So yes, main plot, moving on. Don't let it get ahead of you.

Don't look at me. I can't post yet. Eight's still just the stupid robot in the eyes of the mayor and dispelling that myth would lead to problems.

You're right, your utter silence is roleplaying. Thus, I give you the choice: sharp or dull for your flaying knives?

This is why being the lackey (even if its just a presumed lackey) sucks. Everyone thinks you're not worth as much, and you often don't get a voice at the negotiating table.

Oh man Eight is gonna be pissed. A War Machine being put on the same level as a freaking squire? And repair and maintainance during and after would totally be more than half a pound...

The clerk is assuming you're not very bright, hence why you're following Fehl (zing!), although I'm sure Eight already has an arrangement worked out with Fehl to argue for more money in these sorts of situations.

Of course, considering the squire's true nature he is probably worth more than a half share anyway, but they don't exactly want to let that on.

Dragons are dragons, but six year old ones still gnaw furniture without supervision.

You're playing this hatchling frighteningly well. Well done, Nitram.

IRWriter86: Eight is cuddly, I swear.
steeleffigy: "cuddly?"
steeleffigy: Yes, he could certainly star as the host of his own children's program
IRWriter86: He could.
steeleffigy: as Smoochy The Golem
IRWriter86: It would only last one episode though...
steeleffigy: ...maybe less
IRWriter86: Maybe half an episode... Depends how fast the kids run.
steeleffigy: or how trusting they'd be in the first place

Well, I was going to note that perhaps Fehl is going to be getting the half share here, but it looks like its already been sorted out.

Ok, now I have a question. Since Fehl has mentioned his construct's name is Eight, how likely is it that the others will start making connections? And how likely is it that they've heard of the living construct Eight before?

It's a big country and surrounding areas, and no one but you has the sort of Knowledge skills to have actually paid much attention to such stories, so at your level its kind of unlikely.

When you guys are ready to stop chatting and move on, just let me know and I'll do a scene transition.

I'm ready to go now. Bartel doesn't want to waste any time; that village was his responsibility. He fully intends to go pack his cart and set out without wasting further time.

An impatient DM!

Awesome.

Yeah, once Nitram speaks up, I think we'll be good to go. Eight will...introduce himself somewhere along the way, I'm sure.

Not necessarily. The golem is simply making an observation. You already said that he is capable of speech. He's simply using very simple logical deductions. Everyone else has a horse, if we're gonna keep up we're gonna need something.

Leaving aside the minor issues of "displays independent action, thought, and reason" and "spoke unbidden by its 'master'," you're absolutely right.

I'm going to let the Dragon deal with the Golem.

Ceridwen and the Cuthbertian are going to be interesting playmates. Bahumet and Cuthbert's churches had a falling out a while back

Hey, you're the one that already said he talks too much. And you had been referring to him, and transportation was still remotely topical. No it doesn't all make sense, but for most people it still makes more sense than "Sentient Construct."

You know what would be funny right now? If Bartel came forward and asked, "Where'd my mule go?" and then Ceridwen whacked Volemack upside the head for being an idiot and telling him, "What have I told you about checking if something already belongs to someone else?"

But that is just my opinion.
