"Because," At this the monster stepped out of the darkness only it wasn't the monster from before, it was, Em was looking at herself. "I'm part of you..."

She fired a psychic blast. The men still sitting next to her in the van went flying.

[Agent Fisher]

Ryan laid back on the bed. He had been called back into Ultima for surgery. The docs had put him under the knife and fixed up his eardrums. He turned when he heard the doctor enter.

"Well, Agent Ryan, your eardrums are fixed up now.. I'm declaring you fit for duty starting tomorrow. Next time try and be more careful."

"Thanks, doc."

Ryan used the phone next to the bed. He called Blackheart.

"Boss, this is Ryan."

[frigidmagi]

She fired a psychic blast. The men still sitting next to her in the van went flying.

Blast dodged the flying man out of reflex. Guy flying through the side of the van, you didn't see that everyday. Well... Maybe Blackheart and Saibot did. Or Gravtis, who knew what he saw daily? He found himself staring through a hole, the bad guys forgotten. The hole was rather impressive, bit more then man sized... In fact the girl, if the girl had done this, had kinda blast out half that side of the van. He was gonna lose his spot for most property damage in a fight if that kept up.

Unnoticed the kidnappers made a run for it.

Was that? ... Emma? He crept into the van, puttind the books down under the van, should be semi safe there. He hoped. Did he ever tell Emma his real name? Nah Blackheart was the only one who knew... right? Fucking drink binges. She had some kinda funky hood thingy on. Okay this was like a bad 80s show. Or like the A Team, man that was a werid show.

"Emma? It's Blast. Look I'm gonna take off the hood and then we'll get you out of here okay? I'd take it as a real favor if you didn't... Throw me through a wall or anything... Please?" He said getting to work on the hood. Should he call someone would they be busy? They might need a ride...

[Cynical Cat]

Blackheart kept his eye on the angsty power ranger and answered the call. "Good to here from you again. The slice and dice boys put you back together. Don't answer, it's a rhetorical question. Are you fit for duty?"

[Agent Fisher]

"Docs said I'll be fit for duty tomorrow. Anything gonna be going down that I need to know about?"

[Cynical Cat]

"Yeah. Full plate. Rest up," said Blackheart. "We are going to be busy."

[Agent Fisher]

"Understood. Sounds like fun. I'll see you tomorrow."

As Blast removed the cover from her head Em groaned lightly. "Blast...? Wassamadder?" She lifted a hand to her head, keeping her eyes closed. "What happened?" She opened her eyes and looked at the van. "I did that?"

"Just the hole the wall, the rest was me. Are you okay, do you need a doctor or anything? I'm going to call Blackheart so he can play interference with the cops... They usually don't like me very much. Can you walk? Come on let's get you out of the van." Blast said gently trying to get Emma out of the van and unto the sidewalk, sirens were blaring everywhere and his headache was back. At least the books were safe.

Getting her out of the van, he made his call.

"Uh... Blackheart? This is Blast. Someone was trying to kidnap Emma so I sorta blew up some of their van. Could you come down and back me up to the police when I try to convince them I am not a evil terrorist out to eat their babies please? Also... Emma kinda... blew one of her kidnappers through the van. Is she suppose to be able to do that?" He whispered trying to make sure Emma didn't hear him. She seemed fine, but he was worried that something might have injuried her in the whole scarpe.

[Cynical Cat]

Blackheart cut the connection with Ryan just in time to get Blasts message. "Fuck me," he said. "Alright, I'll be there-, wait where the fuck are you?"

[frigidmagi]

"Huh..." Hey what a good question, where the fuck was he anyways. A quick look around got the nearest corner.

"North of Pendleton and Sherman. Next to the royally fucked up van and policemen." Blast said. A squad car had finally pulled up and disgorged a pair of cops, one stayed at the car and pointed a pistol right at him. Wonderful. He clear his throat... Thank you Lord for the mask. He held his Ultima badge up for view.

