#1 AL parents try to have Fahrenheit 451 book banned

Post by rhoenix »

I wasn't sure whether to put this here, in S&L, or in N&P, as it falls either way. But regardless - yes, you read the thread title correctly.

Youtube link to broadcast of news:

As another user on another forum wrote as his comment, "Let that one roll around in your head a little bit. I mean really try and think about it. Banning a book about the evils of banning books."

For my comment...the two parents trying to get this book banned do absolutely nothing to help their cause in the interview.

Again?

No seriously, we go through this with the same freaking book at least once every decade.

True. However, the advent of the Internet makes this sort of thing much, much funnier, and all the more delicious as a public spectacle.

It's annual demonstration of irony day, apparently.

Gosh.

Some of the comments left there are hardly better. I went and responded to one of them:

Um, this comment is about as ironic as the video itself. I guess that makes it meta-irony? :)
It really is. Some people never seem to learn. :???:
