Marcus watched the Malkavian for a moment. What was this one's game now? Refusing a chance for even the table scraps of a kill like this? Damn Malkavians.

"Very well, your loss though, don't expect to be given any credit."

Marcus slipped into the driver seat and waited for Zayne.

"Very well, your loss though, don't expect to be given any credit."
Merry wags a finger at the Lasombra, a knowing grin on his face. "Credit only goes so far, it won't keep them happy."
He looks into the distance for a moment, thoughtful, before shrugging. His face is slightly stretched, tense. "Time to leave! Fare you well, and don't turn your back on the shadows!"

He turns to go, walks right past Zayne as if he didn't exist. He turns off the street, making his own path away from Elysium.

The car bounced and bobbed on the streets. Holden idly gave a thought to visit a service station to have them make sure the thing worked, what with the cash and pretties he nabbed from the dearly departed journalist. He smoothed out his shirt and slicked that black hair back, making himself presentable for the world. The house was coming along nicely - a decent lair afterall.

The auto continued along the street until he reached the general area of the warehouse. It didn't take him long to find the remains of "the happiest place on Earth." He chuckled at the thought, of how small-time he had thought the place to be. Second night in the city and part of it threatened to come down on him, tsk tsk.

Now where is that woman?

In a run down and dilapitated house, a dark haired woman tapped a sturdy table. A chill wind blew through the house. She nodded. She was content to stay away from the action, but she might need to interviene soon.

Cassie tasted in the air the remenints of blood and fire and smiled. She followed the imprints that various bodies left, and estimated one of them to be Wright's. He went that way, she determines, before getting from her hands and knees from the dirt and wiping herself off. Her head turns.

A car. She hears a car. At this hour of night. Well, a pick me up would do. She wonders why Mary didn't take over, but remains secure in the cage. She must have sustinence before she does god's will. Thy will be done. Thank you for sending food my way. Rub a dub dub, and all that.

She steps from the warehouse rubble, blinding her eyes to the very bright headlights.

Marcus looked over to Zayne. "We'll dump the bodies and the car in the river, then head to Elysium to claim the prize for the head."

He nodded, certain that the Antitribu would arrange for maximum credit to accrue to himself for the deed.

It mattered not. The Gangrel would know who had done the work, and he would begin working his way into their number with proof of his credentials as a hunter.

He climbed into the car and waited for the traitor to drive them to the river.

Marcus started the car once again and made his way towards the river. While at Elysium he'd need to find a way to discreetly find out what was up with Wright. He was too stupid to have just picked up and left without telling him, so he must be in some trouble. So he'd have to be careful, especially after being seen with him and openly giving him support.

Then there was the matter of the Gangrel. Plans and schemes rolled along in his head. Best case scenario he gets in good with a very disinfranchised Gangrel society.

Zayne was not a talkative driving companion. While he was entirely more capable of being sociable than the Gangrel stereotype, indeed part of his training ran in that direction, it also was quite handy to live up to that stereotype in these situations. He simply watched the city go by as Marcus drove, gnawing on his fingernail.

Holden looks to the rubble that used to be sin incarnate, and shakes his head. Too much trouble. As he looks to the street again, there stands the forever-damaged form of Cassie. He quickly slams on the brakes and twists the wheel to avoid her, skidding to a halt.

"Damnit, woman!"

Cassie's hand has lowered from her face and she just stares directly at Holden, blinking and unmoving. Something seems...different.

She smells the air cautiously. She recognizes that scent.

Her malshapen lips twitch briefly.

Marcus pulled the car to a stop near an unused dock at the edge of the city. He got out of the car and motioned for Zayne. "Go get some chains or something to tie them down with. I'm gonna get the bodies prepped." Marcus looked around to make sure there was no one around.

He crept out into the darkness and found some old cable and chains, then lugged it back.

Amusing, the traitor was presuming to give him orders.

"...You ain't lost to the beast, are ya?" He smirks and opens the passenger's side door. "Off to find that waste of dust, huh? Well, might as well have a set of wheels to make the trip easier, eh?"

She looks at the door, and then at Holden, the light returning to her eyes. She smiles mildly, forming grotesquely each word, "What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?"

