Bright Lights, Bloody Nights, Big City: Vampire Game Thread

[Josh]

As he assured himself that nothing was going to leap out and eat Chicken Boy, which in turn reserved him for further use in this role, Wright stepped in after him. Staring in the same direction, he spotted Rossi's corpse.

He said nothing for a long moment, knuckles clenching the BAR in a fierce grip.

Then, he erupted.

"MOTHERFUCKER!" he screamed, whirling to kick a trashcan. Trash erupted as the side of the can dished in, then it slammed into the wall with a loud clang. "MOTHERFUCKER!" he yelled again, before turning to head for the street.

He was going to tear some asshole's head off for this. Or all of the assholes. Rossi wasn't exactly a friend, but he had been a known quantity and kind of a buddy.

[Comrade Tortoise]

"Calm down Wright, nothing can be gaine from you kicking trashcans. There is something going on, and we will need cool heads to figure it out, and destroy those responsible" leo said, gripping his sword in case he had to put wright own like a rabid dog if he frenzied

[Josh]

"Hey, fuck you," he snarled. "That's not your buddy rotting in the alley. I'm gonna kill the fucker, whoever did it."

[Comrade Tortoise]

Leo was getting a bit unnerved to sayn the least. His hands were shaking, and if he had a heartbeat, it would be going off the charts

"Then calm down, and think rationally However much you want to go kill everyone who could possibly have done this, realie you cant. You are going to have to calm down, and focus if you want to avenge your friend"

[Josh]

"Maybe you never had a domain to protect," he said derisively. "This is mine. Let's go." He rounded the corner. Blue Eyes was going to go through the window. He was going to go...

No, wait.

"Hey Ralph, you take the door, we take the windows."

Okay, there was a bit of a virtue to thinking things through.

This cant be good Leo thought... Ralph ws probably going into a trap

He told Ralph to be careful, and use as much cover as he could, and contemplated whether to take his chans with Raalph at the door, or use a window

Geez, what'd Chicken Boy think ghouls were for? Would he rather be the one lining up for the front entrance?

Creeping around, he made his way to one of the side windows.

The motherfuckers had invaded his territory. He was going to kill them all.

[Cynical Cat]

Wright slipped into the first story window. It was dark inside, by to his enhanced vision it was almost as good as daylight. Barrels, drums, and crates were scattered willy-nilly, but that was business as usual. His preternatural senses detected nothing out of place.

[Josh]

He crept through the warehouse, wary, ready, keyed up. At this point, he was half-hoping some band of assholes was still lurking around. No, not even half-hoping. He continued his sweep, making his way to the staircase that led upstairs.

[Cynical Cat]

Upstairs was fine. Several of Wright's hanger oners were there in fact. "Hey boss, is everything alright?" asked Willy.

[Josh]

"Everything's fine. Keep partying." he said, waving a dismissive hand and slinging the BAR over his shoulder as he turned around and headed back down the stairs.

So he had a dead partner in crime and a missing ghoul, and a mystery to boot. O'Banion's backers? Possible. But if so, they moved damned quick.

[Josh]

He stepped down to the stairwell. "RALPH! Hey! Get over here. Listen, watch the fucking corpse outside, don't let anybody come near it. If it's a cop..." he produced a roll of twenties from his pocket "Make him go away. Anybody else, break their fucking face. I gotta talk to some people about this."

He and Rossi weren't shit on the totem pole around here, but they were recognized guys. Somebody just shit on the Traditions and made an unsanctioned killing. About goddamned time that the assholes in charge earned their pay.

He cranked up the phone, getting the Elysium connection.

"Hey, yeah, it's Wright. I need to talk to Hans," he said when he got through.

[Cynical Cat]

"Of course, sir. He happens to be in at the moment. I will get him immediately." There was a long pause. It stretched on.

A baritone with a slight trace of German accent spoke. "Yes?"

[Josh]

Wright carefully composed himself. He might be impulsive and flighty, but there were some bastards out there that were simply not taken lightly. Hans the Fucking Bloody was one of them.

"Yeah, it's Wright. Got some business down at my place. Tradition business."

