rhoenix, my friend, I would like you to consider the reaction of the Klingons, who have spilled their blood on your decks saving your bacon; to your current lack of activity in this battle where their ship is taking fire.

I'm going to back out of the game. Despite all the work I put into this character and game, I simply can't bring myself to care about it or much else right now.

So, my apologies for not posting about this earlier, and making all of you wait on me. I'll work with Havoc when I see him on to figure out the proper type of exit, whether warp core breach or whatever.

Cancel the last - Havoc, Hotfoot, and CynCat and I had a talk this evening, and a far better solution was found.

I'm still here, and so's the Gilgamesh and Captain Arch... er, Solheim.

In that case, remarkably spiffy to hear. That's the nice thing about word modifiers, they're so easily removed.

So. Should I get my CMO to start taking temperatures and checking pulses? Because she's an irritable stim addict; there's a good chance the process might be uncomfortable.

I'm in the process of preparing for a fairly extensive voyage, so it has slowed the writing process somewhat. I will post tomorrow.

Havoc: I received the message from Tev saying that the Spector is too small to extend shields around herself and the Gilgamesh.

However, that's exactly what the Spector did over Nivoch IV. Is the Spector not being able to do so now a consequence of being in the badlands, or is something else at work?

I've edited my post to be more general in the meantime.

A reminder to all that Kadon has specifically ordered everyone to NOT TO FIRE ON THE TENDER.

One cannot play the same sorts of shield games when one is attempting to protect oneself from an active plasma storm as one can do in open empty space. The Spectre is not a large ship and cannot extend its shields out to the extent necessary to cover the Gilgamesh while still maintaining the proper degree of protection.

And the Spector has warned everyone that the Tender has loaded Tri-Corbolts in their torpedo tubes, and not to set them off.

However, Havoc thinks this is all going to end Very Badly.

We're, collectively, a dozen or so people having a gunfight in a walk-in closet, and someone brought grenades to the party. Of course it's going to end poorly.

EDIT: And then some crazy bastard tried a wrestling move. If someone with precision firepower wanted to go after their tractor emitters, though, I wouldn't complain.

Thank you - just what I wanted to know.

And... it looks like White Haven guessed my plan - after getting in position within someone's shields, I was going to lock the Cometfall on the tender's tractor emitters, and tell them "let go, or lose them."

I'd love to see them attempt battlefield repairs on their tractor beams after getting them hit with a slug going .75c.

EDIT: And yes, I won't fire without clearance.

Well, looks like I get to retcon absolutely everything I was just doing on account of Marcao apparently being able to magically instantly shake off the previously-described totally disabling attack.

Far less bullshit than the magical disabling attack itself. Like a bunch of Orion pirates are going to suddenly make the energy dampening weapon work and this hasn't been discovered previously by anyone else. I mean who the fuck needs Vulcan's Science Academy, am I right?

If the Breen can invent such a weapon, then the Orions or Romulans can modify it given sufficient time and massive amounts of power. Moreover, given what you all just did to the opposing fleet, and the fact that said weapon availed the pirates not at all, I'm having trouble being sympathetic.

Considering countering it was top priority for every Alpha Quadrant power and its ability to one shot cripple a capital warship, if all it takes to get it working again is "tinkering" then every fucking body and his dog are going to have one. I mean who the fuck needs to worry about Sovereign class warships if you can just reverse the neutron flow on the Breen Energy Damper and still take one out with your Bird of Prey.
