"Other targets are secondary. Primary objective not yet completed. Airborne team may need assistance. Vehicle has been noted for further investigation. Agent Blackheart, advise. Subjects may be associates of target." Mark 25 glanced in the rear view mirror at the recent additions to the agency. "Negative, keep your pants on."

Alex started grumbling to himself. Something about the borg. He was of course tempted to violate that order and take his pants off for his upcoming shift into Were form, but he decided against it. Pants were however, expensive and he was getting tired of replacing them.
Oh well. Even though Blackheart was apparantly off in his own little universe, he still had to obey orders. Still, it wasnt as if those two could escape him. He had spies everywhere.

Legacies' face was as blank as always as he heard the intrusive voice in his mind again.
"Project Guardsman is dead, you're all that is left. But I need your help with something." Legacies was scouting the surrounding area, keeping an eye on when the feds would show up. "I'll be honest with you, working with me means working with the government. But from the inside, you can get information you would never be able to get from out here, and we, I, need your help to rescue the senator."
Legacies chimed in to the telepath who was still in their mind. "We can assist one another to achieve things that, alone, we cannot do."

"Take it easy on the approach," Blackheart said. "We don't want to spook anyone. We aren't here for a fight. I'm maintaining my distance because the last time I saw the little freak I fought with him. My presence would probably ratchet up the tension level. I am nearby. If things go south, I'll be right on top of them." Literally in this case.

Your right, Guardsman is dead. I killed it. All that is left of it are the dogs of the government and military that oversaw the project. They shall meet their end soon enough. How do I know that I wont be shoved into a lab to be tested?Charon wrote:Legacies' face was as blank as always as he heard the intrusive voice in his mind again.

The mask of Legacies slipped off to reveal Mark's face. "Because right now they need you. If you come willingly you'll be a part of a team, you'll have access to secret files, and once it's all done and over with you can get out of it. If you don't come willingly you'll either die or you'll go back into the lab. I can assure you that I will do all I can to make sure that doesn't happen though."

Niner narrowed his eyes and reached out with his telepathy.
Shit, I've got silver boy, and five others who have an interest in my area. Meaning me. No way I'm getting out of this. Course I could teleport Wouldnt work Shut up. Didnt I tell myself to stop responding to myself.
Very well, tell me your terms.

Legacies slipped the suit back over his head, speaking into the communicator. "Blackheart, get down here, the telepath wants to hear terms." Legacies looked back at Niner, "As long as you haven't done anything illegal that they can find out about, you should be able to get a one mission term, then get your pay and go. Maybe they won't be able to find you again." Yeah right, and this wasn't a suicide mission.

Legacies nodded. The symbiote responded to the mental call. 'Possibly, but it is likely that someone who knew about your project will be reading these reports. I would suggest that you not be truthful to the agents when they ask you questions about your past.'

Blackheart descended to the scene. "You've committed multiple crimes, but you have options beside jail. Join the team and you'll keep your freedom and gain legal status and protection."

Anderson pulled into an inconscipious alley. Getting out of the van and looking around, checking the skies, making carefully sure no eyes watched. No trees around; nothing, not even a pigeon or sparrow. He nodded and turned around, facing the wall, clicking a remote.
Just like that, the wall vanished, revealing a garage door that lifted as Anderson drove in, closed rapidly and re-cloaking behind the van...
Turning the van off, he turned around in his seat and inquired of the cyborg, "Got thermal readings of entire city? How precise?"

Mark 25 began subtle alterations to the traffic patterns to slow down the secondary target, and began to open a window for his own pursuit, but he wasn't about to abandon Agent Blackheart just yet. "Agent Blackheart, on confirmation of peaceful aquisition, ground patrol requests permission to pursue secondary targets seen with primary objective."

"Resisting arrest and assault with a deadly weapon," said Blackheart. "We can also throw in attempted murder."

Adam stepped off the jet, finally back home and away from the mess that was Millennium City. Yet he just couldn't help but feel he was missing out on an extremely big fight, but he shrugged it off and walked to the Bentley parked near the airport.

When was I resisting arrest?Cynical Cat wrote:"Resisting arrest and assault with a deadly weapon," said Blackheart. "We can also throw in attempted murder."

Legacies sighed as Blackheart started all over again. "Got a real way of talking to people 'boss'. I can assure you that weapon was as deadly as a toy gun, and I'm not pressing charges for attempted murder."

Blackheart resisted the impulse to reduce Legacies to ash. The fucker didn't seem to understand that in a team you don't undercut your team leader. "All that gets decided at trial. Do I have to explain how trials do not go well for purple people who attack from ambush and who don't have money for good lawyers? If the Fed wants you in a hole, it can put you there thanks to your own actions. Or we can talk about the benefits of signing up and not living like a hunted animal."

Please, just humor me. When was I ever resisting arrest. I was spotted before I attacked, thus, it was not an ambush. And tell me, when did I give you the impression that I would allow myself to stand trail. But we could circle around each other, growl, start fighting. You might even win, since I'm outnumbered, five to one. But I find that thought tiresome. So, where do I sign my soul for the helping the mission?Cynical Cat wrote:Blackheart resisted the impulse to reduce Legacies to ash. Stupid, delusional fuck. Did he really think his fancy powers meant it was impossible for the Fed to get him and hold him? Did he think they hadn't dealt with worse? Fucking amateurs with their delusions of toughness. Their were only two ways he was avoiding jail and that was signing up and being killed resisting arrest. Still, harping on that track wasn't productive. "Go with good cyborg. He'll see you squared away."
A better plan than Blackheart processing him with the way they were making sparks now. This whole thing was fucked up beyond belief. "Legacies stay. We have to talk."

Niner nodded and walked to the edge of the roof and jumped down. He used his powers to soften the landing and headed towards the street when it hit him. He had no idea who the cyborg was and where he was.
Hmm. This will be fun.

The suit almost seemed to smile. Ah, he always loved it when his superiors had said that to him. Good thing this one wasn't really his superior except for this mission. "Yes sir."

Blackheart waited until the others have left. "Are we going to have a problem or is undercutting me going to be a one time thing?"

Mark 25 noted that the primary objective had come down to street level and pulled up to the sidewalk. The car door opened. "Get in. Buckle up." He waited as long as he needed, motioning to the car seat until the new acquisition sat down. "Agent Blackheart, primary objective completed. Heading home. Suggest that you check on secondary objective. Uploading last known position and heading of target."
