"I wasn't planning on killing him just yet," Wright said. "This doesn't change a thing. C'mon."
He gestured for him to follow, and headed for the shanties that resided down in the rail yards proper behind the warehouse.
Once they got close enough for the denizens of the shanties to hear, he started chattering away, an indignant tone in his voice.
"Can you believe the fucking nerve of that priest? Going after Cargo? Shit..."

Marcus played it cool despite the surprise. Almost too cool.

Leo would bide his time. He needed to get back to his House, preparations to do. Probably a good thing no one actually knew where he lived.
If he played his cards correctly, he could make sure all his enemies perished without leaving evidence back to himself. Save for that note... still, it would be difficult to manage...
Oh his way, he realized that he needed to feed, and feeding on the blood of cows would not suffice much longer. Not for what had to be done. But he wouldnt feed on innocents... there was another way of course... The refuse... those who preyed on others. They would be his prey, poetic justice... that however would have to wait until the coming dusk

"You think I'd visit his shithole of a 'haven'?" Wright barked out a laugh. "Ah well."
He turned to leave the area of the shanties.

Marcus looked at Wright. "I did, once, tried to get him to change his mind. Figured he'd be worth something later. But as I got there I heard him doing some confession thing to his god. He's a spy." With that Marcus followed after the brujah.

"A spy? Do tell..." Wright said, leaning over conspiratorially.

Marcus looked around carefully. "Here? I can't say much. But he was talking about doing the will of his Cardinal, and how he hoped that his deeds would allow him to be the priest of the pack or something like that. I dunno. That's all I can say here. Some jackass might think I know something I don't."

A vampire wearing a slick black suit walked across the mouth of the alley that Leo was hiding in. He stopped, cocked his head, and reached for into his jacket for a package of cigarettes. He tapped the pack, drew one out, and stuck it in his mouth. The dark haired man flicked on his lighter, set on high flame. He drew it close to his mouth and lit the cigarette.

Holden let his unnatural eyes settle upon the woman for the briefest of instances, draws them to the drama of the two 'fighting' women, and slowly removes a cigarette from a gold case. It is placed to his lips as he glides across the floor, drink in his other hand, and moves in a roundabout way to the brunette. He leans against the side of her booth and gives her a short nod, and with a slight southern drawl... "Have a light a poor sap can borrow?"Cynical Cat wrote: He was lucky. He spotted a brunette in a slinky red dress smoking a cigarrette and eyeing the crowd from her booth.

She nodds her heads at one of her cronies. "George, give the man a light. What brings you to my place? I haven't seen you around before."

He leans in for the flame, the light reflecting upon his eyes as it sparks. He is entranced for a moment, and then returns to his relaxed position. "That's exactly correct. You haven't seen me 'round before, but it appears that the reputation of this establishment is such that one doesn't need to ask for it by name."

"This is one of the swankiest places in town. And there is the whole Prohibition thing. It doesn't encourage name dropping although the address gets around. As do the cops."

He quickly eyes the 'support' she has with her, and returns his attention to the woman. "Of course. Business is business, although it was much easier to deal with when the government was much farther away than it is nowadays."

She looked at him in amazement. "You're fucking kidding, right? The government just made this whole town crimminals and every cop an accessory. As long as this lasts, they don't have any power."

He offers a smile. "I disagree." And leans forward, only slightly. "American society has moved beyond their quiet towns, isolated cities. This is the 20th century, and Wilson has brought us all a little closer together.
Awfully crowded, isn't it? Rubbing shouders with the other clubs? .... Shouldn't this be the swankiest joint in town?"

She shrugged. "You can see it that way. And for the swankiest, well that's a matter of opinion that modesty forbids me from commenting on."

"We return to business. The great cog that turns, drowns us in etiquette, and makes us come back for more." He grins to himself. "In a city of structured chaos, I would not imagine there would be much room for modesty."

"Does that mean you do not throw yourself to the passion of the beating heart? A club owner should be discerning, but willing to take risks.
Proper upbringing or not... business isn't always so forgiving when you get a spot on your dress." He lets his gaze drop to her shoulder briefly, and back to her eyes.

He returns the same face he had been making since he waltzed over. "The only point is that which you wish to see."
He leans back, takes a slow drag off the cigarette, again watching the ember with interest.
"I might also be dancing around the issue of your name; because I, too, was not raised in an outhouse."
