Niner opened one of his eyes. All he saw was black.
Hmmm
He opened his other eye and saw the sky and part of the roof.
That would the black.
He sat up holding his head.
he tapped his radio to transmit.
"This is Niner, whats happened?"

After Sabot's shield gave out, Blast rather groggly slapped one of his own up. It was semi-transluient with waves of yellow's, red's and orange's. He had no idea what that meant in the terms of the consturction of the shield but it would keep just about anything out.
Disoritented in his shield, Blast attempted to pull himself togather.

As soon as Hazard fired the shot he moved. A good sniper never stays in one place. When he moved Seven fired. The first round collided with the rifle itself, penetrating halfway through and rendering it useless for the moment. A split second later the second round collided with his body armor at the shoulder. The penetrator round bored through the plating and pierced his shoulder. He gritted his teeth in pain though in actually it would have been a lot worse.
He immediatly fell to his back and rolled away out of sight, leaving the useless rifle. As soon as he was under cover he unbuttoned his cargo pocket on his pants and pulled out a small vaccum sealed pack of quickclot. Ripping open the package he leaned back and poured the powder into the bullet hole in his shoulder. With his other hand he pressed the powder into the wound as deep as he could. The chemical reacted quickly with the blood forming a clot to prevent bleedout. He winced as the burning senation overtook his shoulder. It would pass in a minute or two but it hurt like a bitch.
He unstrapped his sidearms and flicked off the safeties. A pair H&K USP match 9mms loaded with APDS rounds, dull black without a hint of flashy chrome. He took a cautionary peak around the corner of the air conditioner he was hiding behind and glanced towards where he had taken fire from. He wasn't going to try for simple knockouts anymore. He was going for broke. He thought he saw movement and saw the mutant he had put down earlier sit up. His tranq darts would definatly have to be modified with a higher dosage.
Next to the mutant was someone else, human by the look of him. And he was holding guns. So he was the bastard...
Hazard moved back around the cover and then moved to the other side. Fixing his sites on approximatly where the target was he popped up. As luck would have it, he was almost dead on. He moved the guns a touch and fired off a pair of rounds before dropping back under cover.
---------
Abaddon strolled calmly across the street to the park, the sun reflecting off his mirror shades. He started using his power, like flexing a muscle. The concrete sidewalk beneath his feet started to crumble, the grass before him died. He looked across the battlefield and paused for a second to crack his neck before continuing to walk. He looked around to find his target. A costumed hero hiding behind a flickering shield. He unbuttoned his suit jacket. This should be fun.

This was going down hill fast. He was losing people. Blackheart struck out with the full force of his flash vision at Abaddon.

Niner saw Seven open fire and then getting shot at. It took a second and then he realized.
Oh shit, I could get hit.
He immediately ducked down and moved behind cover. He looked out from behind the cover and focused on a rooftop behind the shooter. He drew up his power and teleported behind the shooter. He jumped behind cover right away and started throwing weak energy balls. The hits wouldnt kill, but they would hurt.

Seven saw Hazard move then step out from behind his cover and fire, Seven fired at almost the same time but he was hit though right as he pulled the triger again. The first round struck seven in the left shoulder and burried it's self in the shoulder's support structure, it would limit lifting power till the part could be fixed. The second hit lower and imbedded it's self deep in the heavier armor of his chest, that would take a good bit of work to extract.B4UTRUST wrote:Hazard moved back around the cover and then moved to the other side. Seven's shot went wide and struck the side of air conditioning unit next to Hazard's head. Seven dove behind the cover of a stairwell access and attempted to re activate his camoflauge, his "wound" sparked as the camoflauge flickerd to life. The system was dammaged and was losing power it would last another ten or fifteen min, with just a little luck that would be enough time. Seven repositioned himself from the other side of the roof access and watched for Hazard again

