"It's Tarot, isn't it." she said simply. "Something about him has you scared, because you've somehow sensed that he's dangerous, like I have."
Blast's jaw starting a chewing motion, it helped him think. Who was this lady and how much could he afford to tell her? God, coming out and regstering was suppose to make things simplier not more complex! Gonna have to trod lightly here.

"What makes you think it's Tarot?" He asked carefully.
"it takes two sides to end a war but only one to start one. And those who do not have swords may still die upon them." Tolken

"Because when I mentioned his name, you started to panic..." Argent said simply. "And because when I look at him, I sense a man fighting to keep himself under control, and close to losing it all." She turned her head and looked at Blast with eyes totally black as if they were all pupil, no iris, no white showing. "I sense a man who cares about nothing but himself."

"Congressman Rand, you're the leading supporter in the Senate for mandatory meta registration. What are your thoughts on Ultima and the situation at hand?"

"Well, in all honesty, I don't put much faith in Ultima nor in their ability to find our missing senator. We're putting the man's life in the hands of the very people who caused his kidnapping to begin with. These metas, whether they have a badge or not, are dangerous individuals who we can't risk having in our society. We can't have these deviants running around unchecked. They've been responsible for most of the biggest disasters in the last century. They're a menace and they should be treatest as such."

"Don't you think that's taking it a bit far? There are some metas who wish nothing more then to live peacefully and not bother anyone. We have metas serving in our police forces, fire departments, military, in all walks of life. How do you feel about them? The ones that just want to be left to live normal lives? Don't they deserve privacy and to be left alone?"

"Absolutely not! Any one of them is a potential for disaster. If they're not doing anything wrong what is the problem with them registering their powers? If they're not using them why should it bother them if we have their information on file? It can only help us and them, not hurt them."

"Isn't this akin to racial profiling? What would you say if we replaced the word meta with the word black, or hispanic."

"No, it's not racial in nature. It's not a racist agenda in the slightest. If African-americans or Hispanic-americans could blow up buildings with a thought or control our minds or read our thoughts then I would look at it but lets face it, your average black or latino cannot fly or deflect bullets with their body. It's not racial, it's a matter of national security."

"I see. Well you do seem to have a growing following in various groups across the country. What is your response to these groups calling for your nomination for president? Are you considering running?"

"Well, let me preface this by saying that I'm proud to have the support of all those hard-working dedicated Americans who remain strong in their civic duty against terrorism regardless of its origins. And I was planning to save the announcement for later, but yes. Yes, I am throwing my hat into the ring for presidency."

"Interesting. Well thank you for your time. That was Congressman Rand. Back to you Michael."

"Thank you Anne. In other news the African nation of Uganda has seen a resurgence in turmoial in the last week. A group of political insurgents have launched a campaign against President Museveni. The group, armed with weapons, stormed the capital city earlier today and have seized control of various governmental offices throughout the city. The President has been reported missing and the government seems to be in the midst of collapse. The U.N. is currently considering a peace-keeping mission to Uganda based on a request from the Vice President of Uganda. We'll keep you informed as the situation evolves.

Blast stepped back. Who the hell was this lady?

Argent gave him a sad smile. "I don't either... I just feel emotions." She turned to look across the city, where the sun was slowly lowering itself behind the horizon.

"I should apologise for this morning ... throwing you into the Attack of the Clones like that." Argent was trying not to influence his emotions, although wisps of embarrassment did slip from her control. "I want to say it was nothing personal... just a job... but it wasn't exactly true. I knew exactly what I was doing, and expecting the Clones to beat you down." Her eyes dropped, looking over the side of the building to the street below. "Nothing personal... just beat you down, wrap you up... and deliever another hero to the people paying me." A sigh? A laugh?

"And now, here I am, about to take all of you there as a recon and rescue, because otherwise I get a one-way trip to Spacestation Zero to have my powers locked down with drugs and surgery."

"Surgery? They can do that?" He asked, better to turn the conversation away from Tarot until he could figure out what to do... The Gravity mucky-muck... Yeah that might be a good guy to tap, but how the fuck do you keep anything a secret from a guy who can see the future...

Get another guy who can fuck with time maybe?

