As the Flame Tank fired at the TARDIS with its gigantic flamethrower -engulfing it in fire, Irene replied, "I see, but once we get out of the vehicle, we'll be vulnerable to the fire. The troops can't reach us either. It'll be stalemate. We need some offensive capability. Six-four, can you handle the tank?"

Irene got the reply in troubled voice, "negative, Ma'am. We can't even reach the sector, too many NOD rocket troopers and SAMs."

Meanwhile, in the building....

"Someone take care of the tank."

"With what? We're out of ammo."

Delta Force Darktrooper Ruiz gritted his teeth. If they still have the ammo, the Darktrooper gatling blaster was more than enough to blow the tank up, but now their supplies had been really exhausted.

It was a stalemate.

Aboard the A'millian Command Ship

"The planet's been overrun by worship of Nyarlathotep," the A'millian captain sighed. "It's become their mainstream faith. Some of the nation-states have even gone as far as to make it an official state religion."

"This is truly sad," Verishah lamented. "Clearly, we must save this world from such a lie run amok."

The Captain nodded, and said, "Glad to see you're willing to help us out, Miss..."

"Verishah," she grinned.

"And just how do you propose we 'save this world'?" Ra snapped.

"Simple," Verishah stated. "There was a time when my world was enslaved to religions of various kinds. It had been this way since the dawn of our civilization. But then one day, a few brave souls challenged the religious construct."

"Yes, yes, but how?!"

Verishah laughed, and said, "They challenged it, and provided their evidence. They stood atop the ruins of ancient temples, and gave their proof that the gods were false. Proof that many so-called miracles or divine intervention were actually the result of cunning and hard work. In many cases, a miracle can be explained by causality."

"I drank too much wine, I have to take a piss," Ra rolled his eyes, faking a French accent. "Causality."

"Seriously," the Sanet glared.

"You have a good point though," the Goa'uld sighed. "If we can convince them that everything their god does can be done with a Ha'tak, then... fuck, I'm beginning to sound like a Tau'ri."

"Our ancient teachers had no starships to demonstrate their idea; this means it should be even easier for us," Verishah agreed.

"Yes, but you must yet remain weary," Galadriel warned, finally speaking. "I see your mindset, but magical power does exist within the world."

"Yes, m'lady, but that only means the individuals people like Ellen or Demika call 'gods' are merely more powerful wizards," Verishah continued.

"Indeed," the elf nodded. "I am only warning you beforehand."

Just then, another man walked into the conference room. From his garb, he had just been off the surface.

"Ra? Lady Galadriel? You're truly here?" he asked.

"Last time I checked," the Goa'uld said, laying back in his seat.

He said, "The Lord and Lady wish to speak with you as soon as possible."

"Alrighty then, we'll go take a trip to A'millian Prime," Ra nodded. "We seem to get around a lot."

"Very well," the Captain said, rising from his seat. "We'll continue this discussion once you return."

Moments later, the Aurora blasted out of orbit, and once again went into hyperspace, toward A'millian Prime.

The Eleventh Doctor along with the Lord, Lady, and a number of other A'millian officers wait in the conference room; Ra would be arriving in minutes, and his party will be escorted to this room for a meeting as soon as they arrive.

"I don't think you understand the true severity of this situation, Lord Adam," the Doctor said, "if Nyarlathotep can redirect the TARDIS, then we must find a way to defeat him soon, before he becomes even more-"

He was interrupted by a sudden wheeze-groan as if from the engines of a landing TARDIS, and there was indeed the characteristic Police Box materialising in the centre of the room. "What am I - or what is he - should I say doing here?"

The doors of the new TARDIS opened, and out stepped the curly-haired and scarf-wearing Fourth Doctor. "Hello," he said calmly, "I'm the Doctor - as you might have guessed."

At the capital city's military base, the Aurora swooped in under the cover of night. Her automated beacon told the A'millians of her approach, and the sleek product of the last war was directed toward a landing hangar.

Soon, the ship was landed. With a flash of light from the Asgard transporters, Ra, Galadriel, and Verishah appeared outside the entrace to the great palace.

"Lord Adam has been expecting you, ma'am and sir," the door guard announced.

Soon, the three strode through the main doors, flanked by A'millian guards, toward the Lord and the Lady. Ra's expression immediately soured.

