Look, my boy is one of the few characters DS's little power ranger doesn't have a grudge against and he can't really hurt Blast. So yes my move made sense. Assuming it's him and not a shapeshifting demon in disguise.

Yeah, it does make sense in game.
I'm just saying that out of game, we should vaporize it, the room, and the rest of the facility. From orbit. With a nuke.
It's the only way to be sure.
Oh, and DS, the lamebulance called, they said that you need to come in for your shift.

This is the saibot from his little rape scene, isn't it.
Don't let him see Argent, Blackheart, or Legacies.

And from a OOC standpoint, If that is the real Saibot, congratulations, you just commited at the very lest, manslaughter.
And to be technical; Saibot has no grudge against anyone in the group - he just has a strong dislike for Metahuman's in general, which he was working through.
The thing in the tunnel's don't count; he literally wasn't himself =p
Oh, and Hotfoot, suck my middle nut.

Oh well, we're on a black op. People die, boo-hoo.Dark Silver wrote:And from a OOC standpoint, If that is the real Saibot, congratulations, you just commited at the very lest, manslaughter.
Yeah, because being brainfucked by a meta into "loving" her was so totally going to help in the long run.And to be technical; Saibot has no grudge against anyone in the group - he just has a strong dislike for Metahuman's in general, which he was working through.
He was mindfucked, but he was himself. It's not like he was possessed or anything, just high. It's pretty damn clear he was willing to kill what he thought were his teammates and lover without a second thought if he felt he needed to.The thing in the tunnel's don't count; he literally wasn't himself =p
Son, that's not a nut, that's what happens when you've lost so many man points that your penis withdraws from the public to hide in your scrotum. Don't worry, it's a common condition, and while there is no ultimate cure*, it is treatable. Consult your doctor or bartender for details, and see what your options are.Oh, and Hotfoot, suck my middle nut.
*Legend says that a cure could be found by sleeping with a woman without payment being involved, but the likelihood of such an act being possible with an inverted pecker is so miniscule as to itself be inverted.

Hotfoot in all seriousness I don't think either of our characters would voluntary be a party to killing the real Saibot, if this should be him. Keep in mind we're not playing harden vets or mercs here, we're playing a pair of college kids who just discovered they have superpowers.

I know that. That's why I'm not saying this IN game.frigidmagi wrote:Hotfoot in all seriousness I don't think either of our characters would voluntary be a party to killing the real Saibot, if this should be him. Hey! There are only 3 people allowed to kill Saibot, under any version: Blackheart, Legacies, and Argent.
Although if Saibot injures Argent again, Tachyon will bring down the pain as well.

If it was the real one, it saves me the trouble of having to nuke Saibot's twisted vision of a Metahuman reserve.

Okay, so.
B4 talked to me a few days ago, and this game came up. Honestly I hadn't given it a close look until recently, but he convinced me to look at it. I did, and I'm now predictably interested in playing. Surprise, I know.
So, at his suggestion, I'd like to get input on character concepts. I'll post a few, and I'd like to see what people in this game think. These will be brief concepts, as I'll write the fluff for them later. Despite how one of them may look, they're both meant to be on the hero side of things, not villain.
= = = = = = = =
Name: Demi-fiend
Type: Ascended demon
Powers:
- Devour: Can psionically/magically eat a defeated foe's powers, leaving them on death's door and permanently without any abilities, making them effectively an ordinary human being (if they weren't human or metahuman to begin with, then they become as capable as an ordinary human being, their extraordinary-ness taken from them). What's more is that the Demi-fiend now has one of their abilities to use as his own (as the others are effectively discarded), which can be developed and used as if it were his in the first place.
As a downside, not including Devour and Familial Immunity, he can have a maximum of three Devoured powers. If he Devours a fourth, he must discard one of his previously devoured powers. He cannot recover a discarded power, except to Devour a similar ability from a new victim.
- Familial Immunity: The Demi-fiend cannot be harmed in any way by his own powers, directly or indirectly. (e.g. if he absorbs the fire control ability of a fire demon, he cannot be harmed directly by the fires of his own making, but if he burns out the foundation of a building and part of it falls on him, Familial Immunity confers no immunity.)
= = = = = = = =
Name: Luminous
Type: Metahuman
Powers:
- Light Control: Capable of manipulating light particles and waves; can become invisible by wrapping light around him, can generate light from as diffused as a flashlight to as fine a point as a laser capable of cutting or burning.
- Psionic: More than empathy and telepathy (passive reception and two-way), he is capable of manifesting psionic shielding, psionic blades capable of cutting solid matter or knocking a sentient being unconscious, creating hallucinatory illusions that select targets can sense, and creating psionic storms over a small area that vary in strength from causing sentient beings within the affected area to fall unconscious from overload, to actually causing physical harm to sentient beings within the area.
= = = = = = = =
These are two character concepts I came up with so far. My personal favorite for playing would be the Demi-Fiend, but I also included Luminous as a backup.