"Gentlemen, I am a federal agent as is the young lady here. Please calm down and hostler your weapons before anyone gets the wrong idea." Come on God, let it work once or twice please? A another van pulled up with the letters Channel 4 News sprayed across the side... Fucking Perfect.

Come on Blackheart hurry up.

[Cynical Cat]

"Just a second," said Blackheart. "I have to deal with relationship angst between the power ranger and the teleporter." He killed the mike. "Excuse me," he said. "If we can put off the fascinating display of your relationship problems, someone just tried to snatch a team member and the cops on seen are jumpy. Can we get a teleport to just north of Pendleton and Sherman."

[Rukia]

"Waait a minute..." The cop interupted.

"You look really familiar."

Oh shit oh shit.... "Yanno, I used to live on the street, chances are you picked me for dr----uuh, something." She glanced over at Blast. He was having problems of his own.

"No no no... you're that Big Wigs daughter that got lost..."

"You must have me confused..."

"No you're her, Emiline Dunam. Steven Dunams daughter."

Em delfated. This couldn't be good.

[LadyTevar]

Argent said nothing as Blackheart made the request, simply nodding before she once again assumed the shadowdragon form. One wing reached out to touch Blackheart, and then they vanished into a shadow, leaving Gravitas and Saibot alone.

Two heartbeats, three ... and Argent found Blast and Em's location, the same way she found Blackheart. The shadowdragon fountained out of the wall behind Blast, drawing the attention of all the cops as she rose into the air. Leaving Blackheart on the ground, the shadowdragon flew higher and vanished over the rooftops, finding a shadow there she could use to teleport again.

This time, it was to return to Zufu's restaurant... to the ladies room, so not to embarrass or frighten by appearing suddenly. From the moment she exited, she knew that Zufu would be expecting her, and thus she took the time to straighten her dress and hair before leaving.

Absently she wondered how Gravitas knew Zufu, and how often they dined. Perhaps Zufu would not be as angry if he knew Gravitas was there to watch over her.....

[Cynical Cat]

Blackheart walked over to the cops, fishing his badge and ID out of a pocket in his armour. "Blackheart, Ultima Teams. There with me," he said pointing at Blast and Em. "Cut 'em loose."

[B4UTRUST]

A reporter and a camera crew jumped out of the news van even before it had fully stopped. She quickly stepped in front of the camera and began her dialouge.
"This is Amber Denning reporting live from the scene of a small scale battle where moments ago these individuals(camera pans over Blast and Em) were involved in an altercation with the former occupants of this van(camera focuses and zooms in on ruined van). It appears that these individuals are in fact involved with Ultima. Lets see if we can get a comment."

The reporter turned and hurried over to Blast and Em, camera crew following and shooting over her shoulder. She got close enough for her mic feed to pick up Blackheart's words as he flashed his badge.
"Agents, agents! Excuse me! Amber Denning, Channel 4 Eye Witness News. Agents, what happened here today? What escalated the situation to this level?"

[Cynical Cat]

"This is an ongoing investigation," Blackheart replied. "No comment at this time." He pushed away from the reporters. "Fucking vultures," he muttered under his breath. He approached Blast and Em. "What the fuck happened?"

[frigidmagi]

"I was heading home, heard something and ducked into the alley, some guys, I didn't get good look at them were yanking Em into a van with a hood over her head. I called on them to give up but they fled... So I blasted the rear axle out of the van. One of them fired on me with a pistol so I blew off the roof of the van. At this point one of them was blown through the side of van by Emma and they ran. Then the circus showed up." Blast reported making sure the books were alright.

[Cynical Cat]

"You know the unspoken rule of Ultima Teams?" Blackheart said to Blast. "You fuck with us, we run you over with a tank. Twice." The agent turned to the cops. "These guys are going to Ultima." He turned back to Em. "Tell me everything you can about these guys."

