Heroes: Eve of Destiny

"I've faced worse," he said softly, "Back on the East Coast, when I was younger..I was hooked up with a group of self-styled super heros, called themselves the Guardian Force. We fought alot of big means back then...one who managed to turn back local time on a few of the team..and turn us into kids."

Under the helmet, he looked almost wistful, but the voice didn't betray it, "Thing is, we managed to beat him, and those kids weren't half as powerful as Big Hero and Freakface back there....don't worry gorgeous...."

His hand reached forward, to the other two, it would look like he was reaching for the door, but instead his hand cupped the dragon's head lightly, "We'll be fine....and since your here...it'll be even better..."

What totally spoiled the romantic moment was the dragon's eyes, suddenly rounded wide in surprise, followed by a wave of amusement and the first laughter he'd heard from her. "-The- Guardian Force?! I thought that you were just stealing the costume! My cousins idolized you!"

His hand slipped over the dragons muzzle, just a reflexive. He didn't want the others to hear her. Not that he wasn't proud of his past, but he preferrd not thinking about it. "Yeah...don't go apreading it around. I don't let to many know about it. I've done damn good to disguise that fact to..."

"Now...shush darling..thier coming..." he said, before turning the helmet head towards Blackheart and Legacies.

[Charon]

Legacies stalked towards the door, he thought for a second that he heard something. "Talking to yourself Saibot?" Legacies came to a stop beside the door, a single tendril seeping past the impeedment to make sure there was nothing on the other side. "How do we want to run this?"

His hand slipped over the dragons muzzle, just a reflexive. He didn't want the others to hear her. Not that he wasn't proud of his past, but he preferrd not thinking about it. "Yeah...don't go spreading it around. I don't let to many know about it. I've done damn good to disguise that fact to..."

"Now... shush darling.. thier coming..." he said, before turning the helmet head towards Blackheart and Legacies.

Grabbing her muzzle was useless, it was only a focus of shadow and cobwebs she used to give him someone to talk towards. Otherwise her voice would seem to come from every shadow. His attempt to silence her only made her more amused, as the draconic head playfully escaped his grasp. "I stole my cousin's action figure of the White Guardian, you know... I'll have to find where I left it..." she teased, keeping her voice lower, even as those argent eyes sparkled in the shadows.

"Talking to yourself?"

The Dragon suddenly dove back into the shadow under Saibot's feet leaving only a tiny ripple to show her passage. As Legacies moved closer the silver eyes moved to watch him so to best stay out of his sight.

Like that, Argent had disappeared back into her shadows, and Legacies was there.

"Yeah, I got bored waiting for you two, and decided to have a intellegent conversation for once." he smirked, and it reflected in his voice.

"Hero here tells us how to do this..he's incharge. I just found where he went."

[Charon]

The symbiote watched as the ripples stopped in Saibot's shadow. That was an oddity. Mark saw the ripples himself as Legacies fed the information into his brain almost directly. Saibot was up to something.

"Intelligent conversation, sure." Legacies grinned, though you couldn't tell through the mask it was evident in his voice. "So where the hell did you go?" The suit's head had returned to it's plain face, making the fact that both Mark and Legacies were watching Saibot's shadow almost impossible to see.

The silver eyes reappeared in a shadow on the wall behind Legacies' back, watching and listening to him and Saibot. It would be interesting to hear what excuse Saibot gave for going missing for an hour....

"Got distracted by a pair of nice tits, met Abaddon, got kicked in the ribs by him, got brought to his base, got out of his base....what have you been doing? Baking cookies?"

Saibot was almost sarcastic through it all, stepping back from the door.

[Charon]

Legacies didn't even noticably react before a tendril lashed out and cut a large chunk out of the wall behind him. In a moment he had turned around, claws out. "Yeah well it looks like you brought something back with you." Legacies looked back at Saibot. "I certainly hope not on purpose. Though I would wonder why they would just let you get away."

[LadyTevar]

The silver eyes blinked... 'nice pair of tits'? Did he really say... A brief wave of shock echoed thru to Saibot as Legacies lashed out and demolished the wall where she'd been hiding, barely leaving her time to slip to another shadow.

"Don't hurt me!" she exclaimed, her voice seeming to arise from every shadow surrounding Legacy and Saibot. "Gar... Saibot took me with him when he left the base." Close enough to the truth to work, as she slipped herself into Saibot's own shadow for protection.

