuck huh? With a groan he grabbed the phone and picked it up.

"Yeah? Un Huh... Um Huh.... Okay see ya then." He said slapping it back down and rolling out of bed. He needed a shower... Maybe two showers.

Em stired and groaned. She pulled the blanket over her head and mumbled. "Uuughh.... when did morning happen?"

She was so tangled in the blankets that when she tried to move she ended up falling off the couch. "Oooww...not helping the hangover."

"I prescribe coffee." A.J. said cheerfully, putting the kettle on as Em untangled herself from the dreaded blanket-beast. He peered into the nigh bare cupboard dubiously. "I hope you still like cereal..." He commented.

"Love it. You forget... I've been living on the streets. Any eatable food is good food." She said, folding up the conqured blanket. She walked over to the counter and tired to tame her tangled mess of hair. She finally grabbed her bad and dug into it pulling out a purse and pulling out a hairbrush. She combed her hair and tied it up in a pony tail.

A.J. poured her a cup of coffee. The placed sugar and milk on the counter. She put a couple spoonfulls of of sugar and a bit of milk and stired it up. She sat and looked at A.J. "This must be really weird for you... I mean I know I'm power wigged at this whole thing. But I never thought that somone I knew was dead only to see them ten years later and have to explain their life over to them." She sighedm "This stuff only happens in the movies, yanno?" She took a sip of her coffee.

A.J. chuckled. "You can teleport and read minds and I can get run over by a semi without feeling it. We're already living in the movies." He shook a box of cornflakes, found it wanting, and swapped it for a larger and more imposing container. He poured himself an extremely large bowl and handed Em the now substantially lighter box.

Em laughed, "Good point." She took the box and a bowl. She poured the cereal into the bowl and added milk and sugar. A.J. handed her a spon and she began to eat.

"When do you think I should go see my parents?" She said a few minutes later. She took a drink of coffee and then another bite of her cereal.

"I don't know." A.J. admitted after a moment. "Not today, anyway; They want us back at the Ultima building."

"Oh yea.. Forgot about that bit. I wasn't at the de-briefing but I got word they wanted everyone involved back in a week. Guess it's been bout that long. Wow. I guess today will be spent signing papers. If I have anytime I'm gonna go see if they can access my old records." She finished up her cereal and coffee. "Do you mind if we get there a bit early, I need to shower and change clothes... I'm not sure but I don't think a corset is proper attire for a government agency meeting do you?" She laughed.

"I don't know. Have you seen what superheroines are wearing these days? Shameless." He said with a smirk. "I'll just get my things together." He said, flinging the empty bowls in the general direction of the sink. A few minues later he was back, a duffel bag slung over his arm.

While he was out of the room she straightened up the mess form breakfast. Ran water int he dishes and put the milk away. When he came back in she grabbed her bag. "Yanno, if you need help unpacking... I wouldn't mind." She smiled, "Well let's get this over with. Oh and I get paid for my work around the building today.. I'll take you out to lunch. Or dinner whichever is closest when we get out."

"Thanks, that'd be great." He said. "Now, I just hope I can get there intact."

Luckily, a few minutes later they pulled up in front of the Ultima building. A.J. puttered his motorbike over to Employee Parking and signed them in.

They walked into the building and made small talk. "So do you know where you're going? I do... I can show you then go get my stuff done or you can come with me and wait while I change." She smiled, "Here follow me." She took him by the hand and navigated him to the room where everyone was meeting. "I'll be back in a few." With that she left him going to go change.

Legacies sat in his alley, his powers were far more tuned now. He could do things he'd never dreamed of before. In the garbage pile to his right he heard a ringing noise. Raising an eyebrow he pulled the cellphone out from under the trash, remembering now that it had been given to him so Ultima could keep in touch.

"Yes? Ah. Of course. You shall see us."

He hung up and disappeared into the shadows.

Garth toweled his ahir dry, before tossing it lightly onback of the couch.

He wasn't expecting the call so soon, but he nodded. "what they don't know right now, won't hurt us. Well, we show up babe. That's all there is to it."

With that, he walked into the kitchen, opened the fridge, and grabbed himself a can of soda.

A shadow removed the towel from the couch and moved to hang it neatly in the bathroom. The civilizing of the ex-bachelor was continuing. Lei herself followed him into the kitchen. "Well... if we have an hour..." she said, admiring the view of his backside as he paraded about. "We got sidetracked the other day, and never did get beignets..." she reminded him, giving him a teasing grin as he turned around with the soda in hand. "Since I think you were complaining about me wearing you out already this morning..."

He chuckled, shaking his head. Life with the half demoness definatly was interesting. And he was getting a far better workout than he ever had.

"I'll do one better.....dinner at the Cafe Du Monde, after the meeting....we won't have time for coffee and beigneit before they want us there."

He opened the soda, and took a long drink, as he walked towards her. I probably should get dressed..

Tobin changed into Blast in the bathroom of a neighboring building. He was gonna have to get a car or something, this crawling out windows shit was getting old. But it had to be done, couldn't excaltly hail a cab in uniform could he?

"I'm starting to see why all the comic heros have a teleporter buddy or can fly or something." He muttered opening the windows. Maybe he was just being paranoid his bloody photo was in his file, but still fewer people saw his face the better for now.

He put the can of soda on the counter, walked over to Lei, and soon had his arms around her, and helping her up onto the countertop....

By the time Argent's silver-limned dragon form teleported into the cafeteria of the Ultimates building with 5 minutes to spare, Little Italy was singing love songs and Argent's hair was still wet from her second shower of the day. Saibot's helmet hid his face and hair.. but he did smell of soap.

Gravitas was 'escorted' into the Ultimas building. This was because you can't frogmarch someone that powerful. The hungover but rapidly-recovering Nova was again in his business suit, really just a full body suit of Eufiber done in tasteful corporate style. He moved to meet with the rest, folding his arms.

Legacies seemed to have appeared outside the building. Casually walking in as if nothing was amiss, his body did not move save to walk, but he was watching everything and everyone. He slowly climbed the stairs, eventually running into Saibot and Argent. The silver figure made the motions of looking at each of them individually, knowing it would make them feel more comfortable around him. The symbiote was simple and straight-forward.

"You smell of sweat and bodily fluids."

Emiline took her time getting dressed. She chose a smart looking brown outfit, slacks and a jacket with a tan undershirt. she slipped on a pair of brown high heeled shoes. She put on her make-up and slung her hair into a low pony tail. She made her way down the hall way and bumped into Argent and Saibot on her way in, Legacies was talking to them. She didn't know Saibot's name but remembered Suzan telling her about Argent. She touch her arm. "Excuse me? You're the one who brought me to the hospital during the fight right?" She asked quietly.
