Considering a good portion of the REST of the party? Namely a thief, albeit a good-meaning thief. An alien who has gone on record for attempting to kill members of his own party, repeatedly, and the leader who is slowly being compromised by a demon that wants nothing more than to burn everything.

Yeah, you're a hero.

Tev, if a minor Relic bothers you more than an innate Holy power, I'll change it. Give me 2 minutes, and I'll edit this post to include the new version.

EDITS: Added healing, innate ability to smite people, and changed the appearance a little. Decided to make him a little more conspicous, so I made him taller. The healing should help the rest of the group quiet a bit, though I'm not really sure how it would work with those of you with a little demon in you, whether by infection or inherited. I'll leave it up to you and Scottie to decide that point.
-----------------------------------------------

Brother Hector Corvalis
Age: 29
Appearance: Brother Hector looks like a man at peace with the world. A perpetual smile graces his blocky countenance, and his cheerfully gleaming green eyes make it difficult to notice the faint scars that are all that remain from his youth as a hell-raiser. His head is shaved bald, but his hair color is dark enough to make out the stubble, and judging on the location of his hairline, he will probably be naturally bald before too long. He is exceptionally tall, standing at 6' 2", and his broad-shouldered frame is layered with enough muscle to make him especially conspicous.

Brother Hector wears ash-grey robes that resemble those worn by the Fransicians, complete with hood and white rope belt, though he does own normal clothes and will wear them if it is prudent. Heavy boots are visible under the hem, the toes capped with shining metal and the boots themselves fastened with thick buckles. The medallion he wears depicts a European-style dragon with its tail coiled around its neck and a cross on its back, and is made of either well-polished steel or slightly dulled silver. It appears to have been stamped rather than cast, and the chain it hangs on is heavier than one would expect on a piece of jewelry.

Powers:
-Strength: 20 ton lifting capability. 'Nuff said.

-Durability: Part of lifting 20 tons is not snapping a hip. Bludgeoning attacks, crushing implements, and ballistics are virtually useless against him, while stabbing and cutting injuries are partially effective. They can break the skin, but his muscles are as tough as cured leather, making it hard for a normal person to really do any damage that way. Anything else affects him normally, and he has become wary of burns.

-Power of Faith: Brother Hector has a wide array of powers that he accredits to the Almighty, stating that he has been gifted with them so that he may better carry out the Will of God. There are four which are easily noted, specifically the abilities to create light, heal the wounded, smite his enemies, and something he calls the Eyes of Faith. Most other uses of this power are extremely subtle, and the effects very minor.
--The Eyes of Faith allow him to see a person's true nature. He sees people as they are, not as they appear, and things that are beyond mortal view. Much of what he witnesses is kind of a visual metaphor, leaving him to puzzle out what it actually means on his own.
--The light he can create is a soft white glow that has no obvious point of origin, but follows him unerringly. The area lit is variable, fluctuating as he needs it to.
--His healing abilities, while potent, are limited to physical injury, and only those inflicted on someone other than himself. They stop just shy of bring the dead back to life, something for which he is grateful. He has no desire to be mistaken for Christ ordering Lazarus to exit him tomb.
--Smiting is the most obvious. His fists blaze with white light, and when they connect, they pierce defenses that would normally stop even one as powerful as him. He has tested this against a variety of foes, and it has proven quite reliable.
--Beyond these powers, he seems able to bestow blessings, and claims to occasionally hear a reply when he prays, offering advice, instructions and on occasion, direct orders. As an added note, he undoubtably lends a good deal of courage to those fighting alongside him and unnerve his opponants, but whether this is a true gift or just a natural leadership quality is unclear.

History: Hector Corvalis, third of four children born to John and Claire Corvalis, was a bit of a problem child. He was imprisoned at 18 for robbing a liquor store. While he was incarcerated, the prison was frequently visited by the local priests, and he eventually found his way back to the Catholic church. How exactly he went from penitent youth to a knight of the Ordo Draconis is not a subject normally open for discussion, but he will tell anyone asking that his meta powers did not emerge until after he rejoined the Church. Anyone asking about his Order gets more or less the same information from him: The Order of the Dragon was named for the legend of St. George, and is composed of individuals willing to take up arms to protect the Church and anyone not able to protect themselves. They are, in his words, "Crusaders without the good sense to go find a Crusade." He is also more than willing to discuss the meaning behind the Order's symbol, but no one ever asks, much to his disappointment.

Look... you steal "MageSight" from Dresden Files, and then make up something really damn similar to the Holy Swords in the novels, while claiming you never heard of the Knights of the Sword who wield them. So, either read the damn books, find the Wiki, or admit you've no idea what you're talking about.

You have a character that we have no idea how to integrate into the party. The LAST character you had got the whole party so pissed we killed him. Hell, going by the last character, I don't care if you ever join because your RP left a lot to be desired.

