I wonder whether Tiamat's hatred of V will come into play since these are lizard-folk ruled by a chromatic dragon and all. Although she was mollified due to the IFCC's promise that more good dragons would be killed in return, she might well find this turn of events too convenient to pass up.

Of course, that's the tradition. But not all of them have the cutzpah to call their ruler something like that in public.LadyTevar wrote:It's always the Vizier/Dark Priest who's in charge.

Let's be fair she is a veteran of many battles and a war at this point.

Whomever the General is, I give him high Stats in INT, DEX, and CHR.
INT to make a workable plan that fast. DEX to move before they got away. CHR to intimidate V (intimidating Elan is not that hard).

I don't think he really intimated V into casting featherfall, he merely pointed out Haley wouldn't live if he didn't.

Maybe, but I'd say that he still displayed Cha there given the circumstances. At least he's another person way more competent than the empress.frigidmagi wrote:I don't think he really intimated V into casting featherfall, he merely pointed out Haley wouldn't live if he didn't.

Bad Luke/Vader reference... funny but bad...
'Individual science fiction stories may seem as trivial as ever to the blinder critics and philosophers of today — but the core of science fiction, its essence has become crucial to our salvation, if we are to be saved at all'

Let's not be too hasty: we haven't seen enough of Tarkin to know whether he's good or whether he's honorable and concerned about his boy. Though he did say he was proud of Elan being a protagonist.Hadrianvs wrote:I don't know what's potentially more disturbing: Evil Elan (the father) or Good Nale (the mother).
We need to update the thread with links:

Taking the references a bit too far. Still, pretty amusing and a fair bit of angry ranting from Malak. Perhaps this is foreshadowing some conflict of interest later?

Thog certainly seems unexpectedly cheerful there. But then, he probably has a lot of hit points.
On a semi-related note, I wonder how old the Empress of Blood actually is.

An earlier comic clearly stated that Tarquin is Lawful Evil while his first wife is Chaotic Good. That was the reason for their divorce: "irreconcilable alignment differences".
Incidentally, Elan and Nale probably have a step mother. Else Tarquin would not have said "first wife".
Also, the twins aren't really all that dissimilar. Nale has a love for the dramatic too, since the last time we saw him it was him exiting the stage because he wasn't the centre of attention. While Elan has been known to propose absurdly complicated plans himself.