Legacies appeared amidst the last of the clones as they searched for him. "Hello and goodbye." A tendril whipped around Legacies and the clones disappeared in clouds of dust. It was then he noticed Saibot was missing and his knife was lying on the ground. A tendril reached out and wrapped around the hilt, as symbiote touched metal a jolt passed through Legacies. What the hell was that? The tendril pulled back at an amazing rate and sooner than it should have been it was in Legacies hand. "This can't be good, Saibot wouldn't leave this behind if he was able."
Legacies eyes fell over the form of Abaddon as he strolled towards the recruit. The norms were gone, that meant no more need to play nice. A tendril slipped around one of the downed trees and Legacies whiplashed the tree over his head and careening towards the rogue meta. Between a lifting strength of 10 tons and a vastly increased speed, it might make a dent in the tough meta... at the very least it was definately going to get his attention. "Hey Glasses, catch!"

Hazard heard the wind whip by his face as another round came his way. He thought he had hit the guy, maybe not. Was his luck running out? The thought was a little disconcerting.
A ball of teke energy slammed into the A/C unit next to his head. He glanced over at the hole that was punched through it. Either the shooter was using bigger rounds or he had more company.
A second ball slammed into his back and threw him against the unit. His armor had absorbed a lot of the damage but that hurt like a bitch. A third and fourth ball collided with him too, bruising and cracking his ribs inside his armor. Fuck!
He dropped down and rolled, biting his lip to keep from yelping in pain. Another barrage of balls struck where he had been a second ago. Rising to a knee he fired off a few return shots at whoever was attacking him from behind before dropping back down under cover.
He was now pinned in and injured. This was not a pretty situation. Hopefully his luck would hold out and he'd make it out alive.
---------
The flash vision attack struck him, though it was weakened by his field. Instead of vaporizing him it gave him one hell of a bad burn and reduced the outer layer of his suit to thread-bare rags. He glanced down at his suit then at Blackheart.
"That's was a $1000 suit, asshole!" he shouted towards the flying Meta.
He heard something flying towards him. He turned and was greeted by the sight of a flying tree hurling towards him. The tree was already damaged from the battle already. It hit his field and it damn near fell apart. He caught the tree, his hands digging deep into the thick trunk.
With a movement he brought the tree down across his knee, breaking it in half. He moved his arm back and hurled half the tree trunk at Blackheart. The other half he held in front of him like a baricade and charged Legacies. A few yards from the symbiote he tossed the tree trunk a few feet into the air and with his other hand punched it. The tree trunk remained mostly intact aside from the gaping holes from his fists.
As the tree hurled towards Legacies Abaddon followed closely behind, sprinting just behind the trunk, throwing his arms up to ram through the trunk and into his target if he should catch the tree.

Blackheart jinked to the side to avoid the incoming tree trunk. It was too little, too late. His armoured forearms took the brunt of the blow as he was knocked back a half dozen feet. That's going to leave a bruise, he thought.
His flash vision hadn't don't much to Abaddon. Time to improvise. He severed a lamp post at the base with his flash vision, gripped it with hands that left gouges in the metal, and power slammed Abaddon from above and behind with a diving, two handed swing.

Legacies jumped backwards as Abaddon closed in, he had to keep his distance from that field that had been mentioned in the briefing. Legacies was still in the air as the tree trunk hurtled towards him, placing one foot on the tip of the tree trunk Legacies wrapped around his end and then brought his other foot down on the trunk, putting it, and him, into a spin. As Legacies crouched in to make his spin faster the tree trunk quickly wizzed around the silver figure vertically to the ground once before slamming into Abaddon's cranium.
Legacies let go of the log then and pushed off of it as hard as he could to both further unbalance the brute and gain some much needed distance.

Niner ducked behind cover as the shooters rounds came towards him. He heard a thunk behind him and then one right ahead of him. The round had punched through the cover and kept on going. His eyes popped open when he saw the hole. He raised up a teke shield and kept lobbing energy balls.

