"I know what it's called." A.J. remarked with a smirk and a raised eyebrow. "I'll leave the rest to the cabbie. God, I hope he speaks English." He thanked Alex, promised Em he'd get back to her on that whole 'first half of your life' thing, and trotted down to the nearest Taxi rank.

The foodstuff gathered, a few apples, and some bottles of water, Garth lead Lei from the open air market.

He took her down the streets taking his time, till they got to St Peters, then headed down it.

He kept walking, beyond the few houses, towards the wrought iron fencing of the cemetary.

Lei had opened one of the waterbottles so she could discretely wash off the peach-juice from her face and fingers, and so did not quite realize the direction they were walking in until they were facing the wrought iron gates themselves. Then she stopped death, staring at the maze of masoleums and statuary beyond.

"The... graveyard..." she asked, shivering involuntarily. Cemetaries and hospitals were two of the worst places to take an empath, no matter what city. "Garth... if there's a funeral, I may lose control," she warned him, honestly worried. "It's too much emotion."

"There's no funeral here, sweetheart," he replied, squeezing her hand gently, "The cemetary is closed to anymore....it's full"

It was true the cemetary was declared filled, no more space to build new crypts and moluseums anymore two years after the Black Aeon attack.

He pushed the gate open, and swung his hand over for her to enter first.

Shivering, she walked inside the gates, looking nervously around at the above-ground tombs. Yes, some of them were works of art. Yes, some were ancient, with names from the very beginnings of New Orleans.

It was still a graveyard, a place where people came to mourn and remember the dead, and that was what haunted Lei the most. " ... Please... take me to see ... whomever we're seeing? This place is haunted."

Avatar smiledat the cheek peck. A big toothy grin that most people would find disconcerting

"I have cab fair for the both of you." he said, pulling enough to get Cam/Em to the ultima building, and A.J Anywhere in the metro area

"Dont worry, I live alone and have nothing better to spend it on...I should be getting home mysel actually. He got up, he would have been a bit tipsy, but the parts of his brain that controlled his kinetic abilities were not affected by the booze and he subconciously steadied himself with little gusts of wind.

He paid the tab, plus a good tip, which was why he was so well liked in that particular bar, and headed out the door. He walked down a couple blocks down the street until he hit the river, then jumped in. He could find his way home easily from there.

That left Cam/ Emiline alone waiting for the next taxi. She hummed quietly to herself. She saw a cab heading her way and hailed it. The driver pulled over and she opened the door all but falling into the back seat.

"Where to, lady?" The man said with a tough Jersey accent.

"Uuh, the Ultimas building. I don't know the address." She leaned her head back and closed her eyes as he pulled away from the curb. What seemed like only a few seconds later she was being yelled at. "Huh? Whatsmadder?" She opened her eyes trying to get oriented.

"Lady we're here, jeeze wake up will ya?" The man was saying from the front seat.

"Oh yeah, right. Sorry." She gave him the money and stepped out of the car. She had barely got the door closed before he sped off. She walked up the rest of the drive way to the gate. It was closed. "Shit." She was going to have to deal with a guard this late at night, drunk. She walked over to the Gaurd house and tapped on the window. A short, stubby, older gentleman peeked out.

"Yes? How can I help you young lady?" He asked.

"Um I live here, in the building, I kinda need to get in. I've been out with my friends you see an---"

"My dear, I can't let anyone in after a certian time. Not without proper I.D and security clearance. Do you have your I.D?"

Em/Cam's jaw dropped. "I don't have an I.d. Are you telling me this place has a cerfew? I have no where to go."

"We close right at dark ma'am. And no one is allowed back in after that with out I.d. Why don't you call your friends?" He said.

"I don't know their numbers. Um, that's ok..." Em said, her eyes filling with tears. "Um I'll just get a hotel room for the night." She sniffed and walked away.

"You be careful miss, This isn't a town for a girl to be wondering the streets in." He called before closing the window.

"Yea, no kidding." She headed for the park.

[Agent Fisher]

Ryan stepped out of the building. He fished through his pockets and brought out his pack and lighter. He noticed a girl turning and walking from the after hours entrance. He lit his coffin nail and inhaled.

[Rukia]

Cam rubbed her temples. She sighed deeply and headed for the old part of town. She was a good way into her trip when something struck her. SHe hurried over to the nearest phone booth. She opened the phonebook "A.J what A.J. whaat?Oh..." She sighed almost giving up for a second. The she dug in her purse. "I know I wrote it down somewhere... now I just have to find it in this black hole." She dug a bit deeper and unfolded a peice of paper. "Ah ha!"

was scribbled neatly on a napkin. -So it does to pay to be a mind reader.- She looked again, -Damn thoes are nice.- She Dialed the opperator, she got the number and called A.J.

A.J. shook his head, a headache already replacing his alcohol-induced haze. It was one of the benefits and drawbacks of having a Meta-enhanced constitution; He got drunk easily, but it worked his way out of his system quickly. Give it a few more minutes, and-

The phone rang. With a sigh, he levered himself out of his chair and fetched it despite himself.

"Gallagher speaking." He said in that universal tone of voice which signalled this-had-better-be-important.

[Rukia]

Cam/Em bit her lip, "Umm, A.J.? I's Cam--I mean Em.I'm sorry I calle so late but I kinda have a problem."