[Rukia]

Em opened her mouth, closed it then opened it. "Honestly sir, I can't tell you anything. I teleported into the alley after taking a man to the police station and they ambushed me. One of them came up behind me and covered my mouth. I'm guessing the rag was drugged. I blacked out. It wasn't until Blast took the hood off that I woke up." She hung her head, "I'm sorry sir. I did try to enter his mind in defence but he bloced me like he was expecting it."

Just as she was finishing telling blackheart what happened Amber Denning tapped her on the shoulder. She turned around, "Yes?"

"Is it that you are Emiline Dunam? Daughter of business mogul Steven Dunam?" She said in a typical reporter fashion.

"I don't know who I am. I'm sorry." She looked at Blast and Blackheart, -Help.-

[Cynical Cat]

"Police line," said Blackheart to the reporter. "That means you stay on the other side, capish? Now do you go back on your own or do I throw you?"

[Rukia]

When they arrived at the Ultima HQ there was a limo with a police escort. A burly body gaurd met them at the door.

"The girl needs to come with me." He said in a voice that was soft an unexpected.

Em looked at the limo, "My dad is in there isn't he?"

"That's the idea. You've been gone a long time Miss Emmi."

"I know, but I had no idea."

"Understood. Time to go." He held out his arm.

Em hesitated, "What about my things?"

"It's been taken care of."

Em turned to Blackheart and Blast. "Thank you, for everything. I know I've been a burden, but you all have helped me." Then she suddenly embraced Blackheart. "Quit being such a hardass. Sir." Then Blast, "Thank you for rescuing me." She hugged him as well.

"I appreciate everything you've done for me."

With that she looped her arm into the mans and walked to the limo. The door was opened and in the dramatic dark of the cabin was her family. She sat and the door closed.

"We've been looking for you. There's alot to catch up on."

"I know, Dad. I'm sorry." She said tearfully as she leaned into his opened arms.

The limo pulled away.

It was not long before Argent was again escorted to Zufu's presence in the back dias of his restuarant. She noted that dinner had continued without her, although her place at the table had a new plate, invitingly empty, as if waiting for her to begin anew.

She bowed very low as Zufu addressed her. "Ahh... Chi-lung (female dragon), I knew you would return...," he said cheerfully, then his voice sobered as he seemed to know what was on her mind. "From your face, it is clear that while one problem is solved, another has taken its place. Then you will not be finishing dinner?"

"No Zufu (grandfather)," Lei answered respectfully, youth to elder. "I fear that I am being called to duty, and do not know when or if I shall return. I was asked to give one's regards to you, from the man known as Gravitas."

[Charon]

Silver eyes fluttered open and Legacies emitted a groan as he came to. He was back in the medbay. His eyes quickly examined the room, there was plenty of medical equipment, that meant he was in bad condition. Breathing in, Legacies winced and tried for a moment to curl up, finding that he was restrained. His chest burned from the pain of breathing deeply, and so Legacies relaxed again and took to normal breathing again.

Dr. Zhan quickly entered the room again as word that her patient was up reached her ears. "You should really take better care of yourself Mr. Roberts. This is the second time you've been under my care in two weeks."

The silver head turned to look at the doctor. It was completely blank of any sign of a nose or eyes or a mouth. "We are Legacies doctor. That name has little meaning anymore."

Carol Zhan closed the door as she walked up to Legacies. "Alright, fine. Now show me your face, your human face, I need to see some things."

Legacies looked at he for a few seconds, seeming to have no intent in doing what she asked, and then the mask slid away to reveal the old scarred almost bald face of Mark.

Carol pulled out a small light and looked into Mark's eyes, watching the reaction, then she placed her hand on his cheek bone and ran her fingers along the bone, testing it. After a few seconds she nodded and turned away, heading over to some terminals. "I'm going to give you a few X-rays now. See how you're healing."

Legacies nodded as the human head was once again encompassed by symbiote.

[Cynical Cat]

"Great," said Blackheart. He dialed and switched channels. "Bowman, this is Blackheart. Little Miss Torture jumped ship. Apparently her rich folks showed up. The area was crawling with civvies who are already asking too many damn questions. Toss the ball over to legal and let them squeeze her."