Blast shook away the cobwebs and slowly gathered himself togather. Man, he had a headache... Hope he hadn't landed on his head. He looked up and almost choked with surprise. The guy in front of him was charging Legacies and had shruged off a hit from Blackheart. What was his power? Blast struggled to remember, but his head just hurt to damn much for thought. Go with what usually works.
Blast lifted his hand, pointing in the direction of the meta holding a tree truck. Again a rolling blast of energy shot across the field of battle, it's hungry brightness seeming to longingly reach for it's target...

The Shadowdragon slowly reformed near Ember's corpse, staying low to avoid being seen by the two meta vainly standing up to Abaddon. That was a fight she did not want to get caught in. Gently, the shadows enfolded around the abused body of her friend, drawing a merciful darkness over the face now swollen hideously by the multiple bee-stings. The body vanished into the inky darkness that made up the lower body of the dragonform, tucked for safekeeping.
The head turned at the cracks of gunfire from the nearby roofs. Hidden eyes tried to see who was getting the better of the firefight, when something moved over the rooftop.
(Edit: part about Saibot's weapon, sorry)

Something had moved up there ... a ripple like a heat wave, to purposeful to be natural, leaping between buildings? Her head lowered, torn between safety and curiousity ...Seven dove out from his cover thankful for his active camo, and then ran across a small portion of roof before leaping onto another one. Seven then ducked between several AC units then jumped to a building behind Hazard’s position.
Her head jerked towards where the blast originated. Where'd that hero come from? Obviously he'd taken the worst of someone's blows.Blast lifted his hand, pointing in the direction of the meta holding a tree truck. Abaddon expected the trunk to stop. He didn't expect it to be turned directly back against him however. The trunk was by now very weak and he had expected to break through it. When it hit him his arms were still up to ram through it. It still stopped him though. He staggered back in a rain of splinters. As he staggered a lamp post collided with the back of his head. The lamp post broke and Abaddon fell to the ground.
He rolled to avoid a second strike and began to get to his feet. As he got up he was strunk from the side by an energy blast. The blast sent him flying, tossing him a few yards before he crashed to the ground once more, tendrils of smoke rising off his burned body.
Blisters were readily apparent on his exposed skin and what remained of his suit seemed to have burnt off or melted to his skin. His hair appeared to have burnt off, leaving numerous burn patches across his scalp.
He pushed himself to his feet. Smoke continued to drift off of him, giving him the horrid appearance of the demon he was named after.
"Oh that's it. Death is too good for you fucks."
He cracked his knuckles again and started walking towards Blast. These assholes were going to pay for ruining his suit. If he was nice he might even let them live.
----------
Hazard heard the energy balls strike around him. He held his head down behind cover. He heard something to his side and he felt a stabbing pain in his knee as the first bullet tore into it. A second round buried itself in his thigh while the third penetrated the concrete. Blood flowed from the wounds and he fought back a cry of pain. This was not going good at all. Fuck it. He pulled his leg out of the path of incoming fire and stuck his gun out and started firing till he unloaded the clip. He flicked the release and the magazine fell to the ground as he pulled the gun back under cover.
He loaded a fresh mag and with his other hand pulled off one of the gernades he was wearing on the bandola around his neck. He pulled the pin with his teeth and tossed it towards where the meta throwing energy balls at him was.

Niner saw the grenade coming towards him.
Toss back or deflect?
He grabbed it with TK and pushed it backwards, so it was hanging over the shooter at about 15 meters, and raised a shield close to him to protect from any stray fragments.

Sensor sweep clear, civilians removed from immediate harm. Surveying situation
Things weren't looking good. His first duty was to the civilians, and with the copies causing constant threats to the withdrawl, he couldn't abandon the helpless humans. Now that most or all of them were moved to safety, he ran back to the main conflict. His voice boomed through the area. "Federal Agent! Cease all hostile activities immediately or be subdued by force." The warning was protocol. His gun was drawn, and finding the closest hostile target, the weapon still set to stun. The first person to make a hostile move would recieve an electrical shock designed to stun and disable, not kill.
Meanwhile, he continued running towards Blast. The recruit did not appear to be in good shape, and Abbadon would likely make short work of him alone.

