Speaking of dragon-hugged.... Torma sat up on her hind legs. "Don't I get a hug?" she asked, and the tone of her voice and the gleam in her eye clearly proclaimed she was teasing him.

"You know me torma." he said with a smile though he still did not go through with the physical hug. He loved the little dragon, and would pet her, and scratch her behind her frilly ears when she was little. But a hug was a bit much for him to handle. He was getting better, but was not normal by any stretch.

That got her giggling, as she dropped back to all fours and stretched her head out to butt his chest again, Far More Gently. "If you do, I want a copy for my spellbook... OH YEAH! I didn't tell you!" Her head jerked up suddenly, eyes blazing with excitement. "I can cast spells now! I wanna learn as many as I can, they're so much fun! Would you teach me some of your spells?"Comrade Tortoise wrote:"You know me torma." he said with a smile though he still did not go through with the physical hug. Older. Wiser. RIiiiiiight. They're still in the middle of the street, with the gate guard finally catching up and looking at her worriedly as she stands in the street excitedly begging an elven mage to teach her spells.

"You can?! That's great!" he had a beaming smile on his face now. So much time around paladin's and clerics who used magic as a tool and didnt necessarily embrace it for magic itself like those who used The Art did.

"You will?!" Torma said, her eyes wide, then she squealed in happiness, stepping forward and nuzzling Astinius like a cat wanting a share of your food. Malkamar, decked out like a smith more than a fighter, cleared his throat. "Torma. Astinius. Good to see you." He smirked. "But do you need to have your heartfelt reunions in the middle of the street? People are staring."

FOr just a moment, Astinius let his personal space fortress collapse and let the dragon nuzzle him. He even did what could be considered a hug, considering it was just a head the size of his thorax he had contact with. Stil, it was the closest he would get to that sort of thing.

Torma started to answer, but got distracted.Comrade Tortoise wrote:FOr just a moment, Astinius let his personal space fortress collapse and let the dragon nuzzle him. "MALKAMAR!!!!" Cue happy greeting, second time around, as the copper dragon swung to face the dark-skinned man and head-butted him, barely remembering to not push too hard. "I thought I smelled you around! Now there's just Gaheris to find, he's here somewhere, I can smell him."Malkamar wrote:"Torma. Astinius. Good to see you." He smirked. A younger Torma would have considered that an invitation to run find Gaheris. Older, wiser Torma decided that Gaheris would show up when he felt like it. She hoped he didn't think he could sneak up on her. He'd done that once, grapping her tail to prove he could.

"Oomph!" Malkamr grunted as he was headbutted by a baby dragon. Well, that was a start to the day. He smiled and patted Torma on the head. "Things have been well. I've been working alot, there's always room for smiths these days."

"I've really missed you two," Torma said. "It's really nice to have us all back together again, once we find out where Gaheris is hiding, because I know he's around here somewhere and if he tries to grab my tail like he did when I was little I'm going to be very upset at him. Gaheris had planned to simply walk up, exchange greetings, and whisk the group away to somewhere more private, but that all went out the window in the first two seconds. Now he'd better defuse the situation as best he could.
Skirting the staring crowd, the paladin made for the captain of the watch, who was as busy trying to figure out what to make of this as anyone else on the street.
"Just Captain Hammersong! A word, if you please," he called out as he approached, consciously modifying his intonation from his customary speaking voice.

The man turned to face Gaheris. "Yes?" he said irritibly. Apparently rambuntious dragnonlings was not something he was accustom to dealing with.

Gaheris allowed himself a half-smile and, angling himself so that only Hammersong could see, flashed his holy symbol from beneath his cloak. "Grigor Khazar sends his compliments. The dragon's with me. I assure you that she won't cause the city any harm, though it would be a lie to say she's no trouble," he said with a wink. "If you'll let us be on our way, I'll get her out of sight."

Hammersong hesitated for a moment. "Right then. Get it out of here." He jerked his thumb towards the city proper. "They'll be all the Glooms of Hades to pay for the Abbot if this one makes trouble though."

"Right, then. Thank you, Captain." Gaheris turned and stalked off towards Torma and Astinius, grumbling good-naturedly about the exuberance of the spoiled (relative to his own childhood, anyway) young.

Torma wasn't really paying attention, her head rising as something attracted her senses. "I smell him..." she rumbled, stretching out her dragonic senses, her head swiveling on her flexible neck to scan the crowd.Comrade Tortoise wrote:"Oh, He is Gaheris, he will do what he wills... of course, that doesnt mean you cant give him a good thumping for it" the mage said, careful to skillfully avoid getting too clos to anyone who walked by. Someone she didn't recognize was walking their way, talking about spoiled children. "Astinius... Malk? Do we know him?" she said softly, her eyes narrowing as she focused closer.Gaheris wrote:"Right, then. Thank you, Captain." ((Spot check, I'm assuming, to recognize Gaheris under that fake scar? Or will it be a 'gimme' so Torma can have a little fun))

Torma did not pounce him, she was still studying the man's face, her head stretching out like a snake. It was clear when she figured it out, as her head jerked back in surprise, rattling her wings. "What did you do to your face!" she exclaimed to Gaheris. "You look terrible!"

"Shhhhhh," said Gaheris soothingly. "I'm all right; it's just a little makeup. Come on, it wouldn't do to hang around in the street for too long. We're attracting too much attention."

"Well of -course- we're attracting attention," Torma snorted. "I'm too pretty to be ignored." The last was said with such a wide grin, it was clear she meant them to laugh at her silliness. "You still look horrible. I knew it was really you."
But she turned, tilting her head towards Astinius. "Can you do me a favor, please? I have such an itch between my horns..." from silly to pouting, or so it seemed. Her scales were getting thicker, so it would take something stronger than fingers to really get rid of an itch. But if Astinius was walking and scratching her head, then he wouldn't be having to dodge contact with strangers.

Astinius obliged the dragon as they both walked down the street. Her presence was enough to keep people from getting too touchy feely with the mage for his liking.
"Now Torma, you realize we are going to have to polymorph you as soon as we get the chance right?" he said in a slightly hushed tone SIlent enough to not broadcast, but loud enough that those where were nearby wouldnt think to tune in

"You can try," she sniggered, since one of the things she'd learned was how to unlock her natural spell resisitance early. "Are you going to remember to give me clothing this time?" she teased.Comrade Tortoise wrote:Astinius obliged the dragon as they both walked down the street.
