This is what having a lack of Gravity Well can do a person. Gaze upon the bitterness!

Eh, I used to have GW1 on my main when I flew the C-store Prommie, but I dropped that when I switched back to the Defiant and I don't regret it one bit.

It's a glorious ability when combined with Cannon Scatter Volley and Torpedo Spread for the raw AOE damage you can do, but I don't blame you for ditching it for other builds, especially when it comes to doubling down on, say, single target DPS.

The Fleet Patrol Escort is a heavy, tanky, tough bastard who can sit facing the Crystalline Entity (on Elite), and not die. The Prometheus and the Andorian frigates have a tougher time with this, though they're both heavier on offense in different ways.

I started using Gravity Well with my Romulan tactical captain, and got immediately hooked. However... yeah, the Prometheus is the only Fed tactical-type ship that I've found that can equip a Lt. Commander science officer.

Well, the good news is that I found another Fed tactical ship capable of Gravity Well. The bad news is that the Fleet needs to achieve a Rank 2 Spire before I can get it.

This suggests a course of action.

There. All is once again well with the world. The Prometheus has been hung up on a rock for eagles to snack upon the liver of, and the Patrol Escort Caladbolg flies once again.

The Caladbolg is now truly complete. With the Nukara set equipped, Refracting Tetryon cannons and turrets equipped, and with the Tier 5 Nukara active ability, this ship is now a true shieldbreaker of enemy ship groups, and it is glorious.

The downside of the Tier 5 ability is that you have to practically get within kissing distance of enemy ships (you have to be 3km or less away, and there had better be at least 3 enemy ships, or you'll get hit), but if conditions are right, you can strip away multiple ships' shields in one go. It's great.

The Mirror Universe event is back, just FYI. Additionally, the new R&D system takes a little getting used to, but to me it makes more sense than what was had before.

So.... *sweeps away cobwebs* Anyone doing the Delta Recruit thing? I think I may have gone overboard myself. I mean, got the free slot... bought four more with stockpiled dilithium.... went ahead and bought two more while the sale was on.... rolled four new characters so far for it. KDF Tac, Rom Engie, and a new Engie and Tac on Fed side.

The latter are named Asami and Korra. When I told Tevar she gave me a Karrin Murphy-esque facepalm and glare. And I'm not even a lanky six and a half foot tall wizard-private investigator either....
