First he'll need to know his mule's missing. They're still in the office last I checked.

While I think it would be a good life lesson for the dragon to realize that just paying someone for something doesn't always work, especially if you make no guarantee that the correct person will get the payment and they have no idea on the transaction, I think skipping ahead will probably be for the best.
So who wants to cut to the chase by saying that Volemack did wander off with Bartel's mule and they can discuss the moral and ethical rammifications of his short sighted actions on the trip to Blackdell?

Also, I'm sure you and Eight are going to have a barrel of laughs with the overeager Volemack at Bartel and Ceridwen's (especially Ceridwen's expense).

...perhaps too quiet?
In any case, rolling this along now, you can work out exactly what happened amongst yourselves. And prepare for the screaming and running to start.

Yes, those poor creatures won't know what hit them. Eight might almost feel bad for making them scream and run.

Hmmm... oh, look at that, warforged are in fact not immune to mind effecting spells and abilities.

Just wait until I pick up the appropriate levels...
Fleshbag.
And still, it'll probably take an actual magical effect to get him screaming, not just the normal fleshy emotions that gets you squishy things crying for mommy.

Oh, the magic is incoming, trust me on that.
Also, I do believe that with the wisdom penalties and being a fighter, Eight has an absolutely atrocious will save.

Fehl certainly wouldn't live long enough to make Eight regret it too long.
*checks his own will saves* Thank God I decided to get a feat that bumped it up to a +4 instead of just a +2...

Hold on, before anything nasty pops out, I'm going to prepare a new spell list for Bartel. I want to get it out of the way now so we don't have to worry about whether or not I was influenced by an encounter you posted.
I'm just glad the merchant arrived before he woke up, because had he been to prayer first, he'd be decked out to feed and water a bunch of people rather than fight anything.
Oh, and I have a feeling we're going to find out why my house rules include an increase in area for the paladin's auras.
Edit: Done.

Okay, Bartel has just been hurled 120 feet out towards the fields, he's unharmed but he's probably pretty surprised.
