Blackheart watched the data exchange. Interesting. He didn't know what it was about, but he could make a good guess. It would be interesting to see if either one of them acted to keep him in the loop.

"Can I have you try something?" She said out loud to Argent, trying to stay out of her mind, she could feel that her pain was carring over. "God damnit would you be a bit more gentle with that thing?!" She snapped at the med tech who was now attempting to stich up her arm.

"Not now..." Argent replied, wishing the girl would take care of her own self before butting into other people's business.

"No need to be so- ow... cryptic...we all know- sssss..... who you're talking about" Em said, offhandedly.

Like that. Argent looked in the direction of the cyborg and Bowman. Whatever they were discussing they'd not wanted all the medics and the team to know. Now they were curious, and she could feel Blackheart's interest as well. Just shut up and get treated... she thought Em's way. "Blackheart.. I need some time... alone. Too many people here right now... I'll be on the roof."

That was all the warning they got before she faded into the shadows and was gone, taking Saibot away with her as the dragon slipped into the nearest shadow.

On the roof of the Ultima Bureau, she slithered out from the noon-time shadows, setting Saibot down gently before she reverted to normal. "Sorry..."

The move had almost taken him by surprise, one moment, he was in the gym with the rest of the team, then the heartbeart of darkness, then...the roof.

He turned to Argent as she stepped out the shadow, the visor of the helmet slipped away with the standard servo whine, and he walked towards her. "Hey now...stop apologizing. We need to find out what happened...and if we can control it."

Lei nodded, finding it much easier to look Garth in the eyes than into the expressionless faceplate. "That's one reason I brought you with me... I should have warned you, but I needed to get away."

She moved a little, trying to find a place where she wouldn't be in the sunlight as much.

"You didn't have much time" he said, watching her. He honestly didn't know what to do at the moment, go towards her, try to comfort her, or stay back.

"Yes... I know..." Lei answered. "I should have picked a better spot that the roof at noon, tho. Too much bright sunlight, not enough shadows..." she griped as she sat down carefully in what little shade there was, using her hand to shade her eyes as she looked up at him. "There has to be a way to filter or block the link...."

Bowman nodded to John and whispered something about discussing this later when he had time to review the data before leaving the training room. As he exited he glanced over his shoulder at Blackheart.
"Agent Blackheart, if you would care to make a report on the training accident please bring it to my office. There are things that need to be discussed."

Bowman left, the sound of his footsteps clicking down the hall.

Kyosuke glanced around the room, watching the man and woman teleport away. He caught a glimpse of something in the woman right before she left. He wasn't sure what to make of it. Turning back to face Blackheart he caught the man's eyes.
"So sir, what do we do now?"

The medics continued to work on Em, making sure she was ok. They did all the normal tests, shining a flashlight into her eyes, squeezing her arm in a vice-like cuff of rubber and rough material, shoving jabby metal tubes under her tongue under the guise of taking her temperature. The normal doctor things. They examined and scrutinized her arm and leg carefully, recommending that while they didn't believe either to be broken they did however believe she should get x-rays done to make sure there wasn't fractures or other damage they couldn't readily diagnose.

Bowman reached his office and pulled out the flash drive. He inserted it into the port on his computer and sat down at his desk. Pulling up the files he began to read over the data.

"Considering we dont know how it started....."

He the sun was bright, and it was hot, but he didn't seem to feel it. He started to pace, hands clasped behind his back, looking down to the roof.

"Maybe we can talk to some of the Ultimas mystics....they may have a clue or five..."

"it would be nice to know what did it..." Lei agreed. "You're the only one that's ever reacted like that. The question is... do we trust any of the mystics here?"

Blackheart turned to adress Kyosuke. "You tell me what you bring to the table so I can attempt to usefully integrate you to this crazy patchwork team. Perferably in the very brief amount of time it takes me to write this report. And then you might want to meet everyone and then imbime whatever your particular poison happens to be."

Blackheart started writing. The best reports were, in his considered opinion, brief and told the Echelons Beyond Reality only what they really needed to know. This wasn't going to take long.

"We don't have much choice, any of the Mystics I knew of are dead...." he left out the fact and the emotions associated with the fact he had killed each of the mystics he had known, and as a recourse, and now thier little community kept out of his sights.

"So, unless you know of any that'll want to cut you up and use your blood in thier spells, or try to pry my ring and sword off of my cold dead body.......we have to trust the ones here."

There it was, blanket fact.

Lei raised an eyebrow as some of Garth's repressed emotions leaked through. "You just leaked again, hero. Should I take it that most mystics you know were as described?" ...and probably dead, knowing my hero... she thought to herself wryly.

