Blast threw himself into the helicoptor and belted himself into his seat, it would be embaressing to die by falling out of the vehicle enroute.

"Where we heading?" He asked.

Yellow shafts of energy blasted into the concrete as the chunks flew towards Gravitas, exploding them into so much concrete dust and some small rocks.

Saibot, his Dragon Saber held in one hand, had arrived, his ring giving him the speed advantage. He surveyed the situation on his approach, and made his decision. One Meta was protecting the civilians as best he could, but he was outnumbered.

Badly.

He floated above the scene, his sword flashing in the air before him, and more of the energy arrows appeared "Laser Arrows, fire" he spoke, as they began to rain upon Doppleganger and Argent.

It was then that Avatar smashed to the ground, sending small chunks of pavement flying in every which direction around his feet. Nothing dangerous though. He was around two meters from Gravitas and poked his head round the corner. The one surrounded by heat distortion was probably the most dangerous. He would Have to take care of her quickly.

He clenched his fist and increased the air pressure around her, just to the limit of human survival. She breathed a few breaths of the compressed air. Nitrogen disolved into her blood. A few seconds later he brought the pressure back to normal. Her lungs expanded faster than she could exhale and the nitrogen decompressed too quickly. Her lungs ruptured, haemoraging blood into her lungs and causing her to cough up her precious crimson vitae.

He braced for the inevitable counter attack which he knew as about to befall him. He was lucky it was daylight.

Niner looked out the window as the chopper tilted forward and headed as fast as possible towards the battle.

"Whats our ETA?"

Gravitas situation had gone from Bad, to Worse, to Now They've Got Backup.

As the chunk flew at him, he dropped to the ground, landing lightly on his feet. It would give him precious scant seconds before more of his wall was torn away, and he had to use that to think of how to deal with the new contenders. Lightning blasts, area of intense heat, and dopplegangs.

The pavement around him began to crack and tear; he was gathering together power. This wrote out returning to his campsite anytime in the next week, but it would buy precious time. Chunks of concrete began to orbit the Nova, and he moved forward.

Ultima still wasn't here. Okay. He'd have to find a way to throw down without using his offensive powers. Maybe he could just let go when the rocks were aimed at one of these punks..

And then the Nova, though to Saibot, he was still a Meta, had landed and set up a wall. The laser arrows stopped in thier hailing of the foes, for whatever damage they did, and he extended a beam of energy from his ring, to emcompass the civilians in the semi-translucent blue glow of a energy bubble.

"I've got the civilians" he spoke in the communicator, "evaccing them to a safe distance"

And with that, he began the evac process, the first group, as many as he could encompass and safely carry, and took to the air, depositing them on a ooftop several blocks away, and eturning for the next. It'd take awhile, and even with the speed his powers granted him, he was still no Sonic Boom, the metahuman speedster who was rumored to be able to attain significant fractions of c with no ill effects....like dying.

But still, every load put less people in the line of danger, and let the others use thier powers to the fullest.

"Legacies, where are you when I need you, you rictus grinning freak" he said, even though he didn't mean for it to go out on the comm channel, it did.

He braced for the inevitable counter attack which he knew as about to befall him. He was lucky it was daylight.
Daylight faded far too quickly for it to be natural as the shadow outline of a dragon looms over his crocidian head. The wings, suggestive of a bat, cover him in darkness as the head with its blurred jaws and horns bite down upon him, drowning him in the depths of pure pain as if his lungs were the ones that were bursting within his chest.

From where she stood near Ember's collapsed form, the girl calling herself Argent controlled the shadow dragon, feeding Ember's emotions and pain into Avatar's mind through the dragon's shadowy bite. She could feel Ember dying, and it was only just that her attacker know exactly what it felt like.

Legacies looked over at Niner. "About a minute, maybe less." Legacies stuck his head out the side of the helicopter, it was pretty obvious where the trouble was coming from. Legacies told the pilot to turn sideways to their destination for a few seconds and then returned to the cargo room just as Saibot made a comment about him. "Rictus grinning freak huh?" He looked at everyone in the helicopter. "Hold on to something." He waited until everyone was strapped in and holding onto something before he launched himself out of the helicopter, his suit shifting as a large spiky mouth grew from him and his hands grew into large claws.

