With a scream, Wright reversed his grip and leaped at the .45-wielding bootlegger, swinging the weapon in a long arc, the butt coming to a meeting with his target's skull with a most satisfying grisly crunch.

Jason's shotgun blast had caused the tommygun wielder to duck down, covering the vampire's charge. In a few seconds, the tommygunner was back up. And Jason was upon him.

Jason ripped the tommy gun from his grip throwing it behind him and hammered the butt of the shot gun into the human's skull.

The warehouse was devoid of the living. Only the dying, dead, and the undead remained. Shattered casks leaked low grade booze onto the floor. The dead man with the .45 was Pryor. The dying man with the .38 was Donnally.

Wright got up and walked over to the dying man. "Hey Donnally! How ya doin'?"

He crouched down over the bootlegger, fingers deftly searching through his pockets. He found a picture, partially bloodsoaked. It was a shot of Donnally and his family, decked out for one of the kids' Confirmations. Four kids in the shot, one obscured by blood soakage already. He stared at the newly manufactured orphans for a long second, before snarling and tossing the picture away and continuing his search. Finally he found what he was looking for, fishing the Zippo lighter out. He rose to his feet, and holding the Zippo at arm's length, he spun the striker a few times until it sparked to life. Grimacing at the flame, he looked at the others. "Might want to head for the exit, boys..."

He stepped back from the pooling booze, looking down to make sure he wasn't going to set himself on fire in the process, then tossed the zippo in.

The whisky caught and began to burn, but most of the booze spilled on the floor was beer. The blaze was not as impressive as Wright would want it to be. A sullen fire started up and licked at one corner of the warehouse. The instincts of the vampires was to retreat from the blaze, a primal survival urge rising from within and urging them to flee.

He frowned. Nothing was going according to plan tonight. He backed out of the warehouse, fiddling with the BAR to extract the jammed cartridge.

The vampires retreated from the blaze as it slowly spread. It would take a little while, but the fire department would eventually come and deal with it. Their response time was less than enviable.

The police response time was also less than enviable, but eventually they'd figure the fighting was done and send somebody out to tag and bag the remains. Wright had no intention of being around for that.

Father leonard prayed for the souls of the slain as he left. He would have to find some way to help Donally's family. Donally was not a reputable character... he had killed... he had stolen... but his children were innocent.

Wright shook his head as they approached the car. "Ah c'mon, Chicken Boy. You're still kicking and the other bastards aren't. Live a little, huh?"

He clambered into the backseat of the car, hardly noticing the dashed brain and skull material the butt of the BAR was smearing across the seat where the priest would have to sit.

The car headed back to Wright's place. It was still fairly early in the evening and the place should be hopping. The first sign that something was wrong was the absence of the doorman.

Nothing was immediately visible. Father Leonard stepped deeper into the alley and the smell got stronger. But stil there was nothing-

There. Off to the side between two garbage cans. A dismembered corspe, still wearing its bloodstained clothes had been arranged as the base of a macabre skulpure. Piled on top, forming a gruesome pyramid, was another corpse. The decay was far too advanced to allow for easy identification, but the suit it was wearing was Rossi's.
