Suffering from an acute lack of Winter Assault, I decided to look up the Steel Legion mod...
Been thrashing the shit out of it. Very nice indeed.
So my latest battle was against a shitload of Orkies coming my way...
Oh, and pardon the excess of images of a single action; merely showing off the prettiness of Steel Legion... it is, by far, one of the best single mods of Dawn of War that I've ever played.
Forward the Legion!
That gentleman there with the chainsword and plasma pistol is the Colonel of the Regiment, and the ancient one bearing a shotgun and crozius is the Priest of our most holy and divine Emperor. They are currently inspiring His devout forces, as we build up for the final assault upon the greenskin base!
Meanwhile, my Pioneer squads, cloaked, have a little fun with emplacing charges immediately in the middle of the Orkish camp... once I figured out that Pioneers can build while cloaked, I decided employing them would be most useful...

Meanwhile, the Emperor's Striking Hammer, his armoured corps, assembles!
That large tank, comrades, is a Stormblade! Twin-barrelled plasma cannon! One shall not fear for his life with this mighty symbol of the Emperor's Power before him!

Note the famed, the one and only Commisar Yarrick, the Hero of Armageddon, standing with his infantry squad besides the tank... The plasma cannon mid-fire! A beautiful shot...
And in succession, the effects of a single shot:
The Ork stronghold receives a fatal blow!
Commisar Yarrick, impatient to strike the finishing blow, advances... but the Stormblade's gunners are over-eager and land a shot upon the greenskin structure as he strikes!
In the blast of its detonation he is knocked flat...
Yet, unfazed, he jumps back up as grot bits land besides him!
And the game ends with this beautiful view... that would be a Leman Russ Vanquisher beside the SP, and the Stormblade's barrels glowing beside it. Damned grots never quit coming... the ground is scattered with their remains. A most righteous massacre in the Emperor's name this was!