She shifted her feet and gnawed on her lip some more. He didn't sound happy when he answered the phone. -He was probably sleeping.. damn.-

"Em?" He asked redundantly, dropping the annoyed tone of voice quickly. "What's up?"

[Rukia]

"Uhh, well you see I got to the Building ok but apperently they lock it after dark and I never got an i.d so I can't back in." She laughed nervously and then continued, "So I was wondering if maybe I could.... I wouldn't have called but I dont' have any money for a hotel and I'd rather not have to sleep in the park if at all possible. So I was thinking maybe....." Her voice trailed off. -This was a bad idea.-

"Oh, I get you. You need a place to crash. Sure. Can't leave a girl out in the cold, hey?" He scrabbled for a pen, found one, then realised he had nothing to write on. He quickly stuck the pen between his teeth and hunted for a piece of paper, or something- The room was filled with packing crates and material, and there wasn't a damn thing he could scribble on. Typical.

"Sho," he mumbled through the pen, "Wh'r are you, exsh'kly?"

[Rukia]

She breathed a heavy sigh of relief. "I'm at the corner of..." She looked around for the street sign. "Eldridge and Hester. Where Steward Park used to be." She paused. "Thank you so much. I'll find a way to pay you back I promise."

Spitting the pen out, A.J. replied, "It's no trouble. I'll be there in a few minutes. I hope." He hung up and, dodging the boxes, made his way to the door where he shrugged a durable leather coat on and headed for the elevator. A short while and some annoying muzak later he'd shoved the street name into his bike's sat-nav system- What way to test if the thing was working properly- and headed out onto the streets.

About six minutes later he reached the street and pulled onto the curb. He pulled his helmet off and squinted up the sidewalk.

Cam had sat on a bench. She tensed at every passing car. It occured to her that she didn't know what he drove. She didn't have long to wait, a few moments later a Motorbike pulled up to the curb and A.J. Stepped up on the sidewalk. She stood and walked over to him. "Thank you sooo much. You didn't have to do this..." She moved like she was going to hug him then stopped. "A motorbike, eh? Not exactly what I had you pegged to drive but it's nice." She smiled. "I just hope I can hold on, I'm 'bout to pass out. I'm so tired."

He grinned. "I'm not doing you any favours; My place is a tip. Here, put this on." He said, handing her the helmet. "I don't really need it."

[Rukia]

"It can be worse then my little hole in the wall. I think it used to be a closet." She laughed and took the helmet. "I wonder how many people have said I don't need a helmet then gotten into a fatal wreck?" She mused, nudging him a bit. "But not all people are meta-human. So what exactly is your strength?" She said sliding on the bike after him.

"Physical impacts can't hurt me." He explained briefly. "Well, maybe they can, but I've survived hitting the ground at terminal velocity." He revved the bike up, raising his voice over the noise. "So a crash wouldn't do that much to me. Uh, hold on." They zoomed back onto the road.

[Rukia]

"OKAY." She yelled over the engine grabbing hold of A.J's waist tight. The wind was a bit colder hitting her face. She was happy to have the helmet and A.J. to block the wind.

Only a little later they pulled into the garage, coasting to a stop as A.J. fed his I.D. card into the gate controls. He chose a spot close to the elevator- Having a bike was a godsend when looking for parking spaces- and made their way up. "Here we go." He pronounced, unlocking the door. "Room 34B, palace of the Gods. The Gods of home removal, that is."

The room was filled with boxes of all different sizes and shapes, in various states of packedness. The only clear spaces were around a little bar-style kitchen area (which was hardly 'clear' anyway, hosting an over, a fridge/freezer combo, a phone and a laptop), a small clearing where the T.V. and sofas were perched and the doors.

"I swear the stupid things multiply somehow." He commented, rapping one of the boxes with his knuckles. "Oookay. The door on the left, next to the half unpacked bookcase, goes to the bedroom. There's an en-suite bathroom attached. The door behind the bar thingy... I'm still working on what that's for. Apart from a place where my boxes can safely plot the overthrow of the human race, of course. There's some stuff that's kinda like food in the freezer, but I usually eat out or nuke a pizza. Er, go nuts." He concluded, shrugging expansively.

[Rukia]

"Hey, anything beats stayin' out on the streets, let me tell ya." She patted his arm. "Thanks again. So you got cable yet?" She grined as she walked over to the couch and flopped down. She picked up the remote and looked at A.J with mock distain, "You don't have anything else unpacked, but the remote... Typical male." She tried to laugh and yawned instead. She stretched and finally let the t.v rest. "Oh! I love this movie. Come watch it with me?" She said, slapping the couch. "I don't bite hard, promise." She jarred, sticking her tongue out.

"Freddie vs Jason 2?" A.J. asked, squinting at the screen. "I dunno, I prefer the first one. But sure. Want something to drink?" He asked, yanking the minifridge open and peering inside tentatively.

[Rukia]

"Uhh, water? If you have it." She said. "And what's wrong with the sequal? It's just as cheesy as the first. Besides Freddy Krueger is a legend. I mean not many characters can be decapitated and come back." She laughed. "Ooh this part is great...... whoosh! off with his arm! Splat!" She let out a short burst of manic laughter before clamping her mouth shut and blushing.
