"I just remembered that the little cunt doesn't regularly sell here, he made an exception 'cause we were paying customers. He was just passing through the area..."

Fuck fuck fuck FUCK.

He took the improvised stake from his belt and tossed it against a boxcar. At this point, he was ready to go stomping through the shanties killing people just to blow off steam.

"Fuck this, I've got a man to talk to."

He turned and started stomping toward Haakon's turf.

Holden pauses as he hears the growl coming from... down the intersection of alleys? It sounded like a hunger frenzy, and, determined to not become someone's meal, he peeked into the darkness, sniffing the air for fresh blood.

She drains the baggage dry, and then tosses it to the side of the alley. She takes a blood stained hand and runs it through her hair, only to pull out a handful of hair with the blood.

The Beast consoled, reason begins to settle in. Cassie awakens consciousness to a dead corpse in front of her at her feet, and her hands full of blood and hair. She screams and begins away from the Death.

Marcus swore himself as the memory hit him as well. "Fuck. There goes hitting him fast. Maybe the uglies can help us out." Marcus followed after Wright, new plans already forming in his mind. They had maybe half an hour if they were really lucky before Cargo would get word that his attack failed. After that he'd be ready for the counter attack, and it would be a bitch to get at him. Maybe his arrogance would get the better of him though.

Wright paused, turning with the Tommygun settled on his hip. "Okay, I go talk to my guy, you see if you can track down a sewer rat who'll pony some dirt for dough. We meet back here ASAP, right?"

"..Miss?" Is that a gurgle of the same girl that was shaking what she had less than an hour ago? Well, she made it out alive, apparently, but were there extra assassins waiting in the wings? He narrowed his eyes and looked around him, and started down the alley. They would be dealt with, whoever they were.

Marcus nodded and made a quick look around to remember the place. Then he headed off. Thinking to himself. 'Where the hell am I gonna find one of the uglies?' The sewers of course but, they were the sewers, maybe he could find someone to go down for him.

Cassie runs literally square into Holden, and he is met with a vision of tragedy.

Cassie's hair has already begun to fall out, and her eyes are bloodshot to the point of nearly reddening them. She limps like a cripple, her leg being an extra appendage at this point she hobbles along on. Her skin is beginning to dry. Once porcelain and soft, in fact, only a short time ago, already it is yellowing and drying out like old parchment. A very slight odor is coming from her that smells of rotting cabbages, as well as the blood on her hands. Unlike normal fangs, her whole mouth is a piece of work - razor sharp oversized teeth which seem to come to sharp points below where her mouth ends.

She has blood all over her.

She grabs Holden, with much more strength than her fragile form ever allowed.

"Mister. You have to help me" She says in a paniced state. She can smell the fear on the wind of other mortals, other heartbeats, sounds of the streetcars, awakened. Not heightened sense, but aware of her surroundings.

Wright headed back, not quite along the way he came, keeping an eye out for Haakon. He cast a wide net, but found little. The few improvised shacks and hovels of the dregs of society held no vampires. From here he could see the endless lines of trains, the stock houses, the warehouses, the lights of the city proper and the train station itself.

The bump elicited a hiss from him, quite fangy... and it dropped upon further investigation of her.. change. His jaw dropped and he took a step back. "Lord Jesus..." Undead eyes went wide as he almost stumbled, yet she is attached to him with her strengthened hands.

"How did this happen to you..and when?" Truly, when... was her previous form only a masque?

Fuck.

Cargo had taken him down but good. His warehouse was destroyed, his revenue at the least screwed over but good, his haven unavailable.

He roamed around a bit longer, deciding that if he didn't stumble over Haakon soon, he'd head back to the rendevous point with Marcus.

If the Lasombra also turned up empty-handed, it'd be time to break out the big guns.

She elicits a howl of pain as her bones crack in her back, the vertebrae popping. The hiss from the vampire causes Instinct to rise, as her hand encloses over Holden's throat. The same beautiful voice remains melodically GROWLING in his face through the pain, "I said help me, goddamn it!" Mary squeezes at his throat.

He hisses again, and grits those teeth as she squeezes. "Miss... I will help." Not meaning in the way she wants to be helped, but he is looking to pacify the raging fledgling. Setting her off could put him in a bad spot, let alone the rest of the undead society.

Marcus got to a sewer grate and looked at it i dispair. If you want things done right and all that. With a heave he pulled the lid up and stepped down into the true underworld of the city, glad he didn't breath anymore.

