#1 Which familiar do you use?

Post by The Dark »

Just an idle question...which familiar do you mainly use? If anyone would like to explain why, feel free.

Right now, I'm using the blood-faced volleyball, since it boosts stat gains. Previously I was using the mosquito for the blood-sucking.

I'm currently leveling my ghost pickle on a stick. I've fully leveled a mosquito and a baby gravy fairy. Next to be leveled is a blood-faced volleyball, and there are plenty more after that.

My preference is for my Cocoabo, Navajo Wolf. But right now I'm busy leveling up the ones that will be required for the Naughty Sorceress quest.

Stupid frickin' Angry Goat is useless, let me tell you.

Cocoabos are cool. They can get you extra meat, confuse your opponents, attack them outright, or recover HP and MP for you.

Damnably enough, it seems like every time you rest up to recover your HP and MP, that's when they choose to do the restoration bit. *grumbles*

Hands down, the best place to get stuff for familiars is Looks Familiar in the mall. Check the KOL Wiki to find out what goes with each familiar.

I said "blood-faced volleyball" because I've used ol' Spaulding the most, but once they hit 20 pounds I switch 'em out with a new one. I haven't decided what I'll use next. Probably the sombrero.

Barrrnacles suck. *grumbles* But I just acquired the Minimech. After I finish leveling the stupid Barrnacle and the Saber-toothed Lime up, I can't wait to give that baby a spin.

Boko the Cocabo rocks. He got me through Penultimate Fantasy land easy. Very, very versatile. Has powerful attacks, powerful healing.

Also good is My name's Voit, Dumbass, the Blood-Faced Volleyball. He's a handy secondary.

Right now, I'm leveling up Budgetastic Death Star, the Star Starfish.

"My name's Voit, Dumbass"?

Is this another case of me being painfully oblivious to a pop-culture reference?

Family guy. They did a parody of Castaway, with Peter screaming on the raft to the ball.

Peter: WILSON!!! WILSON! WHAT'RE WE GOING TO DO NOW?!?! WILSON! WILLLLSOOON!
Ball: My name's Voit, dumbass.

From what I am guessing by its description, it's best to use Grue during or near full black moons.

Barrrnacle is the most useless familiar in the world and it comes to no surprise as it sell less than a thousand meat.

I ue my Ghoul Whelp, Nibbler the Hungry, almost exclusively. Since it heals HP and MP, it's nice to have when I fight creatures I can't hurt enough with the staff. I might start pulling my mosquito, Mippy, out of mothballs for trips to easier areas where I don't need to cast spells. I also have a Grue, which I haven't used. I think there's a new moon now, so I might take him for a spin.

Grue is supposed to be quite powerful at high levels in the dark.

I'm working on my Star Starfish some right now, since Saucegeyser sucks up huge amounts of MP, but it's the only way I can win my battles right now. I'm almost to the point of having to rest after every battle.

My recent preferences have been for the Maple Leaf (for low levels) and the MagiMech (or whatever it is) for high levels. Both are post-ascension familiars.

I'm using the Baby Gravy Fairy for now...
will lvl the Cocaobo after I got the BGF leveled up, for usage in my rummaging for supplies and eventual opening of my own store.