Again. Let me and Scottie worry about how to bring him in. There are already several plans for doing so that would be quick and easy. removing him from the group would likewise be easy. "I'm sorry, my Order needs me elsewhere." Ta daa. Also. I did not say I never heard of the Knights, I said I have a poor memory and I did not remember them until I went back and looked. I used the part of the book I remembered. If you had named a character, I would have likely said "oh, yeah, I remember that. Damn, that is kinda similar."

Moving on. Considering that I (a) dropped the first character without much of a fight, (b) ditched the second with even less of a fight, (c) removed the first Tank idea because you didn't want to be connected to it, and (d) am rewriting the details of this one in an effort to keep people happy, I'd say that I'm being damned reasonable.

Next. A panic attack is a perfectly acceptable way to stay in character when you play an emotionally damaged escapee from hell. Would it be very realistic if I played him as a polite, well-adjusted member of society? And considering that you play a character often called on to the voice of reason for a group of loose cannons, pitching an emotionally unstable man into a volcano instead of waving you hand and using your jedi mind tricks to mellow him out is a pretty shitty move. Were you really that pissed that I interrupted the last half-dozen pages of the following: "Nice house," "Nice car," "I hope no one finds the basement full of sex toys," "Does he like me? I think he likes me," and "OMG!! BOOBIES!!"

Almost done. The first character I made was an effort to match the high-strung sort of style you people have established. Pretty much every one of you has some sort of personal demon, whether literally or figuratively. I tried to match it, and you didn't like me actually playing it that way. So here's one with no personal demons whatsoever. A character with no desire to light matches near the powderkeg of a group assembled here. In other words, a peacemaker.

Lastly. Do you realize how hard it is to RP with people I don't know, can't see, and will likely never meet? The only one of you besides Haizu that I actually know is Scottie, who I only see at work when he's busy displaying his ability to curse fluently and calling me a donkey. I'm trying to integrate myself into a suprisingly unwelcoming group. So instead of calling me a bad role player, how about climbing off the Ice Queen throne and lending a hand? So state your concerns with the character, let me do my best to fix them, and leave it at that. I really don't feel like flaming anyone today. I work with Scottie. It's like taking classes in how to insult people.

EDITS: Christ, I gotta stop making posts when I'm irritated.

I'm just going to say my peice on the first character, and how it ended. There is pathos, an ancient and accepted part of theatre and thus RP, and then there is what happened in the game. It pole-vaults over the top of Pathos and also the shark beyond it. It was annoying, didn't advance the story of the man or the chronicle, and was basically just a giant annoyance.

As to playing emotionally unstable... Well, I like to think I'm doing well with mine. The most obvious psychological condition Gravitas has is his meglomania(Passing all the way into the old definition of Hubris), and that's not naturally formed. The others(Ranging from a form of Post-Traumic caused by the death of everyone he knows, to one that's extremely unlikely to come out, and quite at-odds with how he's seen, so I won't bother describing it) are all there, and incorporated into how he acts. Note that while Gravitas has snapped, it's not been destroying random stuff.

Nit, to be frank here... even the old definition of Hubris doesn't quite fully describe the ego of your character. I've met characters and people who believe themselves to be a god. You're the first who seems to want to go out of their way to prove it somehow..

But irregardless...who's the character who's never coming out? And what are they never coming out of? The closet? Bad Scottie, no posting when you're drunk...

 Definitely no posting when drunk. I'm just playing a weakened version of the Meglomania Aberration. Yes, this is the weakened version. Full power is that Gravitas would believe he's the most powerful, and that everyone else serves him.

And it's not another character. It's part of Grav that's unlikely to come out, because the Meglomania overshadows it.

It is somewhat disheartening that when I hear of trouble in the game, it tends towards, more often than not, turn up to be something about my character. What is more disheartening is that, almost always, I hear this second or third hand.

Now. I have tried to keep Gravitas from being a show-stealer. But apparently I have failed. As such, I'll withdrawl from the game.

Now, I'm one of the first to say Gravitas is over powered. You were damn strong with just the gravity powers to begin with and the power creep with time manipulation and *gag* "holy fire" just made him a lot worse.

But he should stay. He's far too integrated with the storyline and the game has survived and prospered with him, even if he's too close to being a walking deus ex. Ripping him out of the story at this point is likely to do far more harm than good.

I actually had planned for him to perish rather dramatically by the end of this. Powerful as Grav is, after I ramped him back from earlier complaints, he's not gonna be able to survive what I know is coming.

Hate to break it to ya, Nit but you know what I want you to know and what I want Tev to know and nothing more.

It's called disinformation. I bet if everyone started comparing notes about what I've told them about various bits they'd find some remarkably different pieces of data.

Yes, that means I've spread false truths to some of the players, and real truths to some of the others. And the feedback I get from IMs and IC posts tells me all I need to know about how you all colaborate and use your OoC data IC.

So as for your knowing whats coming, you honestly are as in the dark as everyone else.
