I have to use Windows 2000 at work, and it actually works decently well early in my shift, but as they system stays on, it pages out almost everything. So if I get about 20 minutes before a call and I leave the call management program running, it pages the whole thing out. This means that when I do get a call, I have to stall the customer while I wat for it to page back in.
Now, I could understand if it pages it out when I am doing something else, but it does it whan I am simply idling!
And what I really hate how I have to restart the whole damn computer to reclaim the virtual memory. It will swap like nuts even after I close all programs until I restart the computer.
Is this normal (meaning Microsoft can't write memory management), or is it not normal (meaning the local admin is more of a moron that I thought)?
edit: added compliant about restarting
Win2k seems to randomly page
