"Well THIS unit hasn't gotten past trying to kill each other yet! Considering that the training ended with one member trying to kill another by fucking accident and the rest of the team having to take him down, More training right on top of that is begging for trouble. How about this? The guy in charge of this ratfuck has said go have a beer and party. So you, the team brass ass, drop the I'm harder than God bit and have a fucking free beer and party. Either way, there is going to be no more training today and if it bothers you, you can agrue it with the boss of this gaggle. Me? I'm taking the others and we're getting a drink." He said. John looked at the odd new conflict brewing and spoke up "Hey, I'm legal as far as the government knows." he said fishing his keys out of his pocket "You folks need a ride?" He wanted to stop the fight before it got out of hand like several of the other arguments in this group.

John shruged and jogged after Blast, they ran almost all the way to the parking garage where John, Blast and the new agent climed into his car. "Where to?" he said as he started the car up and drove it out of the garage.

Legacies shook his head at the youthful enthusiasm and turned away. The silver figure moved outside of the building and took a deep breath. He had no intention of drinking with his compatriots. He had no intention of letting his face be seen by his compatriots. And a small part of him wished he'd never agreed to join. Though in all honesty, he could probably slip away into the shadows and alleys of Millenium City just as easily as he had come out of them.

Traffic wasn't as bad in Millenium City as it had been in old New York, but it still could be a stone bitch. Fortunately, Blackheart could fly. He rose into the air and across the city. Three minutes latter he was descending towards the balconey of his apartment.

As they passed the building's main doors, A.J. noticed the distinctive forms of John, Blast and the foreign agent tentaively peeling off into the traffic and cursed.

"They're heading off without us." He told Em, pointing with his free hand. "Think you could ask-" A pause while he dredged up the energy wielder's code name "Blast where they're headed?"

If there is one thing that can be counted on in any corporation, it's that there will be a list of of what offices are on what floors inside the building. The problem is always knowing which office would have the person you need to speak with.

It gets worse when there's no easily identifiable job title called 'mystic'. "Saibot... look at this one..." Lei said, pointing to one name followed by the title 'Psionic Relationship Specialist'. "Perhaps the problem is more widespread than we thought?"

He looked over where Argent pointed, read the name, and behind the helmet, raised a eyebrow.

Well...will wonders ever cease.

"Looks like it.." he said calmly, making note of the Office number, then the name.... "Dr Rita R Zedden". A groan stiffiled in his throat, he looked to Argent, and motioned with a sweep of his arm, "Ladies first.."

He reminsced..they never had captured Zedd...he managed to escape and never returned. And Rita...well...she had disappeared.

He wrapped a arm around Argent's waist as the elevator doors closed, and he put the name out of his mind.

Amusement rippled down the link at that revealation. "It would be odd if she was the same person," Lei admitted. "After all, Ultimas seems to have a habit of taking in 'wanted criminals'..." she added wryly as the elevator binged and a female voice announced the floor. She slid her arm around him as they exited and turned down the hallway in the direction indicted.

After a second, Argent started walking in the direction, and he followed. This would be a very surreal meeting, he figured.

As the others left, Ryan realized he still had other things to do. He walked back to his cube. He took another hour to finish the work he still had. He grabbed his vest, his gear, which was packed into a bag. He headed down to the garage. He popped the trunk on his car, and placed his vest and gear bag inside, next to the assualt rifle he was premitted to carry. He closed the trunk and turned on his cell phone. He dailed Blackheart's number.

"Hey, boss, this is Ryan. The group took off without me and I need directions to your place, at least if everyone is still there."

The door they wanted had a tasteful plaque on the front under the room number: "Rita R Zedden, Specialist". Lei looked up to Garth's blank facemask, a shiver of apprehension crossing clearly thru the link between them. "Think... she'll be too busy?" she asked, hestitant to open the door.

The burst of emotion from Garth was confusing. The 'oh god' made it clear that the person inside was just the one person he'd been hoping it wouldn't be. The voice... was just this shy of annoyingly piercing. Lei was momentarily stunned.

"Come in, Come in!" the little Japanese woman said in a scratchy, whiny voice, beaming widely at them both. She was dressed professionally, in a tailored pantsuit accented by chunky jewelry that gave Lei the same feeling Saibot's ring did. "How can Rita help you today?" the woman asked, motioning them to enter with expansively theatrical gestures.

He almost turned out, right then and there, when she shrieked as she saw throught he change in coloration, and pointed at him "Oh no you don't! I'm not doing anything wrong! I've gainfully employed!"

Lei looked at Garth, then to the woman who had suddenly recognized Saibot as White Guardian, and back to Garth as he admitted there was a problem. Time to be a peacemaker.

"The Guardian is right..." she said to his old adversary. "Like you, we're now 'gainfully employed' by Ultima. Unfortunately...." how to explain, how to explain.... "... during the mission to recruit me, I used my empathy against him. Somehow, that link's never broken."

Rita leaned forward, looking between Garth and Lei. "You used your powers on him?" she asked in that scratchy annoyingly whiny voice. "What exactly did you do to him?" Lei got the feeling that Rita was more interested in how she gave the Guardian his comeuppance, but she wouldn't let Garth know that.

"I... umm... made him desire me." she muttered, embarrassed. "Empathic lust... straight to the lowest levels of emotion..."
