His ears perked up further. Okay, this was getting good. He handed the BAR to Leo- that'd be hard to explain away, and whispered 'Stay here' before standing up and heading in.

Good god, endless possibilities. Partnership, take over the operation, sell them out to the law, everything here had good endings written all over it.

"Lets have a look at them then. They all healthy or what?" Jason asked putting up a slightly bored front.

"Slavery, is a vile cancer upon this earth. In fact I have every intention of coming back and wiping these misserable slavers off the face of the earth, one by one if I must, and if jason does take one as his meal, I swear on the cross of our risen lord Christ, he WILL pay with his unlife. Of course the chances of him having to make good on that were slim. Slaving of kine was a fairly dangerous thing to do, as any escape would present a small problem for the masquerade

"Most of them are in good shape," said the man. "I don't normaly sell them off when I'm receiving a batch, but I can make an exception. They're all clean enough to drink, if that's what you're asking."

"Yeah yeah, just hang back and let me handle this. I'm a straight-up guy, you can trust me," Wright assured him, before proceeding toward the slavers.

[Cynical Cat]

"Well well well. If it isn't Wright. We haven't met. I'm Cargo. How are you doing pale, strong, and fangy?"

[Josh]

"Cargo, huh?"

No, they hadn't met, but at least he had a nickname that Wright could remember.

"Doin' fine, doin' fine. This is some stringy shit you're slinging here. I mean, lookit that one! Seen that blue line along the leg over the fracture? That's blood poisoning, pal. Bet he hasn't got three days to live. What are you charging for these mangy kine?"

[Cynical Cat]

"Depends on the specimen," replied. Cargo. "War vet goes for more than a wino. Looker for more than a hag. You interested in a purchase or are you just trying to muscle in?"

Wright became the picture of wounded innocence. "Muscle in? Me? I'm in for booze and broads and... oh, yeah, I can see where you'd get an idea like that. Nah, had a little accident, one of my ghouls got himself a tad perished, so I'm in the market for a replacement. Couple of replacements, actually. Lessee... they broken in?"

[Cynical Cat]

"No. Fresh of the train as it wore. Vanished. No one looking for them here. Have to train them yourself, but a few tastes of the red stuff and you'll own them like a pimp with a strung out whore."

[Josh]

"Yeah, teach your grandmother how to suck fucking eggs, pal," he said with a friendly grin to take the potential sting out of the words as he looked around at the kine.

Wright's eye scanned the crowd. He isloated potentials. A big negro wearing overalls, a stout man who look more muscle than fat, and a lean blonde who seemed to be watching for an opening. His gaze travelled across the women, eliminating the less promising. A busty chicana, a lean woman with short black hair, and a long haired blonde. Promising.

He actually went to the effort to manufacture a sigh, shaking his head before he headed to check out the men first. He liked all three, but of course he wasn't going to show that. "How much for the nigger here?" he asked.

[Cynical Cat]

"A thousand bucks. Go take a closer look. See how much muscle he has on him."

[Comrade Tortoise]

Leo had his hand on his sword. He was ready to deliver them both unto the lord for judgment. It would all depend on the next few moments

"A thousand fucking bucks? You're SHITTING me!" he said, waving his arms hysterically. "That's fucking highway robbery! For that kinda dough, you could toss in that one there," he stabbed his finger toward the blonde.

[Cynical Cat]

"Sure he's white, but he weighs half as much. Take a look at the negro's knuckles. He's a fighter." Cargo shrugged. "You want blondey, he's yours for a thousand."

[Josh]

He tilted his head, glancing down. Yup, so he was. And it wasn't like most of the shit he had Ralph and Fred handle wasn't simple enough that a even nigger could handle it.

Gotta watch the quick buy, though. He moved over and checked out the stout one. "Where you from?" he asked.

[Cynical Cat]

"The Bronx," he said sullenly.

[Josh]

"The Bronx," he said, acting unimpressed. But hey, a city kid might be useful around here. "What'd you do before your ass ended up on the train to nowhere?"

[Cynical Cat]

"Butcher." He spat at Wright's feet. "What's it to you faggot?"

[Josh]

He snarled and launched a punch at the man.

The butcher put up a decent block and retaliated with a shot at Wright's short ribs.

He took the shot on the ribs, not even trying to block it. Good punch, would've been a gut-buster for a human. He retaliated with an open-handed slap to the cheek, putting all his strength behind it.

The butcher staggered and half fell. He spat blood and came up swinging. As he did so blondey took advantage of the distraction and dived under the train. He rolled so the wheels shielded him and went for the other side.

"Mother fuck!" Cargo shouted.