He better, he FUCKING better. She doesn't trust him. None of them. They are all out to get her. Want to look up Cassie's skirt? Huh, don't like what you see? Too bad.

She releases her hand from his throat, her hand curling into itself, clutching with the pain. Pop, pop, pop, another vertebrae, and another. Up the line.

She watches him with distrustful eyes, pained, whispers, "Please help me." It hurts so bad.

Marcus descended down the ladder to a long dark tunnel with water in it reaching up to his knees.

Marcus looked around. Dark as hell down here, this was gonna be great. Just great. He started walking down the tunnel, hand on his sword. "Hello? Anybody down here?" Marcus stopped for a moment and listened.

He wrinkles his nose up and leans down to lift her. He is silent as he carries her into a condemned building normally occupied by a few homeless. They are evicted with a hiss and yowl. He sets Cassie down, finds a stool of sorts and has a seat opposite her.

Marcus heard nothing but echoes and the squeeking of rats and saw only darkness.

With a grumble Marcus headed back topside. He had better things to do than go looking for the rodents. Leaving the hole open he made his way back to the rendevous point. His clothing was drenched, and smelled terrible.

Mary represses the urge to crush Holden's skull in as he is carrying her. A lot of pain and around another preditor, even helping her. She maintains a low feral sound at the base of her throat until she is sat down. Suddenly, she realizes that ain't happening again. He could have been like the shadowy guy. Crackpot yacked about the Truth. Is this the Truth he talked about? Sounds like a lot of bullshit to her.

Cassie asks gently, "Is this what Wright is?"

Mary growls, "Never mind that shit. Answers! I need answers! Not tales or rhetoric! Why don't you tell me what I don't know?"

Holden sits quietly for a moment.

"Wright, Marcus, some of those assassins.. even myself. I couldn't speak for the others, but I would be nearing the decrepit age of 60 were I not." He shakes his head witha slight grin. "Anyway. Each of us come from clans. Each of us has our own little problems with each other" He begins to describe references in history like Rome and Carthage, and how vampires get those nifty perks called Disciplines. He figures the aggressive side would like that part a lot.

She listens very carefully, somehow knowing her survival depends on this. Cassie is overwhelmed, and Mary is rather pissed that this guy is telling her stories when she needs to know important vitals. The pain is almost overwhelming. If there was a way she could faint from it, she would have, but her body would not allow for such things any longer.

This is hell. The Shadow said Cassie was to be punished, and he was indeed correct. She is being punished for her lack of faith, condemned by the devil to eternal hell.

And Mary will never let Cassie forget it is her fault.

As soon as every vertebrae pops out of place, and her spine is already showing sign of curvature as well as ridges where the vertebrae is, there is a brief dulling of the intensity of the pain, and she relaxes visably.

Mary pulls out another handful of hair. Looks like she wont be needing that any more. And asks Holden, "What am I?" Already knowing she aint like Wright, Holden or Marcus.

Cassie is more meek in her addition, "When will the pain end?"

Internally, Mary chastises, "Never. You wanted your god's damnation, you got it. Personally, instead of praying about the pain, you better pray I don't find a way to finish you off"

This causes the body that encompasses them both to tear, as Cassie begins to cry.

"Shut up, bitch," Mary internalizes. "You got us into this mess. The Shadow was right. If you hadn't been all holier than thou and gone into that stupid place instead of getting the hell out of dodge, you would be home right now."

Holden regards her carefully. "You, miss, have joined the ranks of the Nosferatu. Secretive an' stronger 'n hell, doubly so. The powers of the blood letcha bend people's sight so they can't see you anymore. But it does leave its mark..."

"Pain? You can use the blood to take care of that." He gestures to his shirt where he had been shot, visibly blooded. "This used to be a mess, but we all can mend the flesh and the damage. You try, starting on that leg. Will it to not hurt anymore." He watches closely.

Her eyes close and she pushes the pain to the side for the moment, focusing on willing her leg to heal. She concentrates, and the flow of blood goes to the wound. However, it does not heal. Her brow furrows as she pushes blood more and more to the area her kneecap was crushed, but it does no good. However, during this process, the gash in her face heals.

And then, she howls with an inhuman sound of torment. Her head moving down and seeming to pin there, she violently scuttles back into the corner, heaving feral growls. In the darkness, out of sight of Holden, her lovely face begins to rot a bit more. The button nose she once had begins to decay at accelerated rate, literally shriveling in acidic pain, collapsing into itself.
