Not to long after the door to the roof shut, Alex got up and headed down stairs. Catching up with Blast and Blackheart as he bounded down the stairs in his sunlight-enhanced exuberance.

"Hello again Blackheart, I trust from the new qarrival that your meeting was productive?" he said. Holding out his hand to Tobin

"Pleased to meet you. My name is Alex, or Avatar, depending on what form I am in"

(OOC: if you two went to a different building, let me know)

Niner opened the grate. He knew he shouldnt leave his home, but he was going slightly more crazy being stuck inside. He put on a cloak and ported out. He ported for a while and then sat down on a roof edge near a park. He pulled down the hood and enjoyed the sun. It felt good to be outside. He had an almost unconcious need to be unconfined. Especially since the whole 'grown in a lab as a government plaything.'

He was of course being spyed upon. He was seen by two squirrels, a falconm a sparrowhoawk, 16 pigeons and 9 sparrows. All of the birds were soon perched on the windows of the Ultima building.

"Yes, it was," Blackheart responded. His phone buzzed. "Excuse me for a moment." There was a pause. "Uh huh. Karaoke. At this hour?" Pause. "He's had how much to drink?" Pause. "Got it."

He snapped the phone shut. "Well Gravitas is alive and well and singing karaoke, the sick fuck. He can also apparently drink me not merely under the table but through the floor if the reports on his alcohol consumption are accurate."

Those that had signed on where in a short time brought into a very plain, unadorned office one at a time. A small, petite woman sat behind the only desk in the office. She wore a simple pants suit that seemed typical of all federal agents. She wore her hair up in a professional-looking bun. The perfect image of federal indoctrinization.

As the recruits were escorted into the office she would go over the same things with each of them. Inquiring to thier registration status. General limited background checks, registrations for those that weren't part of the system, the general enormous amounts of paperwork that are required by all federal agencies to conduct the most simple of operations. At the end they were given a short speech thanking them for volunteering and congradulating their dedication and sense of sacrifice for the greater good. A full outline of their benefits was presented as well as more paperwork for them to sign, non-disclosure agreements for anything they worked with, limited job contracts for the length of their employment, etc.

Each in turn was required to read and sign on the dotted lines, to make it official. Afterwards they were all gathered together, raised their right hands and recited the oath of service and loyalty to the bureau and the United States.

Meanwhile, a stack of papers was organized and processed, ending up on Blackheart's desk in his office for his review. They contained full reports from agents on sight at the Sherman incident. Included were what pictures were obtainable from the media on hand as well as what information was known on the villians that were identified. A yellow sticky-note was on the front page stating simply to let the recruits get their shit together and then give them a briefing. Time was apparently very much of the essence in this matter and the upper supervision wanted none of it wasted. A confrence room had already been reserved for the briefing in about an hour. Equipment issue was scheduled for shortly after. Finances and the rest would wait till after they returned from their searches for the day.

Alex looked through everything. He read the fine print and looked over the paperwork with a fine toothed comb. Nothing fishy. Just the usual signing over of constitutional rights and such.

Released from medical ward not a hour after they had taken the inhibitor collar off, Garth Tobias, aka Saibot, had gone through the paperwork and ceremonies for indoctrination into the Ultima Bureau.

He decided he didnt like it one bit. But considering they still had his power ring and dragon saber, he was stuck where he was. Thankfully, they hadn't gotten ride of his suit, and was back into it before the meetings, even down to his helmet.

"So..that was aload of fun.....when do I get my equipment back" he said as he walked up behind Blackheart as he gotoff the phone.

After everyone had signed

"And the little birds have been updating my information regarding that telepath that attacked us last night. I cant keep disrupting the animal's like this, such compulsions arent good for them." Alex said as small birds whistled and squawked at him through the windows.

Legacies walked into the small spartan room, nudging Mark into wakefulness as he went. He chuckled at the small woman behind her desk, she was worse than Blackheart. Mark gave her the lowdown and made sure all the paperwork was still right. He'd been approached before but he'd always turned them down. Mark cut her off as she started her speech. "Yeah, I've heard it. Just let me sign my blood pact already." Mark looked over the stack of papers and made certain that the paperwork made it clear that he was taking on a job, not joining the club. After that he signed and dated it. During the gathering, Mark was more interested in the others than the oath. He'd heard it before, not for metas, but it was all stock speech anyway.

Mark sighed as he left the others in the room. Back to the ball and chain that almost killed him last time. Full circle? He hoped not. Mark didn't listen to the update on the telepath, frankly it didn't consern him much, with any luck he wouldn't come back, and if Niner did, well Legacies would be ready.