[Shark Bait]

Demise remained motionless as the cyborg called for help. He would escape then. For the moment he was trapped.

Hazard let out a low moan when the freak kicked him. That bastard. If he still had his gun he'd make him suffer...

The helicopter came in low and hovered near Niner and the first man Seven had captured two EMTs and four Ultima Bureau agents jumped out. One EMT, and two agents went to Hazard and the others ran towards Seven.

When the EMT got to where seven was he bent down over the man who had been shot, and opened his bag, taking out a pair of bandage-scissors he cut the man’s shirt open to get a better look at the wounds. When the shirt was cut open he stopped there was blood but not much, more shocking however was the complete lack of entry wounds. The EMT ran a gloved hand over the man’s abdomen wiping away some of the blood. “What the fuck…â€

When Legacies lashed out, Saibot's own saber was out in a blur of motion, and the point was nearing the base of Legacies' neck . It was reflex, pure and simple, and he slowly brought the blade back and away from his ally.

"She's with me," he said coldly, "She's the reason I got out."

"Now...drop that, and let's deal with Abaddon...I got some payback to give him"

[Agent Fisher]

Niner reached for his radio, but found nothing.

Shit, gave it to the cyborg.

He turned to one of the Ultima agents.

"Give me your radio."

The agent handed it over.

"This is Niner, shooter is secure, requesting instructions."

Niner then put the radio in the pouch on the vest he was wearing.

[Charon]

Legacies looked at Saibot. "Keeping secrets like that on a mission is what gets people killed Saibot. I would expect a rookie to make a mistake like that." Legacies looked over to the shadow. "I'm watching you." Legacies didn't like surprises, especially when dealing with something as dangerous as Abaddon. Legacies cursed under his breath, his reactions just gave Abaddon more to work with.

"I didn't exactly have time to tell you, besides, she was suppossed to wait outside. Don't worry, she won't be a problem, will you darlin?" he spoke softly to her, he didn't want Abaddon, if he was still close by, to pick up to much of the convo.

Saibot held the sword loosely in hand, letting it rest at his side, though easily brought into action.

"No ... I just ... wanted to protect you...," she said, as slowly she emerged from the shadows at Saibot's feet. Making no sudden moves, Argent simply was allowing Legacy to see her fully, to hopefully see her as no threat. Unconsciously, her empathy sent out a simple message of 'harmless - don't hurt me' as she stood there with only a slight aura of shadowy wings surrounding her, one hand reaching out to take Saibot's free hand.

Of course, not an hour ago this woman was in the middle of the Metas attacking the Rally.

Legacies groaned, they weren't... they couldn't... why now of all times... Just when he thought things were bad they just had to get worse didn't they. "Why me." I can see no particular reason why, though perhaps some past action could-. (The italics are Legacies in his head) "Shut up."

"Don't worry Legacies, if things get in a pinch, she is real handy at teleporting...." Saibot's hand took her smaller one and squeezed it reassuringly.

"Now...we have a bad guy to take down, don't we?"

The emotions she was reading from Legacies made Argent squeeze Saibot's hand a little tighter. "I don't think he approves...." she says sadly, her ebony eyes looking up to Saibot. "But he's not going to attack me again...."

"Doesn't matter if he approves" he stated softly, "Just as long as we get the job done. Legacies knows I won't let anything get inthe way of a job."

He didn't let go of her hand though, and he faced Legacies, "Isn't that right old friend?"

[Charon]

Legacies looked over to Blackheart and sighed, shaking his head. "It's your call boss." The silve figure looked back at the woman. "You're right, I won't. Not as long as you don't become a threat."

Blackheart? When did the other one show up? Why didn't she sense him coming? Unconciously she stepped closer to Saibot, drawing comfort from how calm he 'felt' during this little confrontation with his teammates, and from the solid reassuring knowledge that he would protect her.

After all, despite everything that happened this past hour, Saibot loved her, she could Feel it. It was a heady feeling, she wanted to be worthy of this love. Thus, she did not flee, did not back down ... and trusted in Saibot.

"Hey gents, this is Blast, where the hell are you guys?" Blast asked arriving at the scene of the battle.

[Cynical Cat]

"Crawling around a building and trying to find Abaddon," responded Blackheart. "Found something else instead." He killed the speaker and adressed Argent. "If you play ball we won't have a problem."