"I know that I had a connection to Ember," Lei admitted. "But comparing the two is like comparing a leaky faucet to Niagra Falls. I would often feel her mood change, but never had mine change with her like we've done." her eyes dropped blushing, "and I hope I never get you that angry at anyone ever again..."

He was almost at a loss there, but shrugged. "We need to go see them, see what they say, and if they can do anything...even a filter..."

He looked thoughtful for a moment, before smiling at her, "Not like I don't ENJOY knowing exactly what makes you purr and what makes you growl..." he amended...

Lei coloured, as that *was* a nice little side effect, and made their private time ... exciting. "Somehow... I don't think Blackheart or Legacies would consider that useful to the team," she teased, before sighing.

"Maybe I should ask for a filter against the whole team. Blackheart admires me one moment, thinks I'm a disaster the next. Legacies doesn't trust me, like I'm going to destroy you. I don't know how Em survived the streets, she's overly-friendly, like a puppy begging for love. The croc..." she shakes her head. "Last thing I got from him was nearly an apology.. more like 'no hard feelings'. Gravitas and Blast look at us as if we're crazed. The rest of the team have a feeling best described as 'what the fuck'."

Lei looked up at Garth helplessly. "It's always just been Ember and I before. I can handle a connection like that. Now it's everyone down there *and* whatever's linked us."

"Maybe..." he said, walking towards her.

"But, now the best thing we can do is talk to them. Blackheart and the group as a whole, then go see the magick workers."

He wrapped his arms around her for a moment as he approached, kissing her forehead.

Pulled to her feet and into his embrace, she found herself finally able to relax. "Sometimes I wonder if this link was to steady me... or aid you..." she said, leaning against him with her head tucked perfectly under his chin. Tiny and petite, works every time. "Give me one moment like this, and I'll take us back downstairs."

Timeless minutes pass as Lei simply relaxes in his arms, letting all the tension drain away from both of them, before she lifts her face and draws him down for a gentle kiss. She breaks it with a sigh. "Ok... I think I'm ready."

She once again took her shadow form and wrapped him in her wings, giving him time to close his faceplate before she teleported them back to the group. They had been gone no more than ten minutes....

Legacies watched the new man with a keen interest. Something new and different. It should be tested at the first opportunity. Legacies looked at Blackheart.

"We believe that it would be best if those with special needs such as training as Avatar, Argent, and Blast need were to focus on that while the rest of us tried to focus on being a team for now."

Legacies looked at Kyosuke again then at A.J.. "Also, to test each others capabilities."

Kyosuke coughed, clearing his throat.
"Well sir, I have extensive training in martial forms. I have a few abilities that are most assuredly quite unimpressive and useless to a group of individuals like this whos powers are no doubt vast and great," he spoke, bowing once more.

As he spoke his hair subtly underwent a changing of hues, going from a bright neon pink to a darker red and then to an auburn. The effect was gradual but distinct.
"And though I do not normally drink at such a time during the day I will be most honored to share in this with the group."

"Can the modest salaryman bullshit," said Blackheart. "You're among Gaijin barbarians now and have to fit in with us rowdy westerners. Can you do any other tricks besides changing hair color?"

Kyosuke coughed again meekly, his cheeks coloring slightly as he regained his composure.
"Of course sir," he spoke softly, bowing again. When he righted himself he held his hand out for inspection. The fingers thickened and grew pointed, shaping themselves into claws. He closed his hand into a fist and when it opened the claws were gone. He then reached into his suit jacket and pulled out a bokuto in the rough size and shape of a normal katana.

"I possess a few other minor abilities that are less easily shown outside of combat. But," he began as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a coin, shiny and new. "This will suffice I think."

The coin stayed its shiny silver color for a moment then began to dull, the etching wearing down and rust beginning to discolor it. Within a minute the coin became brittle and rust colored, its original markings undecipherable beneath the decay.

"Handy," said Blackheart. He turned to Blast. "Catch." He tossed him a wad of bills and a set of keys. "That'll get you into my place. Go ahead and raid the fridge and the pantry, there's plenty of booze. Use the cash for za or whatever or have someone legal buy more booze. Party on me. I'll catch up latter. Captain Modesty over here is our guest of honour. Show him a good time. Last order of the day." He touched a key and printed out a one page, double spaced report. "I'm probably going to be busy for a while. Catch you latter."

Under the mask a slow smile spread across Blast's face. Free party sweet. Hrmmmm... Mr. Land of the Rising Sun might not have proper I.D... The others however...

"Mind if I grab everyone else?" He asked, two men didn't make a party after all.

"That's the intent hero," said Blackheart. "I said party not private drinking binge." He was smiling as he headed towards Bowman's office.
