and how women should only go hiking with a man,
Going hiking in a group is actually safer, but seriously you're likely just as safe with another women(or two) as you are a guy. Not just because of the 1 in a million asshole freak, but if someone trips and falls, gets attack from an animal or has a reaction to a plant or insect sting.

If you're really worried, go armed, just don't be retarded about it, do not blast away at anything that twitches. Only fire if you A: Have a for real, eyes on target that you can see (not I "know" actually see) is a human being/other predator who means you harm. B: You are absolutely certain that you're in danger. If you can say you have a gun, do so. Shooting should be the last thing you try to do ideally, but if it gets down to it, better him/it then you.

Yes I know it's unlikey anyone on the board actually needs this advice but some things are better off said.

I think most if not all of us could spare the 15 seconds or so needed to read that advice which regardless of wether or not it was needed is sound.
And while I still think assuming ANY doctor will let you die rather than saving you so he/she can harvest your organs is paranoid (which B4 never debated to begin with), having watched 'The Island' yesterday morning I'm slightly more understanding about WHY people would be paranoid about it, I think.

Because people who watch stupid movies are more likely to believe stupid movies?

A point I forgot to make earlier: if Britain does pass the law, in ten years, nobody's going to notice the difference and very few people are going to be bothered by it anymore (very few being about the same amount who are bothered by blood transfusions and the like).

Storytime update 8/31: Frigidmagi might be amused by this one.

Apart from it turning into a mindless action movie halfway through I rather liked The Island. My point WAS that in a society largely unaquainted with how medicine in general and especicially cloning and organ donations work, if I didn't already know it was garbage that movie might affect my opinion about organ donation.

@B4: Hate to break it to you man, but I'm at risk for a shitload more health problems than you. Liver cancer is among them. My spleen should be okay, though why anyone would need a spleen is beyond me.

But yeah. Generally, I'd rather people were encouraged to do the right thing than the government doing it for them.