"Jesus, two of those damnable Timelords? This is beginning to look like a CIRCUS!" he roared. "And worse, two of those ass-ugly police boxes-"

Galadriel held up a slender hand, silencing him.

"You wished to speak with us, Lord Adam?" she spoke. "Indeed, we were seeking you out as well. I believe an exchange of information can benefit us both, considering the circumstances."

"Welcome," the Lady greeted them. "Who is your companion?"

Verishah bowed her head as was her custom, and said, "Lady, Lord, I am Verishah of the Sanet Aldar'al. I am only a linguist and cultural expert, but I offer my services to this group out of hope we can stop this threat."

"So, whassap?" Ra said, waving a hand. "I hope you don't mind, but I was forced to enact an emergency protocol without yours' or Supreme Chancellor Saan's approval, and take the Aurora from her berthing."

"From the snideness of your tone, I would think we or the good Chancellor were the last thing on your mind," the Lady laughed.

"I expect we have much to discuss," Galadriel stated.

"It isn't our fault the TARDIS looks like that," the Fourth Doctor said evenly, "its chameleon circuit is broken."

"We've been meaning to get it fixed but..." the Eleventh Doctor grinned sheepishly, "you know how it is."

"Well, as we know you are aware, we have located a planet which is full of beings who worship the entity, and have been monitoring it for several days now with our warships. Heh, warship, worship, get it? Haha... sorry. Anyway, the populace itself seems to be of little threat; we have found no evidence that they are capable of doing anything of substance: their technology is of no consequence, therefore, we feel they are probably negligable in the grand scale. However, the Doctor did metion something about the entity drawing energy from it's followers; we have been unable to prove this; do you have any supporting evidence to this?

"However, a bigger concern to us is finding the entity itself, and hopefully simply nuking it or something. We found that it does seem to have considerable magical power, but on the physical plane simply seems to masquarde as a human, spreading madness. We are hopeful that an automated weapon can take it out. What do you thing?"

"Sounds like a good plan," Ra said. "We could modify one of the Aurora's Naquada torps to explode when Nyarlathotep came near it. "I hate to say this, but I know firsthand that gods are no match for nuclear weaponry..."

Verishah glanced over.

Ra tossed her a copy of the Stargate Ultimate Edition DVD, and said, "Long story."

"Yes, and your plan would also annihilate millions of innocent lives," Galadriel glared.

"Well then, Miss Humanitarian, we can lure the bastard away from the cities," Ra sneered.

"Drawing power from his followers?" Verishah shuddered. "No, we haven't seen any proof for it but... If it's true, such a thing is... unthinkable..."

"You haven't met the Ori," Ra frowned. "For all we know, this bastard could be an Ori masquerading as a god."

"Regardless of who he is, this must be stopped," Verishah interjected. "A being that feeds off of people under his control is the darkest evil imaginable. This entire world's population will soon be reduced to walking corpses if a solution isn't found."

"I agree," Galadriel said. "Finding a solution will save this world, and reduce our enemy's power. Yet the same thing may happen on Earth. We must put our trust in our friends there."

"Not much of a trust to work with," Ra muttered. "A little girl, some fool witch, and her bumbling husband?!"

"There is more hope than you give credit, young one," Galadriel sighed, "But I admit, very little."

"Then, back to the point, what are we going to do?" Ra tilted his head.

"We must prove that what the A'millians say is true," Galadriel said, "and return to the planet. And Verishah is correct. We must also have our greatest minds working on a way to stop this power. But we must also discover that power, and give the scientists something to work with. This, and combating Nyarlathotep's religion directly, mean returning to the planet."

"Might I interject?!" the Fourth Doctor piped up, "We could drag him into the Time Vortex - he'll be much more vulnerable in there..."

The Eleventh Doctor grinned, "Yes, we could, but it would take an item capable of accessing the time vortex to do so..." he gestured towards the TARDISes, "but you lot don't like these 'ass-ugly police boxes'... so we'll never mind that idea and we'll use your idea, what do you say?"

Ra got right up in the Doctor's face, and hissed, "I REALLY don't like your attitude, Timelord."

Galadriel pulled the Goa'uld by his long, black hair, and said, "Now now, young one, I think you've been sleeping in that sarcophagus for far too long, and being away from it has had adverse affects on you."

"Are you saying I've got withdrawl syndrome?!" Ra roared.

