I thought he was expressing his contempt for people saying that the end of western civilization is nigh on the most spurious and superficial of reasons. Such as, oh I don't know, people's taste in movies or something. Obviously only a profound idiot would do such a thing, and since he praised my genius, I am clearly not guilty of any such crimes.