She gets into the vehicle. "Yes, Wright. He went this way." She motions in the general direction. "I am not sure how far. The tracks are hard to see. Time changes everything, you see. Turns it all into dust."

Marcus took one last look around to make sure the coast was clear before he wrapped the bodies in the chains and pushed them into the river. If they were found, well, who cared? By the time they were found it wouldn't be a shock they didn't have any blood in them.

Marcus stood up and brushed his hands, looking back at the car and Zayne, he grimaced. He needed to get a new car.

"'Course it does. Everything 'cept that bound by the Blood."

He sets the car in motion and moves down the way she pointed. "Besides, you're my only sheep at the moment. That 'n the lair, which I'm understandin' is comin' out quite nicely."

He eyes her suspiciously for a moment. "..What's happened in the nights I've been taking care of other business?"

"Merry met, and sang a lovely tune," She looks out the window with a smile, before looking back to Holden. "We should go and find Wright. When we find him, you will also hear the message. It is best suited for his ears, but you will reap the benefits. It is important I find him."

Marcus slipped into the driver's seat and called Zayne over. "Zayne, we're gonna need to make a detour first. I need a new car."

Marcus went over the possible locations in his head. Where was the nearest bar?

He shrugged. Cars were still a novelty to him, one that he wasn't entirely comfortable with. City-born and -bred, he'd made his way by foot his entire mortal life.

Naked steel gleamed in the vampire's hand. He was quieter than a cat as he stalked his prey. An assamite would envy his stealth.

His target was looking into the fireplace. Suddenly, he turned. "Are you going to try to kill me with that Paulus?" the bearded man said quietly.

Marcus half-drove half-pushed the car with more pieces missing than he dared to think towards the nearest speak easy he was familiar with. He ditched the car a block away and got out. He looked the gangrel up and down.

"You'll wait here. Your stench will only attract too much attention. I'll be back in only a few minutes."

Marcus walked towards the bar, mentally making sure this wasn't one of the bars that he'd pissed off. The doorman was easy to get past, the wonders of dominating a pissant muscle's mind to tell him the code.

Marcus examined the psychophants, looking for a ripe drunken target who had a car.

"Ho hum and a bottle of rum." Merry wanders the streets aimlessly, keeping just enough attention on his surroundings to avoid becoming hopelessly lost. He is stalking a prey he can't see, a prey he hasn't yet marked. He will know it when he finds it.

And there it is. A beautiful specimen too, the patterns had provided him with a fine vessel this time. He smiled pleasantly, it always made him feel so good to enlighten his vessels. To learn the truth for almost no cost--such a generous gift, his to give!

The unsuspecting man was in his late thirties, dressed neatly but not richly--he was not hurting but neither was he loaded--and had just left his car, which he had parked on the street in a residential neighborhood. Merry, hidden from the minds of men, followed this man to his home, a mid-sized house well suited for a modest family, just visible to Merry's eyes was a metal swing set in the back lot. He and his family will all recieve the greatest gift I can give.

Getting in was easy, the man was tired and Merry had no trouble stepping around him into the house--had he been more awake things might have been different, but this was his night. Once inside he waited, out of the way, for everything to settle down. If they resisted everything would be ruined, and so he waited for them to sleep.

Many minutes later the father had fallen asleep and Merry had selected suitable tools from the kitchen when he silently ascended the stairs. Only the youngest daughter screamed, and even then the pillow muffled most of it. It was hard holding the knife steady when the handle--and most of his arm--was slick with blood, but it was important that he get it right and he took the time he needed.

Time passes and five bodies lay in the center of the master bedroom, forming a star with their feet nearly meeting in the center. Blood trailed everywhere, mingled with organs, some carefully placed, some splattered randomly. The limbs were all held in strange, grotesque and acutely painful positions, the flesh cut in exotic and illegible script and haunting shapes, and Merry sat perched in the center of his flesh star, rolling his eyes and muttering without words.

He sat there a long time, reading what the patterns told him, communing with his gods. His face shone radiantly through the blood, his smile was genuine, this was a good act.

Eventually he sensed it was time to move, and made use of their bathroom to clean up before vanishing into the night.
