B4UTRUST wrote:*glances at Cyn* Yeah, and every commander knows EVERY troop under his command. Right...

Shit, the commander of my 400man unit doesn't know everybody's name. And I damn well guarentee you that my base commander doesn't know the name of every individual on my base...

So the idea that the general doesn't know the name of every one of his soldiers isn't really far fetched, regardless of whether or not he's got a computer for a brain. Hell, I guess I need to go out and start pointing out examples of Optimus not knowing Autobots before...
Yes, your base commander is a millions of years old robot with a super advanced computer brain. Oh wait, he isn't. Optimus's style of command is very personal and these are all people under his direct command. Yeah, he's going to know them.

DS has made his ruling and it is his call as a GM. No one has given me any good reasons why Optimus wouldn't know him, but the GM has spoken. I am exercising my right as a player, to let the GM know he has made, in my opinion, a bad call.

I don't give a flying fuck about any previous examples of Transformers stupidity. I may like the series, but much of it was horribly written. The parts of it that are trash and contradictory to their nature and capabilities should be thrown out like trash.

You would do the same thing in his place, giving the Player a chance to pull his ass out of the fire he put himself in.
No, I wouldn't and I haven't. Go ask Umbras about how many times I've killed players if you want confirmation. When a player wants to play an infiltrator for the enemy, I warn them that they have made an enemy of the most lethal force in the game, the other players. If they still go ahead with character creation, they do so knowing they are walking a tight rope. B4 was given a particularly powerful character because of his infiltrator mission. He's already gotten special GM consideration not only in his character concept but in with his character's power level.

When you show mercy on a player in this kind of situation, you are showing GM special favor and altering the game world against the other players. There are times for GM mercy, but when one player is in conflict with others, mercy is favoring one player above others. I won't, and don't, do it.

I stated to Tev and others that I have no investment in this character. Kill him, don't kill him, I'm not concerned either way. He won't go quietly, of course, but *shrugs*

The gameworld is pretty much tilted against the players anyway...the badguys are the dominate force, with a army which if fully activated and used, would crush the PC's and thier allies with little real trouble.

To be honest, I'm not showing B4's character anymore favoritism than I would for anyone else in this situation. i'm trying to AVOID a PC death this early, but if he can't make it past Prime and the others....then yeah, Ice won't be making it out alive.

Wheeljack in the cartoons wasn't that creepy, but he was still your typical mad scientist. He was a bit more pronounced in this role in some of the comics. Wheeljack was creepy. He was the type of bot who would pin a beetle to a board to watch how it worked before it died...

Who me? Pattern a Autobot created to be a sapient war machine after vastly effective and honorable war machines who served well and nearly without flaw? Would I do a thing like that? Don't answer.

Dammit! Why are you having the battle while I'm at WORK!?!?!

DS? Consider Crimson to be moving from cover to cover, taking sniper shots as the occassion arises. Most of the shots will be no more than annoyances, minor injuries; but hopefully she'll hit just when another Autobot needs a moment to get a better shot. NPC her if you need someone to help out an Autobot, but the grenade trick is something that waits for LastResort.

Or Chimera in BotForm

Damn right.

Unfortunately. Those guns don't help very much when going up against Menasor and Predaking all by ourselves...

If I'd read that about Blitzwing, I'd have aimed for his damaged back and took him down.

Think a EMP-style burst of Energon will break apart a Combiner?

because I got confused during the battle today with placements of everyone, i went ahead and made a map

REFER to it people, and refer to the scale also.

Image

the grey boxes on the defensive lines is the portions which do not have a activated or completed defensive system in place.

Building E is the Living quarters for TF's and humans.

Building D is unknown usage for now...Megatron and company are currently in the air above the Maint. buildings

I was MANIFESTLY not kidding at all. Hornet is precisely what he was advertised to be. Be forewarned...

And Hornet was told that when in doubt, he should focus on a Decepticon that is already engaged with someone else. A single well-placed shot can disintegrate him, but his weapons are actually reasonably effective against standard Decepticons. He'd actually have shot at Dirge if Stryke weren't presently trying to beat his brains out.

Great, Breachload is currently sitting pretty in the middle of Decepticon central.

This isn't gonna end pretty.

In other news, how the hell do I ALWAYS get my characters in situations that get the ever living crap beaten out of them?

At least Breachload can survive said beating. Hornet is dead meat as soon as a Decepticon bothers to shoot at him.

That's true, but Hornet is hard to hit. Breachload is practically wearing a sign saying "Place fusion cannon shots here" while he's tangling with Predaking.

Predaking and Menasor.

Fuck! We're not even a full Combiner of power, but we're brawling with two!

Time to see if those shields have Conservation Of Momentum.