The Familial Immunity is too powerful.
It's not that I'm unforgiving, it's that most of the people who wrong me are unrepentant assholes.

Perhaps you're right. What do you think of making it so he's immune to his own powers completely, and resistant to the same power from other sources?Cynical Cat wrote:The Familial Immunity is too powerful.

That's the problem. He gets to pick three cool powers from defeated villians, switch out the ones he doesn't like and he gets defences with each power he picks up. And they're potentially very broad and they all stack up.rhoenix wrote:Perhaps you're right. I'm not unsympathetic to an infernal power leech character, but honestly I think it should be a secondary power that is limited and supplements your core powers, not the center of your character. As the core, there are three serious problems:
1) Heinous power mad combos
2) rampant GM shafting to keep 1) from happening
3) Lots of GM effort to deal with 1 and 2. If the GM has to work on a constant basis to balance your character's power level, its gotten screwed up.

Excellent points. I do acknowledge that this character concept has the potential to become rather upsetting, and I'm quite open to toning it down so it doesn't cause involuntary retching when reading the description.Cynical Cat wrote:I'm not unsympathetic to an infernal power leech character, but honestly I think it should be a secondary power that is limited and supplements your core powers, not the center of your character. Editing to show that he'll only be immune to his own effects of his own powers.

Revised and expanded character. The Demi-Fiend has been ditched because cool though he was, he's just an utterly wankish character concept. So:
Real Name: Unknown
Aliases:: Luminos, Archon, Lightbringer
Basic Description: Male, approximately 20-35 years old, 6'3" tall, athletically slender build, weighs 200 pounds. Black hair, Caucasian complexion with vaguely Persian traits, irises of eyes are as black as his pupils, with no perceptible difference between the two. When his abilities are active, his irises effectively disappear, though this does not impair his vision.
Origin: Unknown. Witnesses describe him as being "pushed through a part of the air as if it were made of Reynold's wrap," with him bursting through in short order to fall to the ground below. Subject had many injuries upon "entry," and feverishly mentioned several confusing things; one of which was "I'm not like them, I'm a disgrace for not wanting to kill without reason, I escaped..."
Species:Unknown. Near-human/metahuman genome, with puzzling differences.
Psychology: Tends to be direct and concise when speaking. Has not displayed a sense of humor, but apparently tries to learn. Subject is apparently quite intelligent, able to understand and extrapolate concepts quickly; learned conversational and written English in two months from the two case workers assigned to him.
Powers:
- Control over light waves/particles: Subject has displayed capability of changing, creating, and nullifying light sources. This includes, but is apparently limited to: changing the direction of light sources, redirecting light around him to become effectively invisible, generating light finely enough to be considered a laser (capable of cutting or burning).
- Psionics: More than empathy and telepathy (he can receive emotions, and have two-way communication with thoughts; he must think of his target to read thoughts and emotions), he is capable of manifesting psionic shielding to protect him against physical and psionic attacks, psionic blades capable of cutting solid matter or knocking a sentient being unconscious, creating hallucinatory illusions that select targets can sense, and creating psionic storms over a small area that vary in strength from causing sentient beings within the affected area to fall unconscious from overload, to actually causing physical harm to sentient beings within the area. Subject is also capable of telekinetic feats, giving him the capability of flight, striking targets at a distance, or moving objects up to 1 ton in weight.

Uh, can I just say I don't really like that Psionic ability? That's just too much to add with the laser power.