Galadriel smiled lightly, and said, "Yes."

"You can't just draw a being of that kind of power into your fancy hoo-ha temporal inverse quantum nutrino washing machine," Ra huffed.

"Temporal quantum inverse nutrino," the Lady corrected with a wink. "If you're gonna technobabble it, technobabble it right."

"Point," the Goa'uld conceded. "But how do we know it's going to work? What assurances do you have beyond 'it's Timelord tech so it always works'? And how are we gonna get him in there? A hook? A FISHING NET?!"

"The mad Goa'uld, beyond his insane rantings, has a valid point," Galadriel sighed. "We have no easier a chance of success with your method than our own. Simply rushing into this will only make the situation harder in the future. And as I see it, both paths can hold great peril. We will think on this, but... time is running short, time machine or no."

"We have also acquired a copy of their book of beliefs, and I have people analyzing it as we speak. If the number of followers does not affect its power, aside from possible intel as to the location of the entity, I am failing to see any more reason to remain on the infested planet. Those followers are no threat to us, and they are more easily cured by destroying the source of their madness directly than attempting to talk to them."

"I agree that trying to directly preach to the population is wrought with peril," Galadriel said. "Though a noble cause, we are speaking of billions of people. Even we cannot take on such a task and easily win; it could take years, and risk death at every turn."

"As much as I want to help those people, I must agree," Verishah sighed. "Destroying the entity itself - or as I see it, eliminating the connection between him and his followers, thus weakening him enough to kill - is our best choice."

Ra shrugged, and said, "Pretty much."

Verishah stepped forward, and said, "Lord Adam, I do not speak for my government, but I am sure my people will offer any help they can in researching this problem. What would you say to this?"

"It's the Time Vortex," the Fourth Doctor said, "we merely need to open a portal - they tend to make people gravitate towards them... and it is not Time Lord tech, my ignorant and small-minded friend... it is no more our invention than the underlying hyperspace of the galaxy is yours."

As the TARDIS materialized itself in the building's much-ruined hall, Irene stepped out and yelled, "strap yourself in, boys! We don't have much time."

"Go go go!" The exhausted Dartktrooper squad rushed into the TARDIS, carrying their wounded comrades. It was just about time; they had clipped the last of their Tibanna ammo packs to fend off the intruders. Meanwhile, NOD Troopers and armed militias rushed into a building. The flame tank followed behind...

The door was closed as the last dark trooper got inside and the flames of the tank splashed harmlessly against the TARDIS doors.

"Anyone else?" the Fifth Doctor said, "Because I'd seriously like to get out of this bloody warzone."

"We need to locate him. That is one of our greatest priorities. Afterall, how can we nuke it if we don't know where it it? Also, you say eliminating the connection between him and his followers; first, are you quite certain it will help, and second, how do you propose we do that?"

OOC: KAN, have your boys contact Demika or the Seer (you'd actually be trying to reach Galadriel, but she's too far away) to try and rescue your captured soldier. Hell, his interrogation would be broadcast over international TV, just like in the real Mogadishu crisis, so we would know something of the situation. My plot excuse: Galadriel left a super-duper comunicator (say, Imperial or Asgard tech) with Demika to allow them to keep in touch.
===============

"If a being such as he truly draws power from followers, then yes, eliminating the connection must be a priority," Galadriel answered.

"The problem lies in the fact that we don't know how to do that," Verishah sighed.

"In other words, we'll have to do some investigating and general snooping around," Ra said, crossing his arms. "Sounds like business as usual."

"As for a way to accomplish it... I can't offer much, but maybe physically... isolating him with some kind of energy envelope could sever the connection," Verishah said, "But again, therein lies the problem of finding him in the first place, and targeting him with whatever device can accomplish that before he can destroy us all."

"Then it sounds like we've got a loooooooooooooooooong way to go then," the Goa'uld said, once again stating the obvious.

"Yes, much study and probing into these weaknesses is necessary," Galadriel sighed. "We must face the unfortunate fact that this will not be a swift battle, or victory."

"I'm afraid we might need a swift victory. As the Doctor showed us, the destruction spread by this is coming very quickly. In but two more weeks, we know for a fact that this world shall no longer be as it is now, and it could happen sooner. We must work quickly. I suggest we break now, all of us work on finding the entity, that should be our higest priority, and secondarily, get some people working on the connection issues. Talking any more would waste more precious time, now we need to act. If there are no other points, I suggest we all split back up and get to work."

