Time for some discussion up in ere!

Let's talk Steam Punk. What makes steam punk... Steam Punk? What do you like about it so far? What do you hate? Do you have favorite stories or games set in the genre?

A genre where Steam is the Ultimate Powah!

Literally, using the power of steam, they can do anything, including run massively unbeleivable machinery which nuclear reactors would have trouble running.

Steam Boy is Steam Punk in full.

You can have steampunk without the steam; it's fun to have smokestacks though.

In literary and and visual style, Steampunk is about old-meets-new and exploration. The all-dominate rifleman, easily trained and raised, suddenly routed by a dozen knights wearing steam-powered-exoskeletons is an example. So would an Etherjammer sailing to Venus to explore the jungles.

Iron Kindoms, magic meets steampunk, my personal favorite.

Girl Genius by Phil Foglio is the best example I can give of steam punk. Cyncat and I have both been fans of this series for some time.

Great ships that sail the seas and sky, journeys to places that have been dreamt of but never seen, mecha and guns and living castles. All that is great and wonderful about (mad) Science and Adventure!
