Knights of the Old Republic: Rise of the Reavers

[Agent Fisher]

Kel scoffed, chuckling. "Aww, that's mean. I remember a certain freighter that was a dump and could barely lift off when a certain Corellian first bought it." He replied.

"But yeah, my ship isn't that great. Lonely too. It's a one seater type, the rest of the space is supplies and the hyperdrive."

[LadyTevar]

"Zyke's my mechanic," Trys replied with a grin. "He's very good with his hands." The double entendre there was not meant for Kel to pick up. "Unfortunately, one of my crew has decided to stay here when we lift. He's selling his share of the Sunrise."

[Agent Fisher]

Kel raised an eyebrow. "Really? And I'm sure you'd like those shares to be picked up by someone you know, rather than some strange being." He smiled. "Sounds fun. Wonder what 'uncle' will say next time he tries calling me to do a job."

[LadyTevar]

Trys blinked, as if she'd not thought of that. "Well.. I don't have the final say, you'd have to convince Zyke and Dewaddik as well. But I think Uncle will find it amusing."

[Hotfoot]

Zyke winced as Kel mentioned his ship, he knew the kind, and while it was serviceable, it was...less than elegant. With the proper fittings and maintenance, it could be a great ship for covert actions, but the size limited its armaments and defenses, as well as hampering its mobility. Not as agile as a fighter, not as tough as a proper light freighter.

"Well he's certainly better at conversation than Marcus, but then so is Ermey. So, aside from flying around in a fine example of jury rigging, what have you been doing to keep hypermatter in the reactor?" Zyke smiled, but this was a testing question, he wanted to know what this friend brought to the table. Losing Marcus meant losing some heavy firepower and a very hard target, a nice distraction that helped in a fight.

[Agent Fisher]

Kel had a soft smile, looking at Trys then Zyke. "Well, 'officially', I've been doing armed courier runs. Transporting precious items. That's what takes me from planet to planet. But, I've been doing shooter work. Close protection. A few contacts I had from my time in CorSec would offer me work, doing mercenary work." Kel took a drink from his ale. "And of course 'uncle' gave me the most lucrative work, I'd run items for him, he'd cover the fuel bill."

[LadyTevar]

"You get FUEL?!" Trys burst out. Obviously that was not part of HER deal with Uncle. She sat back, crossing her arms over her chest in a sulk both men knew well. "We go run the cargo, get shot up, get shot down, and HE gets fuel out of it," she grumbled to Zyke. "And now our Mandalorian's gone."

[Agent Fisher]

Kel laughed. "And you've got a much bigger, more fuel intensive ship. My little G-Type doesn't need alot of fuel. And I don't get any other pay when he foots the fuel bill, and I don't get fuel runs too often. And when I get real low, I'm not above stealing." He said with a chuckle.

[Charon]

Riv smiled just a little. "Sounds like we're outta the frying pan and on our way into the fire. Should be an interesting couple of years if I manage to live that long. But I agree with Master Brianna. It takes at best a dozen years to train a Jedi properly. The academy on Coruscant alone can probably put out hundreds of thousands of trained troops in that amount of time. We have a much longer road of recovery ahead of us, and I think we still have doctrinal issues that need to be ironed out."

[Cynical Cat]

"Padawans don't understand enough to have doctrinal issues," said Brianna. "They have opinions. Only when they've learned enough to think they know something do they have doctrine."

[Comrade Tortoise]

"At the risk of seeming pretentious master, would it now however be wise to take into consideration the observations of those who witnessed what could have been an error in policy or and taking steps potentially to mitigate the problem before history repeats itself? It may not be a doctrinal issue per se, but it could easily become one under certain circumstances"

[Cynical Cat]

"Your assumption is flawed," said Brianna. "I'm uninterested in doctrine and have no use for the debates between different factions by Jedi who are now dead. Furthermore, it is a sign of your hubris that you think you are competent to discuss doctrine at all. You have much to learn about the Force and the Sith before you can tackle philosophy. When you are ready to unlearn, you can begin to grasp wisdom."

[LadyTevar]

"You... stealing?!" Trys said, her eyes huge. "Mr. Law&Policy actually stealing fuel?! You were the one that kept trying to keep ME honest!"

[Agent Fisher]

He grinned. "They were all bad people though." He said before laughing. "Come on, Trys, you think I'm really going to steal?" He asked. "You should know me better than that."

[Charon]

Riv shrugged, though he kept his eyes on the padawan as he spoke. He agreed with him in some ways, in others, not so much. His eyes flickered to Brianna for a moment before he brought his gaze back to the Hortek.

"I haven't seen you here before. You another new arrival?"

[Comrade Tortoise]

The Hortek nodded at the Master, though it was not what he meant, he was not going to press the matter further."

He did however respond when the other Padawan addressed him

"I am. My name is Asarak. Recently arrived home from a war-imposed exile, and one of these practice sticks is for you. Nothing says 'hello' like bludgeoning someone in a sparring match"

At that Trys rolled her eyes. "I think that's what Zyke calls 'requisitioning needed supplies'," she retorted. And yes, she, Zyke, Dewaddik, and Marcus had all done that once the guardians of those supplies had proved to be hostile (and then dead).

[Agent Fisher]

Kel smirked. "Nice name." He said.

"So, what brings you to the center of the galaxy?" Kel asked.

[LadyTevar]

"Uncle," Trys replied with a grin, which turned into a sudden look of surprise as food and drink appeared before her. Her head snapped to Zyke, who did not bother to hide his smirk. Rolling her eyes, she looked back to Kelran. "He does that to me all the time."

[Agent Fisher]

Kel gave a playful smirk. "So, how long have you two been together?"

[Hotfoot]

"I joined Trys's crew a while back, I was doing some work with an old war buddy of mine and she came along and offered us a job. It's a very agreeable arrangement." Zyke smiled, leaving the statement open to interpretation. So far, nothing he had said in this conversation had been a lie, just not enough of the truth to stick to any one thing, and if Trys wanted to keep the relationship a little quiet around her childhood friend, he'd go with that until she gave the okay. "So it sounds like you've been around a few times, and like Trys said, we have an opening in our crew. If you can handle a loud-mouthed droid, the two of us, a very talkative Wookie, and the occasional fare, we could probably make it so you can sleep in an actual bed in hyperspace, even have a proper meal, or whatever we can get out in the rim that passes for food."

"So, about two Standard years, I think," Trys added, washing down a bite of food with her drink as she looked to Zyke for confirmation. How long they'd been a couple was really no one's business, although she'd still not spoken to her parents about it. They were both more traditional.

Stars, when she was younger she'd been nearly sure they wanted her to marry Kelran.

[Agent Fisher]

Kel nodded. "I think I can handle it. Be better than just sitting by myself for long trips." He said, taking the last bite of his food, then finishing his drink. "So, how much is it to buy the mandolorian's shares?" The Corellian asked.

Trys looked to Zyke, then back to Kel. "How much do you have?" she asked in true Corellian style. "We might be able to work something out..."
Of course, nothing like she'd worked out with Zyke, who was still paying his share out by being the handiman.

[Agent Fisher]

He tilted his head. "Uh, probably six thousand saved up. I could sell the shuttle, get another seven, if I'm lucky.