OOC: But Wolcoot's whereabouts were unknown by the rest of the team. In fact, they all thought Wolcoot was already dead like the two Darktroopers who tried to rescue them. How about Kane contacting the TV instead?

=========================================================

in Sudan....

Chalk One and Chalk Three had been rescued by the TARDIS, while the remaining of Irene's forces retreated from Suddan. They were now safe in their base at Eritrea. The Crystal is, of course, still in their posession.

Little did they know that Keyan Wolcoot, the downed Six-Four, was still alive and being hate alive and being held captive at Kane's base in Sudan.

=========================================================

"Wolcoot, Keyan. Lieutenant. Serial Number TK 132.97.0505, Imperial Air Cavalry."

"You are not helping much, Lieutenant."

"Wolcoot, Keyan. Lieutenant. Serial Number TK 132.97.0505, Imperial Air Caval....." the words were cut with a scream of pain.

"So physical torture won't break you eh? Maybe you would like a short visit to the bowel of hell itself?"

Keyan Wolcoot tried to comprehend what the NOD officer meant by his sentence as a strange scene opened before his eyes. A peculiar, blaspemeous imagery that continued to expand until, from his perspective, appeared to engulf him in endless darkness of insanity. And a peculiar sound of drums. And a hint of piping flute. And the twirling chaos. And a dark man who went by the name 'Nyarlathotep'. And the Gugs. And the cats of Uthar. And the insane, ever-devoured Abdul Alhazred. And the accursed book whose title must not be spoken. And the old, cursed mansion named Derceto. All become one in his exploding mind, contracting and expanding, twirling and twisting. Insane, painful, and unspoken.

And after what it seemed to be endless eternity, the torment eventually gone.

"Now, Lieutenant Wolcoot, shall we continue?"

The voice still betrayed hints of defiance, but now it was an exhausted, tormented, labored sobs and whimper.

""Wolcoot, K-K-Keyan. Li... Lieutenant. Ser... Serial N-Number TK 1..32.9...7....0...5...0...5, Imperial... Air... C-Cavalry...."

Elsewhere
Ellen, Demika, Morfindel, and Taurandir were all packed in a rental car, driving down the interstate, towards NOD's secret facility in Norfolk.

"Being around familiar company has... helped," Morfindel said, breaking the silence.

"My company's not good enough for you, Mor?" Demika teased. "Miss Commander Baeryna's warm, dark hand again?"

"No, of course not," Morfindel frowned. "This is an alien world to me, and the events of the last week have taxed heavily on my spirit. Being among the followers of Eilistraee once more has given me some peace."

"Aye, this has been a bit unnerving," the tiefling confessed.

"The Seer has given me guidance," Morfindel continued. "She truly is as wise as stories tell, if not moreso."

"She's also our best chance for stopping NOD," Demika smirked. "She's got a small army of warriors and monks. The only problem is that they need training in use of this plane's prefered weapons, as grizzly as they may be."

"I couldn't agree more," Morfindel nodded. "She is our one hope right now. We know nothing of what our other friends are doing."

"We're almost there," Ellen warned. "Getting into the place won't be easy, I bet."

"Oh, yes it will," Demika said, waving a hand dismissively. "Few magical wards can stand up to two mages pounding on them."

"Well, getting in the door might not be that hard, I guess," Ellen sighed, "But what then?"

"We haven't come to play games," Morfindel said. "We've come to see what they're up to, and if possible, smite their ruin."

"Call in the troops to deal with them?" Demika laughed.

"Perhaps," Morfindel said.

"Though for now, staying out of sight is our best option," Taurandir added. "Simply gather what information we can. Without blowing down the door."

"Well, I guess we'll see when we get there," Ellen nervously laughed.

Destructionator XV wrote:"I'm afraid we might need a swift victory.
"Certainly," the Fourth Doctor said, stepping into his TARDIS before pausing for a moment and pulling out a small brown bag. "Oh, and I almost forgot - would anyone like a jellybaby?"

"You and your bloody jellybabies," the Eleventh Doctor muttered.

"Well I don't see you offering them anything!"

"I left the jellybabies aboard the TARDIS," he admitted, "not that it matters."