Argent was so shocked she nearly lost her dragonshape. These metas had HURT Abaddon.
Time to go. Away. Far away. The 'Frisco in 1906 would be safer than staying in this park with a pissed Abaddon. Only the rapid-fire release of a machinegun on the rooftop made her change her destination. Falling into the shadows, she reformed in the alley where Abaddon and Hazard had oversaw the mission, remaining in her dragon-form so she would not lose Ember's body. She had to keep it safe, she had a promise to keep."Oh that's it. Death is too good for you fucks."

"You gotta be kidding... Where do they keep coming up with you fucks?" Blast muttered loosly. He was getting more coherent, but a part of his mind was seriously wondering if that was such a great idea. That thing was now advancing on him. Didn't union rules call for a break or something about now? Shit.
It was like fighting that damn tank, only this one talked. Blast raised his hand again and fired.
"Just fucking stay down!" He cried as a rolling stream of energy leapt across the space between them.

Saibot remained on the ground while Abaddon and Hazard went about their business, only half there through the haze of pain and lust still tumbling though his mind.
Never had he felt desire on such a level, so intense that he forgot everything, but wanting to take the woman then and there. He could still taste her lips, how sweet they were, through the helmet..the feel of her body as he held her..
He groaned as he began to sit up, his chest and side exploding in pain from the broken ribs, knowing he needed to breath, he reached up, unclasped the helmet, and let it fall to the hard pavement.

Blackheart focused the full force of his flash vision beams at Abaddon's back, aiming for his spine. "Abaddon!" he roared. He was relatively safe, hovering a half dozen meters off the ground, but Blast wasn't. He could let Abaddon have free reign with the rookie.
It's not that I'm unforgiving, it's that most of the people who wrong me are unrepentant assholes.

"So... That's what you look like," The shadowdragon behind him said, coalesing back down into human. A trailing shadow remained, draped like a sheet over the body of her friend, hiding it from sight. Argent stepped closer, leaning down to look Saibot in the face, where he could finally get a good look at her delicate oriental features, and the seemingly endless black holes that should be her eyes. No white shown in the corners, no iris gave colour to them, it was as if they were all pupil and as dark as the shadows she controlled. "I'm surprised you can move, hero..."Dark Silver wrote:Saibot remained on the ground while Abaddon and Hazard went about their business, only half there through the haze of pain and lust still tumbling though his mind.

When those green eyes looked into those depthless black orbs, he felt the lust well up again. She was beautiful, exotic, and exquisite. He had to have her, to possess her.
But how much of that was his own, and how much of it was from whatever power she used on him. She was a unknown, and it intrigued him. He could admit to himself, that if they had meet on the street, he'd have wanted her, but he didn't think nearly so badly as his body cried out for her now.
He groaned, the voice nowhere near as deep and threatening as it sounded within the helmet, but still masculine, still deep enough to not be mistaken. His lips parted in something instead of a groan, as he nearly lost himself in her eyes..."Your......beautiful..." he said, as if it meant everything in the world.

".... I hit you too hard. You're seeing things." She tried to sound jaded, as if this was something she did every day. He was the first Meta she'd had to focus that much of her influence on. His stubborn will had nearly won, forcing her to pour more emotion into him. She hoped she hadn't broken him entirely. "In a day or so, you'll hate me for doing this to you." After all... everyone else did.Dark Silver wrote:When those green eyes looked into those depthless black orbs, he felt the lust well up again. She was beautiful, exotic, and exquisite. "No..." he said, sounding defiant. He tried to get up, to his feet, but doubled over, on his knees as the pain of the broken ribs spread out over him. Afrom the groan, he uttered no other words, no sounds, except heavy wheezing as he tried to breath.LadyTevar wrote: ".... I hit you too hard. You're seeing things." "What.....did you....do.....to me..." he said, his will reasserting itself for a moment, clenching his right hand into a fist. The life support field which would aid in the healing, and dull the pain, flickered for a moment, to dull life, before disappearing again. To much pain, and whatever Argent had done, he couldn't use his powers.
At the moment, he wasn't sure he wanted to...
