I don't think he's gonna greet this one with a chuckle.

His eyes are normally like that. But he'll sure want an explanation.

Redcloak had better have put some ranks into Bluff to pull this one off.

It's not his eyes. It's the fact that he had the girl working on understanding the ritual, which would let him cut redcloak out of it completely... And the guy who would have lost power and influence from this just admitted to brutally murdering her. He might not take this well.

Yes, I get that, but my post was more about the comments that he looked pissed. Maybe I just interpreted that too literally.

Xykon might not be happy about having Tsukiko murdered like that, but he himself provided the rebuttal "we play rough". I wonder whether Redcloak will use it.

Redcloak wouldn't have mentioned it if he didn't feel confident he could get out of Xykon's annoyance one way or another. Besides, Tsukiko did kind of creep him out.

Well there's something Xykon and I can agree on, she was a creepy crazy bitch.

Seems that Redcloak managed that pretty well, considering the situation.

Damnit! You beat me by minutes :p

I like how Redcloak told Xykon just enough of the truth to keep everything going. Also, Xykon has an astral plane fortress... That's never a good thing. But thanks to Redcloak, the Order mostly likely won't have to storm it! Yay for evil's self defeating tendencies! Woooo!

With the resistance smashed, I wonder if the elves and others will just give it up and accept Goblintopia is here to stay. If I was Hinjo, I would push for the return of all Sapphire City citizens but it's damn unlikely at this point that an invasion can dislodge the hobs. Especially if they got the walls fixed back up. Course the Elves might decide fuck it and go to the mat. You never know with elves.

It seems that Belkar can track after all, if he gets the right environment.

Roy is probably right about not fighting at a tactical disadvantage, though. And he doesn't know that they have backup, so it's probably a good thing that he waited to get the whole team.

Considering the state the Azurites were in when they fled, I think his priority should be to settle down and build up his resource base. They have pretty much all they need at this stage. If they go to war with the Hobgoblins, it would be on account of the slaves still in Azure City.

(edit: I really messed up that post before, didn't I. Oh, well it's fixed now.)

You know, for all that Vaarsuvius and Belkar don't get along, they apparently do have some things in common.

So much for the kobold joining the Order, at least willingly.

Yup, he's Neutral, so like Julia Greenhilt he swings both ways.

But here's a new update. Rich is really on a roll these past few weeks: 836.

Elan being Eland and over-thinking the rules of drama again.

But it's better than being taken by surprise due to genre blindness, I guess.

I'm guessing the fact his Kickstarter has something like 1300% funding might have something to do with that...

Anyway, "hey hey hey, the gang's all here". You know, all the gangs.

Only problem is that Team Evil is heading to a entirely different Gate than the one the Linear Guild and the OttS is headed to...

l wasn't aware that Kragor's Gate was in the desert (with one s). In fact, I believe that them going to the desert rather implies they intend to take Girard's Gate.

Roy's error in guessing which gate to go to next dates from his question to the Oracle. He asked which of the two following gates Xykon would go to next: Girard's Gate or Kraagor's Gate. The Oracle answered "of the two named, Xykon will go to Girard's Gate next", or something along those lines. Not realizing that he had outsmarted himself, since Xykon would go to Soon's Gate next, but he excluded that possibility from the question. Now that Soon's Gate has been dealt with, the next gate Xykon will go to is indeed Girard's Gate. Kraagor's Gate is in the North, and I suspect we'll be seeing that one at some point (when Durkon gets to go home "posthumously" and unwittingly brings about the destruction of his homelands somehow).

But now the heroes are finding out the hard way that trying to sneak up on an Epic-level master of illuisions is not a trivial task: 837.

If it's no illusion, the entire Draketooth family just died off. My guess is Poison, since it hit everyone.

Poison wouldn't hack it. For one thing, not everyone is gonna be sitting down at the same time. Also, with that many people, many of them with adventurer levels, it's impossible for someone not to pull the roll of a lifetime and make their save... Plus it would hit some before others, giving a chance for someone to whip out a neutralize poison scroll or something. This is assuming that they're not as paranoid as I think and didn't have permanent things like detect poison and various shields and wards up and running. This clan was founded by a guy who honestly believed that the paladin was gonna double cross him remember?

Whatever it was, would have had to hit them all at once, hit them harder then anyone could resist and been powerful enough to blow through their wards. Epic magic. Epic Magic casted by someone who didn't give a fuck...

What was that spell? Familicide?
