#1 Books you want

Post by Ace Pace »

It happens to everyone, you read a book once at a friends, a page or chapter at a bookstore and your hooked, but can't get it.

What books are like that for you?

For me, for the past 3 years, Songmaster/Songbird(name varies), if there is heaven, its got to have this book.

I'd give away my entire SW book collection for it, and that collection is a good 50-80% of all SW BOOKS written.

Whast it about?

For me I used to yearn for a few select graphic novels (especially Sandman) but I have procured them since then

Man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much: the wheel, New York, wars while all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in water having a good time.
But the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man for precisely the same reasons

The Carpathian series by Christine Feehan

Vampires and shifters just to name a few of my favorite things.

It is a great series, would recommend it to anyone who is interested in either of those subjects.

And the James Patterson set of 4 that is out right now 4th of July, 3rd Degree, 2nd Chance and 1st to Die

Traitor General by Dan Abnett. I've been looking for it since its release but I can't find it, and I just picked his more recent Ravenor Returned, but still no frickin' Traitor General. I'm about ready to order online...

Sin City graphic novels, and lots of 40K books. Lots and lots.

Anything Frank Miller, really. His new Batman is superb.

Until about an hour ago, 1776 by David McCullough. Half an hour ago, though, I bought it.

I want the books in the Belisarius series that Baen doesn't have free online. Also, more of the Discworld books (and time to read them).

I also want an updated bird book. I'd like to have an older one which is fine for the most part, but it's gotten a bit messy and scribbly with the updates. What people thought was one species was really two that look almost alike, and then some others turn out to just be color morphs of the same species, and then ranges change (many southern birds have been steadily moving northward) and so on.

Storytime update 8/31: Frigidmagi might be amused by this one.

Okay, longer list than you may be used to...

The Simarillion
The Necronomicon
The Foundationverse Novels
Anything set in the Forgotten Realms universe
Anything set in the 40k universe
Battletech Novels would be nice
Decent Star Wars EU Novels (IE: Not written by KJA)
Anything with Vampires, Serial Killers, or General Fantasy, and is well written and has a decent plot.
