Alright. In that case, the gift that keeps on giving: Kelgore's Firebolt!

Kelgore's Firebolt
(monster may make Reflex save for 1/2 damage; if monster's spell resistance overcomes spell, monster still takes 1d6 damage from having a hot rock thrown at it)

Saving throw:

EDIT: I do believe that is a save, so the column takes 8 damage. It's really looking blasted apart now, but it is still standing and ready to fight.

Oh crap, I'm sorry. I should have rolled 3d6 for damage, since the target was a construct. Here goes nothing:

Statistically speaking you would have to have cheated to not kill the damn thing at that point.

I was including the fact that you had already hit it with the touch attack

Now you guys can assess the damage and start exploring. Oh, and don't forget about the ghost.

As a note, Comrade Tortoise is now officially invited to join if he so desires. You guys still can explore the underground chamber, but I can get our local herpetologist in on the action now, either as someone else who found the abandoned village or as someone you might seek out to learn more about some of the things you might find down there, depending on how you guys all want to do it. I'm guessing the former, but the latter is still and option.

Well. I know that if we loot the bow it'll probably disturb her rest, but since Bartel bombed his Knowledge roll, he doesn't.

I dunno. It seems like that would be common sense to me. "Hey, this ghost didn't rest until she was reunited with her bow. Maybe we shouldn't fuck with it. Just in case."

If it is alright with everyone, when they come out, the church will already be on fire and a grey-cloaked and very odd looking figure will be hanging about the top of the well or near the church, whichever you folks prefer.

That's fine. Mind those of us who've lost part of our minds.

Taking a ten on Knowledge: religion (for a total of 20) to know the religious rituals that Cuthberites perform for a cremation. If that is fine by the GM of course...

Technically there is nothing the party can do at this point to stop you from setting the church on fire, and you know enough to not make a hash of things. However, is there anything you want to do before you set it on fire? Any examination or the like?

Also, what is your prohibitted school? You have illusion written down on the top but necromancy seems to be the one you have in your spell selection, except I'm seeing both schools represented. I'm guessing you changed your mind half way through and forgot? Because from the description I can see Illusion being prohibited more strongly than Necromancy as it is false knowledge.

Yeah I changed my mind midway through, and my editing seems to be incomplete. But the prohibited school is illusion.

I will go through an examination first, but I wanted to make sure I knew how to properly lay them to rest when done.

Generally a short prayer should be said and if possible the names of the deceased read out. Speaking of which, a quick examination leads you to discover the church records stored at the back of the church where the priest used to live.

They might be important and/or useful when not on fire.

EDIT: Also, those of you down the hole, do remember that there is a deeper part to the complex that the construct was guarding and while I said that this was your last encounter today your characters might not know that so you may want to decide what you're all doing before you think about splitting up.

The dice went all sour for me with the column fight, but most of the time they seem to really hate the PCs in this game. Witness Eight running in terror for Eight whole rounds upon the initial combat with the ghost.

Search checks for things like journals, evil ritual books, things like that which might have driven a priest mad

This is basically your chance to take 20 on your Search check. It might be a waste of time, it might not, the decision is up to you.