Legacies caught a tendril on a nearby building and used it to launch himself faster, going into camo as he did, he was almost on his targets.

As avatar screamed, he could only feel pain. But nothing this horrible could possibly be real. Or could it? As his mind screamed he thought of how lycantrhopes and vampires seemingly didnt exist. What about dragons? No, too big, they certainly would have been found. He knew it was an illusion, but he couldnt do anythng about it. He felt as if his lungs were being crushed. The same pain that girl was feeling. But if she didnt feel anymore... he couldnt see her through the illusion. He lacked fine control in his pain. The best he could do with his mind right now were big things, essentially lashing out with his emotions and hoping nature responded. His mental scream called out to every living thing within several hundred meters.

Most things were dead or had fled. Save for a hive of bees which was evacuating their hive at the smell of smoke from the fires. Hearing Avatar's desperate call for aid they overcame their natural aversion to fire and flew toward him. Thousands and thousands of worker bees enthralled to his frenzied emotions and pain. He was one of theirs, higher even than their queen and every last one was willing to die in his defense.

They arrived in moments. A swarm of introduced European honeybees. They struck out at Ember and her nearby friend Argent. Tahousands of bees thousands of stings. Climbing through their hair and stinging every inch of exposed flesh.

Each sting was a kamakazi mission, and several enterprising bees made the treck down through Ember's blood filled nasal cavity to sting her in the throat. Her mind and her emotions would fail as soon as she died.

In the meantime, Argent was in for a world of pain herself. SUicidal bees lashing out at her with venom filled ovipositors. Avatar was in too much pain to even direct the insects. But perhaps, just perhaps, her concentration would be disrupted enough for Avatar to strike back directly.

The chopper rocked to the side. The pilots could be heard cussing at the swinging meta. The chopper came low over a roof and hovered at around four feet off the roof for a few seconds. Niner jumped out and the chopper pulled away. Niner ran to the edge of the roof facing the bad guys and start throwing energy balls at the hostiles. Because he was throwing a large number very rapidly, the balls were low powered, but would still hurt if they hit somone. Most hit the street and left small craters.

As everyone was jumping out of the chopper Seven decided it was time he made his move too, as the chopper passed low over a building he simply stepped out, then tucked and rolled accross the roof. Then as he moved to a crouched position he activate his camo systems and drew his guns. Once the system was charged he snuck towards the edge of the roof, below him he could see two mettas swarmed by bees, one of them was allready on the ground writhing in agony. The other was still standing and fighting off the bees, "Damn" he thought to himself, "I really wish I had grabbed a sniper rifle." he then pulled back from the edge of the roof and began slinking down the fire escape, with any luck he could get behind the attacking mettas without being noticed.

Most of those Argent had thrown, where disintigrated in the hailstorm of energy arrows he had sent raining down upon the duo, but a few sizable chunks had made it throw. And even though his life support field protected him from the worse, and his costume was padded to take some impact from blows, the telekinetic was throwing with enough force, that he could feel the damage to his ribs.

It strained his concentration, the pain clouding his mind somewhat, but he focused on the rescue operation, picking up another group of thirty or so people left from the riot. Thankfully, most had started to flee, but some few lacked the ability or will to get out on thier own, and that was who he was helping.

As he obtained the second load, the helicoptor arrive, and he just managed to see Legacies swing out, before the bastard camoflauged himself for the approach.

"About damn time..." he whispered to himself...

With a scream of pain that was transmitted directly into Avatar's brain, Argent swatted at the first of the stinging insects, before managing enough concentration to sink into the shadows at her feet, leaving the swarm to buzz frenziedly around Ember's corpse.

Argent reformed within the shadow dragon itself, the great beast shrinking down to a simple aura surrounding her body. "No one was supposed to die," she snarled as she glared down at Avatar's helpless form. Bees touched the inky aura around her and fizzled into nothingness, unnoticed in her anger. "Life for a life, -hero-" she spat, and guided by her hands the concrete at his feet rose up into the air and collected around his body, trying to crush the life out of him as she bombarded his mind with pain and fear, stolen from the crowd and from Ember's last gasps of life.

Legacies noticed his target, there were about 7 or 8 of the same guy. Very well. Legacies crouched into a ball just in time to slam into one of the duplicates and send the man sprawling to his feet. Legacies was on his feet in a moment as a long tendril with a ball at the end formed from his body and swung around him at waist level, aimed at knocking down the other duplicates.