Cam sat under a tree in the park, reading. She loved to read, anything she could get her hands on. But she knew the man at the old used book store and got to 'lend' out books. It was a sweet deal, she got to read as much as she wanted and he got his books organized every month. She paused to thnk that she needed to go see him again soon. The man was very sweet and always had a smile on his face. She sat the book down and looked at the pond... A swan was gliding past, and a Duck and her babies were making their way up the bank to nest for the night. She looked at her watch, 5:30 already... Damn... I need a place to stay...

She clacked her tongue stud against her teeth, this time ignoring her made up mom telling her to 'quit that' She reached in her bag and found the pants she had worn when the Croc-man had given her his number and dug in the pocket. She found his card and stood up.

Am I really gonna do this?

Might as well, they know what you look like and probably have figured that your not registered. You don't want to go back to jail do you?

No...She walked to the nearest pay phone, pushed some quarters in and diled the number...

Why does it feel like I'm throwing my freedom aaway?

Alex had the phone in vibrate, and pulled it out of the water-proof belt pouch. and stepped out of the room. Who called him, almost no one called him

"Hello?" He sounded perfectly human.

She was taken back...he'd recognized her voice. "Uh, I'm fine I guess... I actually have a favor to ask you, I know that this is really rude but...." Her voice trialed off and she tried to talk herself out of asking... then blurted it out.. "Ineedaplacetostayandwaswonderingifyoucouldhelpmeout".... She expelled a great amount of air....

Alex it seemed, had the biggest heart in the universe. Had his experience been a little different, he might end up in the same boat. Here was a frightened girl who needed help. What else could he do?

"No, it isnt rude at all. I understand why you ask. I kinda caused your friend to run out on you anyway" he said.

"You can teleport right? My place does not have a land entrance. The door is around ten meters down in the hudson."

He gave the crossroads above his section of subway tunnel

"Now, if you go to the northeast side of the street, and teleport 8 meters down, you will land on the floor of my living room. I have a guest bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. I tend to sleep in my lab. When I sleep... the doors are locked to that, not so much to keep you out, but to keep my pets in... And they arent dogs..they are more like veenomous snakes and alligators so...."

Blast was able to fill the papers without to much help. It was alot like the various paperwork he had to fill out for tution assistence and what not. Hunch over a small desk with a pen he filled out the papers and handed them back the lady. The speech sounded pretty rehersed but then she likey did this very often.

Taking the oath was an interesting moment for Blast. His Father had taken the same one basically. What had he been thinking when he did this? Was it the same things he was thinking? Same things he was feeling? He shook his head afterwards, there was a briefing, he had to focus, stay clear headed. Some of these guys looked shady.

"Hehe, yeah, I have snakes. Dont worry, they wont bite unless they feel either they, or my equipment is threatened." he chuckled again

"Dont worry, It is no trouble at all. I tend to think that I come across the people I do for a reason. And it seems that I was ment to help you."

She got the directions again and said her thank you's. Cam hung up the phone and walked into the nearest public bathroom, stepped into a stall and teleported to the corrdinates the he had given her. She hoped it was the right spot and slipped around a corner to 'port down to the lair... Unfortunately, she missed her mark and landed in the water. Remembering what he'd said about his 'pets' she quickly swam to the ledge and climbed up. She was soaked and so was her nap-sack, meaning all of her clothes were wet was well...

Damnit...

This was going to be fun with a capitol F, she could tell. She felt rather weird rummaging through his things but she needed a towel. She found one and a used it to dry off she laid her clothes out to dry and found a chair to curl up and fall asleep in...

Anderson perched on the edge of the building roof, binoculars at his eyes, scanning the cityscape. He pressed a button at the side of the binox, and they chirped as the laser rangefinder darted across the sky. He noted the distance meticulously on his leg pad, and repeated the action.

Eventually as it began to get into late afternoon, he had circumscribed a 360-degree arc.

Below the building, the scorched mess of the previous day's fracas was being cleaned up.

He made a last sweep of the binoculars across the roofs. Something caught his attention; he zoomed in, and eyes narrowed under the mask.

A few minutes later, the van rolled quietly down the street.

Mark 25 walked away from the security checkpoint. The men on duty were not surprised at his appearance, they were trained in the strange ways of metahumans, but something about this one seemed…off. His credentials checked out, so they had let him through, but they would feel uneasy for the rest of the day. Meanwhile, through the hallways of the Agency, the methodical beat of metal on stone resonates as Mark 25 begins his search. His orders were given at his home office, find Operative Blackheart, join task force, follow orders of task force leader. In his display, the targeting system was turning up endless negative matches. Upon seeing a security officer, he stopped, turned toward the smaller man and looked down.

“I am seeking Operative Blackheart. Please relay last known position.â€Â

Legacies stopped and looked the newcomer over. Yep, he was a professional. Well, a cold as ice killer, but they were often the same thing. Legacies took another look around the room and noticed somebody was wearing old combat boots like he used to wear. He looked to young to have been in the military then. The silver figure walked up to the boy. "Had family in the military?"
