Crazy Klin, don't you know the best results are from hands on work and experience?

First it's Klingon. The klin is the warrior spirit/principle, as in the phrase "the klin lives in that one." Yeah our word for our people is those that possess the klin or, to put in the vulgar English vernacular, our name for ourselves is "badass." And that is how it should be.

And what makes you think there's nothing hands on about agonizers and agonizer booths? Both of them rely on a Klingon operator. Science + Klingon =MORE AWESOME.

Of course Hotfoot can just download episodes of the Jersey Shore into the minds of his troublesome crew.

Oh man, the Borg have assimilated Earth right? That means they assimilated Jersey Shore.

What? It's true. If you can't detect 60 contacts, even in the Badlands, you're pretty pathetic. Besides, with all these Federation ships around someone else is bound to tell everybody else at least three times.

CT, I mentioned in the post that the mystery fleet has both shields and weapons already charged. It's a very common precaution in unsettled times. Moreover, I don't know what the purpose of this "without organic reaction time" pre-programming stuff is, but I would advise against relying upon it overmuch.

Ah. Sorry, forgot certain details while thinking of others. I can edit the post to convey the same general principle, without violating continuity if you wish.

Ben when I say over the comm defensive posture, you raise your bloody shields and go to yellow alert at the very least.

Another factor that I think some people might have missed.

Merely entering the Badlands with your shields down is tantamount to suicide. You are sitting in the middle of a raging plasma storm. Without shields, you risk having your ship incinerated, your crew cooked alive, or any one of a thousand other terrible fates. Shields are not a luxury in the Badlands.

On the other hand, I can think of a few ways to put a large hole lengthwise through that fleet tender.

Just saying.

Get Federation? That would imply Captain Anderson had at some point not been Federation.

Also there's the post you paranoid backstabbing pirate.
