Lei looked over to Blackheart, whom she'd not said a word to since the attempt to speak to his Other. "Kyosuke and I believe we have discovered something important about Abaddon..."

Kyosuke turned around and looked at Black and Blackheart standing with him.
"Ah, there you are. My appologies. Agent Blackheart, Argent and I have something to bring to your attention. It concerns something they you've recently dealt with. An entity called Abaddon."

"The Demon-Man." Gravitas said, tilting his head. "At least, I think a demon was in there. It certainly explains how he withstood over twenty-five-gees and still walked forward. What did you find?"

"Blackheart may recall my reaction to Abaddon -- total fear." Argent states simply. "It has been bothering me what exactly caused me to react that way, since I am part-demon myself. Kyosuke-san was able to figure out the reason."

"Abaddon was not a full demon. He was not a possessed human. He had somehow taken the demon and fused it to himself." Argent looked straight at Blackheart. "In a way ... it's like the Other is fused inside you." And now to see what Blackheart thinks of the idea that a demon is fused inside himself.

Gravitas raised a brow. "I thought you guys would know about how to bind supernatural entities to human bodies willingly. Hell, I've seen binding runes that'll do similar."

"On Inanimate objects, yes. But for a human to have a demon bound into them...." Lei visibly shivered. "It is wrong in ways that I can't explain, and that is why I found it terrifying." Once again, her eyes focus on Blackheart. "The implications are clear, however. If it can be done once, it can be repeated. The knowledge is out there, and there are countless demons who would take the bargain. The trick is keeping the demon in check."

"Blast?" Gravitas spoke up. "Think you can take a look at Blackheart's back with that funky energy-vision you're developing? You're looking for something similar to what made my tattoos glow." He said, hoping he wasn't giving too much away.

"I can try, I didn't develop it until after the fight with Abbadon and I don't see anything out of wack with Argent when I saw her... But I'll try." Blast said and slipped into it. They were surrounded by streams and rivers of energy flowing through the walls and floors of the building. Threads of energy shimmered through the air, they blended togather in soft harmony like a song. Everything else just kinda... floated away from his sense. He turned to the others in the room. They were wrapped in energy, visable echos of themselves connecting them to the greater universe.

He turned and looked at Blackheart and saw something unexpected. He expected the knot of dark brooding energy at was the tumor itself. He saw twisting pathways for the energy to flow but, the energy wasn't coming from the tumor, not orginally. The energy was being pulled from Blackheart into the tumor and then spread back into him.

What did this mean?

Blast shoved himself out of the energysight and sat heavily reporting what he saw to the others.

Kyosuke listened to the report calmly.
"I might offer some explaination here. You didn't get to 'scan' Abaddon, but you said you had scanned Argent here. Perhaps the difference is that she is a demon by birth, part of her genetics, whereas Blackheart here has a seperate entity inside. Would that account for the difference of the energy?"

Blast looked up at the Japanese agent and wondered if the language barrier was what was screwing things up or just the man's own preconception that Argent just had to be a demon.

"No, look, the tumor isn't giving Blackheart any energy. All the energy to fuel his powers... Are coming from Blackheart. The tumor just kinda... redirects the energy, steers it throughout his body. I don't know how that works, or why but as far has I can tell it's got nothing to do with Abaddon or Argent." Blast said patiencly.

"Functionally similar to my node, yet definately a harmful parasite.." Gravitas mused openly. "A true mystery. If we find any others like you, I propose dissection." The scientist-turned-superhuman said, deadpan.

"Either way, that doesn't fit with a bond with a supernatural entity. Those bring their own energy." It was definately strange hearing the self-claimed God speak as if he had experience. "Still, I wish I knew about the bindings I've witnessed. I just know the symbols, not the nature of the magic."

"It does fit with a bond with a supernatural entity," said Blackheart, "just not an independent one. Its not sentient, right? It has basic emotions, impulses, reflexes. It knows how to use energy flow, its just parasitic. And for some reason I've got the juice it needs. And so it needs its host alive. So it reworks the host body. Stronger, tougher, faster. Uses the energy it takes to grant the host powers. Host lives. It lives."

Lei looked to Blackheart, frowning slightly. "Yes. It lives, without intelligence. Yet, it is malevolent, hateful, wishing nothing but destruction. That is the same thing that I felt from Abaddon." She looked to Kyosuke for some support before her inky eyes faced Blackheart again. "Whether you believe us or not, I feel that Kyosuke was right in calling it a demon."

Kyosuke sighed and took a deep breath.
"I don't know. I can not be sure from what residual traces were at the site. My guess is that you didn't kill Abaddon, merely the host. Abaddon did not possess the host, but was bound to it, willfully it seems. And something had been done to the host prior.

"So my guess, if I had to give one, would be that there is a chance he will return. I believe you killed the host, not the demon."