[Cynical Cat]

"I'll be right over," responded Hans. The vampire strode out of the room and towards the back of the building. There was a large, enclosed, windowless garage that was convienent for far too many reasons to list. A pair of ghouls came with him. A minute latter a black Model T hit the street.

It wasn't much longer before Hans arrived at Wright's place. He stepped out, followed by a huge bruiser. The vamire wasn't physically intimidating. Hans was pale, with dark brown hair and a goattee. He stood all of 5'6'' and couldn't weigh more than 140lbs. His suit was good, but unspectacular.

He nodded to his ghoul and walked towards Wright's place.

[Josh]

He greeted Hans before he made it to the door. It was bad enough to have the law showing up at his place, but he didn't want to encourage the bastard to snoop around.

"Hey Hans, how ya doin'? It's back here," he said, all polite deference, angling toward the alley.

[Cynical Cat]

The elder nodded. "Let me see it." He coldly swept past Wright and into the alley and then stopped at the macabre sculpture. He stared for a moment. Then he turned back to Wright. "Your phone. Now."

[Josh]

Well shit. Time to introduce Blue Eyes. Having him meet Hans the Fucking Bloody wasn't really the best way to introduce him to the town, but fuck it. He preceded Hans through the door, making sure that the elder could see that he was not leading him into any kind of trap. Having a paranoid sheriff take his head because a mouse farted would be a pretty damned shitty way to finish the night.

"Uh, I got a new guy in here, just came into town... was gonna make him proper and all right away, of course."

[Cynical Cat]

Hans tensed. "New guy. Can you account for his whereabouts when this happened?"

[Josh]

"Yeah, he was with me the whole time. I got him all properly explainified on who he needs to be talking to and everything. He didn't do that shit."

[Cynical Cat]

Hans nodded. "Good." He stepped inside. "We can get the formalities straightened out in time. Does he know enough to surrender to Yeke-Arslan if challenged? Never mind. If he doesn't, he's too stupid to live."

He went upstairs and took the phone. In a few moments the operator had connected him. Any vampires with accute hearing would easily be able to make out his half of the conversation. "This is Hans. Let the . . . archons know they should come here. Immediately. I think I've found signs of what they are looking for. Tell them a Kindred body dismembered and stacked ontop of a dismembered human corpse."

He came down. He looked at Wright. "This isn't on you or yours. No one will hold you responsible for the repercussions, unless you don't cooperate. They'll be here soon and have all sorts of questions. Answer them. Unlike most of the Brujah in this city, you're not worthless but an actual asset. Don't fuck it up."

[Josh]

Okay, shit, that was not what he expected from Hans. What he expected from the kraut was the usual god-complex bullshit.

That he was just blowing over getting Blue Eyes into town and was, well, acting vaguely decent.

That was scary shit.

"Hey, yeah, okay, whatever they want. I'm happy with my place."

That was utter bullshit and they both knew it, but it was the Brujah version of a polite working fiction.

"You want I should clear out the kine? And, uh, you want a taste, just go up and pick one, of course."

[Cynical Cat]

"Absolutely not. Not until they give the go ahead. They might want interviews."

[Josh]

"Yeah, right, of course."

Ohshitohshitohshit. It was an entirely good thing that vampires did not have normal biological processes, because otherwise a change in clothing would be in order.

Fucking archons.

At his place.

None of his kine knew what he was, but he had skated on that line.

Okay, never again. No, never again. He was going to straighten up and fly right after this, keep all the damned Traditions near and dear to his heart, and always play by the rules.

Just please God don't let them kill me...

It didn't take long for them to arrive. They pulled up in another Model T and got out. Two men, one woman. All wore trenchcoats and fedoras. All of them wore leather gloves. The woman was fairly mannish to boot. The walked over to Hans. "Show us."

The Sheriff nodded and lead them over to the bodies. The stalked the scene closely for a minute. Then the woman knelt, skinned the glove off her left hand, and touched to bodies. She was still and silent. Then she got up. "He's expecting us. He knows we would find him here. This was to let us know that he's ready to play." She turned back to Hans and she put the glove back on. "When was the last time anyone saw either of these two alive?"
