Squee! I get to go to two concerts in the upcoming months of my favored groups, one for free (friend picked up NIN concert tickets for my hubby and I), and one for very very cheap (Cruxshadows at local gothic club).

(Side note: Although "Squee" does not seem incredibly apropos when describing a gothic concert and an industrial concert, it is absolutely indicative of my thoughts on the matter. Alas, we are not able to go to the Depeche Mode concert. Sigh, I think I will go staple my hand to my forehead now)

With all the threading of music out there, I was surprised that there is no threading regarding concerts.

What is the last concert you went to?

And is anyone else going to any concerts out there within the next three months?

You know about my one and only concert experience.

Ended up with bruises all over my ribs and back and a dislocated shoulder.

Oh yes, I remember your story regarding this. Honestly Josh, I gave up mosh pits around 18. There are far more constructive, and fun ~brat grins~, ways to channel your angst.

Thankfully, brother, you have not been to such a concert since.

the 30th: I'm totally rocking 'n rolling at a show by a band you've never heard of, called the BLOW. Not only are they aweXome, my buddy is opening. I'm indescribably excited.

*edit* if you've heard of/ are a fan of M.I.A. I was privy to a small, in-store performance yesterday whilst in Boston, at a shop called "Newberry Comics" (which sadly, did not actually carry comics). Anyway, it was cool. Friend of a friend was dating her.
For the record, I'm still plastered/wasted/tanked/hammered/crunked/three sheets to the wind/ past 12/ lubricated/ charming/ whichever you prefer....and, amazingly enough, single.

Last concert I went to was when Jebediah (people from OS may or may not have heard of them) were playing at the Guild Bar at my uni a couple of years ago (yes, that's how exciting my life is). It was great. My friend and I jumped around like idiots and possibly incured permenant hearing loss.

Hoping to go see Eels when they come to Brisbane at the end of October.

I seen Aaron carter when i was 10, and then I just saw Tom Petty and the Black Crows, and ZZ top

Last concert I went to had the following bands:

1) Emphatic
2) Grasshopper Takeover
3) No Address
4) Danko Jones
5) Unwritten Law
6) Papa Roach
7) 311

It was rather big, as you might imagine. 311 was the headliner since they're from Omaha, but in my own opinion Papa Roach and Danko Jones stole the show.

If you've never heard of Emphatic, it's because they're a local band that won a contest to be the first band up at that concert.

Anyway, I was going to go to one tomorrow night with Swizzletree and Straight Outta Junior High but I don't have the money for that and Serenity. Bah.

I fucking love Cruxshadows. Them, Collide, Inkubus Sukkubus, and Kidney Thieves are amongst my favorite bands.

Never heard of Cruxshadows, however as they are spoken of in the same terms as Kidney Thieves, they are probably worth checking out.

PS: I have also seen the Seekers live in concert. Got my parents to thank for that one.

Not a fan of System of the Down, for some reason. Odd cas they encompass a lot of qualities I like in a group. I just dont like the package.

Try "Imperative Reaction". They are really good too. Raw unpolished talent, but it honestly makes their concerts so fucking good.

I was incredibly dissapointed with seeing VNV Nation in concert. I did not glean anything from seeing them live that I would not have from their CD. I hate that.

I live in FL... Ft. Walton Beach to be exact, right near Panama City and Pensacola. AKA where Ivan and Dennis tore through ^_^.

Never seen VNV Nation live. I saw Type O Negative once though

Also got to see Godsmack and Black Sabbath with Ozzy as lead vocals. Best...Concert...EVAH. *is a huge Sabbath fan*

I've also seen SoaD, Sevendust, Megadeath, Manson, DrainSTH, Sea of Souls, Project 86, Liquid Gang, Ultraspank, Papa Roach, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Prodigy, Disturbed, P.O.D. and a ton others...

VA Beach near where I use to live, local rock station(FM99) every year does Lunatic Luao(sp?) 9 bands, 15 some odd hours usually, $9.99 seat or lawn. 95% of the bands are big name bands like Sevendust, Godsmack, Korn, Metallica, etc so it's always a really kick ass time. Skipped school every year to see it ;)

The hubby and I just went to see "Queen, It's a Kinda Magic" They are a tribute band to Queen and they were awesome. We just went on wednesday!

Then about a year and a half ago we went to see Ozzy Osbourne, which was the best concert I've ever been to.

And then when I was 15, I saw Bon Jovi! I also was so close to the stage that Bon Jovi shook my hand!!!!!! That was the closest I've actually been to an actual performer. He touched me!! *swoons* (remember, I was a teenager, so of course I reacted that way and I was sad the next time I had to wash my hands)

Now if you count bands that didn't quite make it to the bigtime shows then I've been to tons of shows performed by a bunch of guys I became friends with through my girlfriend when we were in high school. We always went to their shows in the local bars and stuff. The name of that band (which has since broken up) was Division 21! I have pictures of me in my shirt that we made (best friend had one too) to promote the band and their shows. We always wore these shirts to their shows. It's too bad they didn't get along well enough to stay together cause they were good.

You bastard. I have already said it in private but...you bastard. Type O Negative is to me what Marvin Gaye or Barry White is to some ~shivers and purrs~ Here's to hoping they don't OD before they come touring again. ~LOL~

When I was younger, when the grunge and "alternative" movement was still fairly new, I saw a really awesome concert - one of the best I have ever seen. White Zombie/Pantara/Megadeth. White Zombie SUCKED. That makes me incredibly sad because I heart their music. Perhaps it was cas they were tired or it was daytime and they were opening outdoors. Who knows.

Pantara was amazing. Being the only girl in the mosh pit, I got bruises galore and it was glorious. I also met a cool punk I made out with and went to future concerts with. Aww to be young :P I met some other cool kids, most in the punk scene. What the hell were they doing at this concert? Dont ask me :P They were really stoned, and frankly, I was unimpressed with their punishness. I was more "hardcore" than any of them, and I was just a stinky grunge bunny :P

Megadeth had to follow Pantara. Pantara rocked, so Megadeth, although good, did not touch it. They had to have a strip show in order to gain some support. It is almost like they whiney, overneedy girlfriend, "Pay some attention to MEEEEE" ~giggles~

Ahhh for the days of teased hair and heavy black eyeliner. I miss the days of kicking ass...randomly, and then I get over it :)

My ex husband was an Ozzy FREAK!!! I went to see Ozzfest ...a lot. Once when I was pregnant, of all things ~L~. That was what garnered Tool as my favorite band, but I digress. Ozzy is cool in concert. he definitely knows how to put on a show.

~grins~ man, you are hardcore on Bon Jovi! Did you think he was hot when he did the Young Guns video too? I know I certainly did. I saw him when he did his "bed of roses" tour. Brings back memories.

Nothing like seeing a concert with your significant other. ~grins~ you get to see them in the peak of their goofiness and black mail them later ;) Nothing like it in the world.

I work concerts for a living, so I see a fuckload.

On Wednesday I just kind of chilled and didn't really work but attended under the guise of employment: CutCopy, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Franz Ferdinand. Upcoming shows in October that I'm working: Switchfoot (whom I have a long employment history with, woot!), My Chemical Romance, Dredg (who I've been road crew with since their first show here), Coheed and Cambria, Bloodhound Gang, and on the 24th my friend's inviting me to see Morning Wood.

Electronic, but not techno. Dance-y, but not house, and simply beautiful vocals. That's a terribly insufficent description, though the part about the vocals is 100% true.
What I hear they're aiming to come back, or something.
