#1 Paranoia

Since my last game failed due to two of the three players leaving and never coming back*glares glarey-death at the two* I've finally decided to give it another go at Paranoia.
This time I'm going to set my eyes on some of the classic paranoia campaigns that made Paranoia great. If we manage to get through a few of these babies with a solid player base then I'll move on to a more custom campaign.

In a totally non-staged-for-everyone-else's-benefit question, what rulebooks will you be allowing? And stuff like that?

Well, generally I prefer 1st, 2nd or XP. Me or 95 is right out. They were too horrible to even count as true paranoia.

My only encounter with rules for Paranoia was XP, and I laughed my ass off at it. It's so very wonderfully updated for our modern life. BUT FEAR THOSE COMMIES.

I'll help anyone who needs it.
Here's a
link to the pdf file I compiled for the first game. Less then a meg so it won't be too intense on even 56kers and it's 39 pages in length, going into details about character creation, some of the history of our wonderful alpha complex, friend computer, the whole point of the game, etc.
Hopefully that will answer any questions that people have.

It's a bad sign for your continued existance when all you roll on the tables for 'Service Firm' and 'Secrety society' is 'Other: See GM'.

Ah. Is it too late to opt out? Or at least hide behind something large and durable?

And as with last time, don't post your character sheets to the board. That is absolutely forbidden. PM them to me for approval instead. After all, we wouldn't want anyone here to be accused of being a commie mutant traitor because they have a special power now would we?

Citzens, in the interest of fair play and assisting those with limited or no prior experiance with this glorious game, I, your humble and benevolent GM of grace and mercy, have a mission for the lucky team of troubleshooters that will guide them swiftly and faithfully into the heart of the Complex. It is a quaint, simple and mandatorily safe and fun mission that will assist the learning curve of some of the newwer clones and refresh the memory of those who have been mindscrubbed one to many times by Int Sec.
This great and glorious campaign of absolutly treason-free enjoyment is set in the classic style of Paranoia that some of our vetern players remember from the great old daycycles of 1st and 2nd edition.
And PCM, you think she's bad? I managed to convince the computer that as an infrared clone I was really an ultraviolet and got promoted to it, managed to get half a dozen other ultra-violets demoted and executed for treason and caused the computer to go catatonic in three sectors from trying to process the looped logic I used to do this.

Ah. Well, I think I'll non-treasonously chicken out.

If Rukia is still playing I'll have 5 players for this mission, which is perfectly acceptable. At this point I'm still waiting on sheets from Nitram and Rukia if she is playing. I have DS's old sheet for John-R-BKL as well as Dev and Comrade's sheets.
As soon as I get the last sheets in the game will begin.

he had a few questions on his that needed to be answered before fleshing it out. Those have since been dealt with and I am awaiting his sheet

I will say to those who have been intimidated by what tev has told you about me, those things happened in two separate campaigns; the first was my FIRST TIME PLAYING tabletop Paranoia, the other was my FIRST TIME PLAYING live-action Paranoia....
In other words, the less you know, the better your chances of survival

Welcome to Paranoia. Nobody knows whats going on, who's in charge, why they're doing it or why it is exactly that R&D can't design a good weapon to save their life, but can reinvent chapstik over twenty times.