Damn.. she was only panicking him more. "I'm sorry... I'm upsetting you." Argent said, her shoulders slumping. "I wanted to help you, try to put you at ease. I'm ... not good at this when I'm not ... artificially tilting your emotions." It was hard to confess how often she did that, and harder still to realize that Saibot and Ember were the only two she never felt she had to influence.

"Odd, isn't it? The one time I want people to really trust me, I'm trying not to use my powers to make them."

Niner reached the roof. His vest was on, and he had grabbed a pair of bassards to protect his shoulders. He had cuffs and a radio with him. Now, just time to wait.

Blast shrugged.

"I honestly wouldn't know. I haven't had these powers long. Got them after a car wreck of all things. At first I just tried to ignore them, but that doesn't seem possible. We are what we are, whether we like it or not. At least for now anyways." He replied.

"I was born this way..." Argent replied, looking at him again as she leaned against the low wall protecting the top of the building. "I..."

Whatever Argent was going to say next trailed off as they were joined by the purple pokemon. She wasn't sure what to think of that one, as he seemed to block any attempted to read his emotions.

Legacies stepped into the firing range. It was empty for now, that was good. He looked down the range and saw the targets. Tendrils lashed out, making precise stab wounds all along them. These were only ten meters out, and legacies could not feel the strain that usually came from extending that far. He reached further, 15 meters, 20 meters. The tendrils stopped, 20 meters, incredible. Legacies stepped out into the vast range, giving him plenty of space as the tendrils began to dance around him in ways he had not thought possible before, it was a thing of beauty.

A tendril smashed through another of the targets, smashing it into pieces, other tendrils lashed out and caught the pieces before they could land. Most interesting. Legacies spent that free hour testing his limits and strengths before he turned practically invisible and made his way silently to the roof.

Niner turned one of his eyes over and noticed the other two. Shadow and the energy shooter.

He made no move to acknowledge their presence. His tail swished a bit in the breeze.

Argent could sense that 'Blast' didnt' think much of this Niner. From what emotions she could pick up from Niner, he felt the rest of the team was beneath him.

Funny... considering she'd not seen him down there fighting Abaddon. Looks like he ran just like she did. "Trying to be standoffish is not a good way to get the team to trust you," she told him, wishing Saibot would find his sword and join them soon.

Niner's head moved less than a milimeter towards her. Then he just closed his eyes and focused, drawing up his energy for the coming mission, and locked down his mind.

Blast could see the energy gathering.

"You know, no one is impressed by that. I can do better in under a minute. Nor does it make you look badass or impressive. It makes you look like a child's cartoon character." He said. He was damn tired of this obessession to be billy bad ass by about half the team. People should prove their shit on the battlefield and leave it there.

Niner opened his eyes again. And spoke with his mind.

If I was trying to impress you, you would be impressed. Now please, can I have some quiet to focus? Or should I go find another rooftop to focus on?

Cam sat and watched as the man continued to slice Avatra's skin. She was getting bored, and she was still hungry.

-Hey, you've muted my powers, I'm not going anywhere. Can I get something to eat?-

Blackheart stepped out onto the roof, his face grim. The agent rolled his shoulders and flexed his hands. Hell beckoned.

Argent's black-on-black eyes looked from Blast, to Niner, and back. Just what they needed, a pissing contest between teammates. "If he's wanting to be left alone, let's leave him alone, Blast." she spoke, trying to calm things down. "Save the fight for the guards at the base, there are plenty of them."

Out of the fear and the now-blank spot of Niner comes a shot of determination and strength, and it pulled Argent's attention over to where Blackheart stood.

Should she tell him what she saw of Tarot? Still undecided, she walked away from the building's edge towards him. He had accepted her during the fight with Abaddon, he was the leader of this group of misfits... she should at least try. "... Blackheart? Can I have a moment?"

It was partially a test of if her powers were back as she shaped the long shadows the setting sun drew across the roof into a wall encircling them. This was something she didn't want Niner or Blast to overhear, and somehow the shadows dampened sound.

"It's about... Tarot." she started, her empathy reaching out gently to 'taste' Blackheart's feelings on the matter.
