#1 The different faces of Transformers

Post by rhoenix »

I've had some free time after getting most of my stuff taken care of over the past two weeks, so I decided to familiarize myself with the different series of Transformers, thanks to the awesomeness of youtube.

G1: Where it all started. I still think it was okay, but it only holds up to some of the others by virtue of nostalgia, and because it was the first.

Beast Wars: In my opinion, the best characterization, best writing, and best plot for any Transformers series.

Beast Machines: Still good writing and good characterization, but it flies right in the face of much established universe and setting.

Armada: Good ideas for setting, good character ideas, good animation even - bad execution for all three. There was so much potential for awesome in this series, and it never got there - it seemed to take pride on falling short, especially in consistency.

Energon & Cybertron: Unwatchable, the animation was so bad, and changes done for no good reason.

Robots In Disguise: Okay I suppose, I just couldn't get into it at all.

Animated: Another good series, with good writing and characterization. So far, I'm impressed.

Well, there you go - micro-reviews of each series. I just felt like saying it.