He may have been paralyzed with pain and fear, but his hight offlight response, stronger in his lycanthrope form, was now awakened. And it told him to fight for his life. As an animal trapped and wounded will fight all the more ferociously in it's own defense, so too would the incarnation of nature's fury.

Hie eyes shifted in color from yellow to a supernatural glowing red. he had entered a blood rage.

In his pain and terror he was not thinking clearly, but it was clear that he intended to fight.

The arir around him began to increase in temperature. Withering waves of heat distortion flowed forth from him like a river as he burst out of the half-formed concrete prison.

When he landed on the ground, he concentrated the waves of heat into pressurized knives of air and sent them toward his mind-bending foe.
The inky aura surrounding Argent's body deflected the knives with a swat of a bat-like wing, but the waves of heat did make her step backwards. She could feel his pain and rage beat at her mind, nearly animalistic, and she fed on it, twisting it back upon himself, trying to lock his mind into a loop of pain, rage, and fear.

(I edited out the knives... figuring it too much for one post. But that's fine...)

A loop of pain rage and fear would only increase his destructive force. Albeit make it less controlled. As he slipped into a more animalistic state the waves of heat turned to waves of biting cold which pulsed only somewhat directed at Argent, more of a cone than the beam he would normally create. The water in the air froze and condensed into chunks of ice which were also thrown at her with the full and terrible force of hurricane winds.

Blast leaned over the pilot. He wasn't bulletproof and wasn't about a to leap from a perfectly good aircraft hovering many feet up above concrete.

"I need you to take it down so I can get off man." He yelled. It really looked the fight could be going better.

The inky-black wings curled around her, making her a smaller target for the wind and ice to slice against. It was hurting her, yet like the crocodilian she was running on emotions. She wanted him to hurt for what he did to Ember, one of the few people she had ever called 'friend'.

Battered by the ice storm, she again sunk into the ground, emerging behind the lycanthrope. "You Will Pay..." she growled, fading into the expanding form of the shadowdragon, becoming one with it. The head opened its mouth and consumed Avatar as it dove into the ground under his feet, teleporting the crocodilian away with it.

And just like that, in the time it took him to drop off another load of humans, another one was gone, and Mirage team was going to work.

On his flyover of the protest stage, Saibot began to round up the next batch of civilians, and it looked like others were fleeing, now that it was turning into a out and out meta-brawl.

It was then he saw Dynamo and Gravitas, so far the two hadn't done anything yet, but he had the distinct feeling, it would get ugly when it happened...

As if in response, his own shadow erupted upwards, bat-like wings straining towards the sky, the image of a horned, toothy mouth flashing by his face as Argent's shadow-shape fountained out of the ground and continued rising into the sky. As the inky black tail whipped past, it left in its wake the mental echo of Rage, Pain, and above all, Vengence.

Unfortunately for Niner it also left Avatar, whom had received the blunt of those emotions directly into his reptilian brain, face to scaly face with him. The shadowdragon flew a safe distance away, fully expecting the enraged crocodilian to take out his anger on the nearest target: Niner.

Seven dropped softly onto the ground hiding in the shadows of the alley he had found, his active camouflage working perfectly even during the day, and with all the confusion of the battle no one would notice his liquid looking form. He saw one of several copies of one of the attackers in front of him just outside the alley, he moved to the edge of the alley and repositioned the gun in his right hand. Then with super human speed he stepped quickly out of the alley behind the clone and struck him hard with the pistol.

The clone evaporated as he was struck in the back of the head, Seven realized that they were just illusions, fairly advanced ones but illusions none the less. He withdrew back into the shadows and kept low as he switched his vision over to a thermal scanning mode unfortunately the illusions seemed to have a heat signature as well. “Damnâ€Â

Mark 25 had left the helicopter early on to aid in the evacuation of civlians. His own talents made him particularly useful for safely escorting normal humans away from dangerous areas. "Remain calm, Law Enforcement has been deployed to restore order. Get to cover and remain there until an all-clear has been sounded."

As soon as people were cleared from the area, or as soon as one of the hostile metahumans eyed him or his charges the wrong way, his gun would come out. As normal, it was set to stun first, lethal as was needed.
